PEKINESE STITCH:
•The Pekinese Stitch is a beautiful and versatile stitch in hand embroidery, also known as the Chinese Stitch or the Twist Stitch.
•The Pekinese Stitch is a decorative stitch that resembles a twisted rope or a chain. It's created by working a series of interconnected loops in a specific way.
HOW TO EMBROIDER:
1. Bring the needle up at the starting point.
2. Insert the needle back into the fabric about 1/4 inch away, making a small loop.
3. Bring the needle back up through the fabric, inserting it into the loop you just created, but do not pull it all the way through.
4. Leave a small loop on the front of the fabric and insert the needle back into the fabric about 1/4 inch away, making another small loop.
5. Repeat steps 2-4, moving along the design line.
TIPS:
-Keep the tension even to maintain a smooth, twisted effect.
-Adjust the loop size to suit your design needs.
-Use a sharp needle to prevent splitting the thread.
USES:
-Outlining designs
-Creating borders and edgings
-Adding decorative details to flowers, leaves, and stems
-Filling small areas with a textured effect.
The Pekinese Stitch is a great stitch for adding a unique, twisted texture to your embroidery pieces.
