I've had my Protector 1750 for some time and decided to get 2 more Pelicans. Check out this vid to see the main differences. Spec in descri ption above.
Thank you sir! You have no idea how long I've been looking for a video where someone does a good job showing the storm series up against the others. Thank you!!!
Thank you for the video. I am a huge Pelican Case fan, but I learned a lot from this video. I was thinking about buying a Vault, but not any more. I will stick with the classic Pelicans and Storms. Again thank you, you saved money and time.
Great content! I almost bought 2 of the Vaults until I watched your video and learned they are made in Mexico. I’ll be buying the American made Pelican. America first!
Thanks for making this video showing the different Pelicase models. I have the Protector 1720 and 1750 for my guns + lots more in different sizes. The Pelican protector is truly the Heavy Duty case to protect your gear.
Thanks very much, great job showcasing the differences between the cases. It seems like the storm is best overall due to its waterproofing, push button latches, and warranty. The vault seems best for the price, but now that you showed how it's made in Mexico and therefore has only a one year warranty, plus it's only water resistant makes me think it's more like a keep in the truck/house/range case.
the seal and latches and hinge are the same as storm. the reason it’s cheaper is because they offer a 1 year warranty and it’s made in mexico, not because the materials or design are in any way inferior. It’s a pelican through and through. I’ve never had a drop of water or rust in any of my vaults on any canoe trip or anywhere else i’ve drug them and abused the absolute hell out of them. (gotta abuse the living hell out of them that first year so you know if they are gonna last the rest of time or not. i couldn’t bust a single one of them or get them to fail in any way. If the vaults are less water resistant than the storms, i can’t tell. I don’t buy the storms anymore ever since they offer the vaults.
@@zacharyriley4122 you definitely have a good case, but dude the protectors are on steroids in comparison, depending what you put in it the extra really counts.
The pelican 1750 is the toughest and most rugged rifle case probably ever made, and they have the track record to prove it..hell yea there expensive but after i spent almost 5k on my elk set up 400 for the 1750 wasnt bad...its the only case i 💯 percent trust at a airport or anywhere that i have to leave my rifle. Spend the money once and you have a lifetime case.
My only gripe is the quality of the vault. Dimension wise it is my go-to as a potential buyer, but the quality of it makes me want to go with a protector instead
the vault is a seriously good case. it’s cheaper because it’s made in Mexico and offers a 1 year warranty vs lifetime-not because they are using cheaper materials. It’s a pelican through and through. The latches are phenomenal.
I see so many guys lugging Pelican cases into the range and I always wonder why. They are soo heavy and they arent using them for travel like you are. The Vault fits that niche well.
I will have to check them out in person but the vault doesn't appear to be any nicer than a Plano all-weather case. seems like Pelican thought they could put out a cheap product and sell it on the reputation of their higher end cases. good strategy but I don't think I'll be fooled.
Storm was bought out by Pelican about 12 years ago. That’s why there is a orientation difference. Back 20 years ago Pelican reps used to tell us that Pelican was warrantied against everything except bear attacks. 😆 I just bought a IM3200 for my NXT33 bow. It was between the three of the ones you retired. The deciding factor was the 3200 is about an inch wider (which I needed). Great review.
..... So🤔, would you recommend getting the Vault for 2-rifles, or 2 separate 1-rifle (but better) Pelicans?!? Also, which is the top-of-the-line Pelican? It looks like the Vault is sorta flimsy🥴! Thanks!!!
Hey Rob - Thank you for this video. I am decided on the Storm iM3220 after watching this - do you have any thoughts on the Air 1745 Long case? How does it compare with the storm series?
Air are nice due to the weight savings. I have a smaller case. it's really light and a little less rigid feeling. strength is still good though. If you are lugging heavy content then air be a 1st choice but if you'll think you'll be really rough on your case then I'd go storm.
After owning the 1720 for awhile I regret my decision, I believe the storm case is superior. Better locks better seal. Might buy the storm then sell my 1720
Hey Rob... on your taillights because they are smoked do you have a hard time getting a safety check? I want a pair of smoked taillights but don't know if they'll pass safety
I just bought a vault case and now im disappointed that I did... I thought all pelican cases were waterproof.. this is so dumb, it has the rubber seal inside for being " air tight "
I’ve never had a drop of water or speck of rust discovered in any pelican vault on any abusive canoe trip or on the lake or anywhere else i’ve drug them to abuse the living hell out of them. I keep a bit of VCI paper and some fresh desiccant in my vaults of course but never had a drop of water in there even after dumping canoes and chasing down cases.
I’m not gonna pay the extra money for a lifetime warranty i’ll never use. These vaults are made to stand the test of time. I’d rather save the cash and spend it on what i’m putting in the case. The seal is the same seal and the latches are the same as the storm cases and the materials are the same. People just want to pay for the extra warranty they will never use.
