Pelikan Happy Review 

This is my first fountain pen, just started the hobby 3 weeks ago and I was looking for a video review of this pen, all the reviews were in german. Thank you for posting this!!

You know, I love your channel because you review even cheap pens and have some fun with it. Also we share the same love for Pelikan, though I might be a bit of a patriotic bonehead and just like them because essentially they produce THE fountain pen (Pelikano) which is for most people the only fountain pen they ever owned...mine guided me through my entire school time and I wrote my exams with it. I owe this company. I wish you all the best. :)

I have a couple of Pelikan Twist, kinda in the same price range and they're very good every day writers. Haven't had a hard start after a week or so of not using them. Pretty awesome for cheap school pens :)

Very interesting! The nib and feed look like those on the Pelikan Twist, although I believe the Twist's nib has tipping material.

the pen is ment to be worn oround the neck and the tight cap is ment to prevent it from falling away. so if seen practicaly to poen the pen you would pull the pen down. so try opening the pen nib pointed up rather than horizontaly to privent ink jerking out.

This makes me think of the Lamy ABC wood body pen. Something about them intrigues me, and I'll probably get one just for the fun of it.

Great review Dr. Brown! Btw, will you review the new M805 Vibrant Blue? I know I know it is just another 800/5 size Pelikan with a different finish, but, hey, still love to hear your opinion about it!

There is also the Pelikan Pelikano Junior. I think it slips in just above the Happy.

I have a different (older?) and much superior version of the Happy Pen and the differences between my version and yours are quite surprising. My version uses a tipped nib (same as on the Pelikano), has a larger body and a non-faceted grip. It was also more expensive, but not by much and did include the six pack of Pelikan Royal Blue cartridges.

Would you recommend the Pelikan Pelikano Junior or Pelikan Twist over this pen for kids(7-10)?

You should test the Pelikan Jazz which is also one inexpensive model.

I remember having a similar pen as a kid. Didn't like it :p But hey, not much more expensive than a ballpoint.

Dear Doctor Brown, I'm thinking about getting a Pelikan M1000 with an OB nib, but I'm kinda worried about the risk of getting an over-polished nib. How's your experience been with your BB nib ? And have you tried their Obliques ? Thanks !

Hai , that is a great video. I really enjoy writing with pencils, So i started searching for any writing instrument, which feels like the pencil but the writing in the logbooks dont fade away. Then one of my friend suggested me to try fountain pens. Can you suggest me some really nice affordable fountain pen please. Thank you :)
