Absolutely loved this video. My mother in-law was from Russia and although it's been years I miss her cooking. She made something similar to this but after she boiled it I think she fried them? Oh, so long ago I can't remember. She put meat and hard boiled egg inside the dumpling.

When I first got my mixer I was using it to make rocket propellant, then I found out I could use it to make bread and stuff to eat. Sounds funny but true.
Oh man they were fast food back at home. No time to cook, too hungry and tired? Jump into any store and buy a 1 kg package. Of course they would never compare to homemade, but still pretty good and convenient. And whatever you don't finish at dinner were fried on a little bit of butter the next morning. Now in USA if I want pelmeni I need to plan ahead and dedicate a day to cook them. I don't know why USA haven't picked them up. Why is there a 10 pound bag of pierogi (vareniki) at Costco, a ton of something Korean with cabbage and something sweet inside, but no pelmeni?
Looks very close to my Grandmother's Peroji :) Slovak version. I never saw her make meat ones. Only dry cottage cheese or Prune plums. But we do not know her dough. She rolled it out thin and it was transparent. I think she might have used more egg? I have hunted for dough like hers. What is sold ready made as Perogy is NOT the dough! That stuff is like a bad pie crust dough! Lol I make my pie crust, more like my grandma's Peroji! Transparent! I love the filling and not gobs of dough! Store pies drive me crazy! Between the toxic oils used and thickness? It ruins the pie! *is yours transparent?*
Почти верно. Надо ещё в бульон (воду) положить лавровый лист и перец в горошке . И еще как соус к готовому блюду надо майонез использовать , тогда точно русские пельмени будут)
