Great instructional and easy to understand. I’ve had my bike since mid March and have seen most of your videos as I’ve now completed 113 bike workouts. I’m 74 and your videos Keep it “cracking” and me engaged along with a number of instructors. My favorite is Matt Wilpers.
If I had bought say for example the Bowflex bike, I really don't think I would use it as much. There are no excuse with this, works well every time, no syncing needed, love all the metrics. I'm so glad I didn't cheap out with this, otherwise the list of excuses would of come out lol!!
You explain everything so well! And your sweet honey voice is just icing on the cake...giggle. Thanks for the info! I"m about to pull the trigger on a Peloton. I do NOT really like how much they charge for the bike itself. I think everyone out there by now is fully aware this bike is about 50% more in cost then it should be, being how they hook you for a $39.95 monthly membership cost, they can't get their money back enough through that alone? It just kinda leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. It just seems a bit like price gouging. It reflects too in their business model, as they have been struggling a bit financially lately. I hope investing in one will ensure they are around 5 years from now! I do have one very valid question, why is it a Peloton customer must pay $39.99/month for the subscription, but yet a "non-Peloton" rider can just download the Peloton App and pay $12.99/month? It's the same service isn't it? Or do Peloton's owners just get that extra luxury of getting a few extra tid bits on the screen? I don't see the value, please someone help me understand.
I am really enjoying your vids man. I've been swaying back and forth between bike and bike+. From a practical standpoint there is a technology aspect that is swaying me. More RAM and processing power on the vid screen....which is import for the future but sooo miniscule.. it def does equal the 500+ difference. Ill mull it over some more while watching your vids. Cheers to the new years.
I am planning on getting the warranty mainly because of the tablet. I got my bike in October and the headphone jack broke in November. They came out and switched out the tablet within a couple days. The tablet is the component I think would require the warranty. Also I have the Zacro bike gel seat cover from Amazon ($22) and would highly recommend it.
Anything that has moveable parts will eventually wear and tear.. I’ve had my belt changed twice in one year but I ride it A LOT. I would strongly suggest that people take advantage of the warranty. When things fail, they do so when you happen to have the least amount of money! 😊
Great video Steve. I bought a Peloton Plus and I do like the auto adjustment option for resistance. This option is a game changer for me as I don’t like fiddling with the red knob throughout my rides.
I’d definitely get the warranty extension if getting the bike+ I don’t think they’ve had enough out there to sense check their issues. I was really happy with my bike+ and then all of a sudden on 27th December it just locked up and had an error on screen. We went through a whole raft of troubleshooting but nothing fixed it and so they’re having to send me a new bike. I’ve only had it just shy of three months :( New one come 19th January so long wait probably because of their distribution issues which is pretty frustrating. Unfortunately they have me locked in I love it too much and I’ve been using the app for two years I’m just sucking it up. They’ve given me two months free membership which I might push considering one month I can’t even use it. Nice video 👍
Your video is extremely helpful thank you. I was debating getting one I found other videos was promoting it were as I feel this was very informative and genuine. Thanks 🙌🙌
Great video Steve, thanks for making this. All your videos have really helped with my decision to not only get a Peloton, but I am going to get the Bike+. For me it's not just the tilting screen, but the connection with Apple Gymkit. I know that's a lot of money for that convenience... but I'm bought into the Apple Ecosystem! Look forward to your Tread reviews in the future (I have a 4 year old Nautilus that I may upgrade in the future 😳). Thanks again!
Wow you all have the same size shoe? Lucky you. My son is a size 14 (he’s 6’5”), my husband size 11 and I’m a size 7, Peloton don’t even do size 14 shoes. My son uses the bike the most (mainly because we’re waiting for a new treadmill) as he’s doing a police foundation course and part of it is keeping fit. I suspect he will use the treadmill the most when it turns up - it comes with iFit. I did buy him padded shorts to protect his delicate arse 🤣. We mainly bought it for my husband who loves spinning.
Not anymore for me! Kids have shot up so only my wife and I can share shoes now. I have another solution for the kids to still ride without buying more shoes that works really well, video in a 3-4 weeks. Good luck to your son with his police course!
Nice video Steve, love the hack on the swivel as the ability to turn the screen and see it from a floor workout is very nice - for me though, the real need for the plus is the ability to “lock” in the resistance so that when the instructor says to turn it up it does so on it’s own - allows you to stay focused without taking hands off or whatever - either way, you have to love the eco system of Peloton. Check that feature out as it is a game changer
I would love to see how effective the bike is for weight loss. I know it’s great for the heart but the resistance training is equally or more important.
@@SteveJulien looking forward to it. I’m a bigger guy at 6’3 280 and been juggling the decision between he peloton and nordictrack. Keep up the great content.
Am almost on my hundred ride am 6 feet and when I started I was 276lbs July 1st 2021 today October 1st 245lbs so if you put in the work the weight will come down.. I ride 5 times a week and do 45 min rides sometimes 30 min but I give it a good effort.. I love the bike and I cancelled my gym no need to spend my money at the gym and I also do a little bit of weights.. Hope this help but one thing I can tell you once you get started you’ll love it

Great content as usual mate. Be interested in seeing your home gym as thinking of doing one myself. I have my bike+ and was wondering what weight sets you have for the strength classes? I do have weight plates but find it a pain to keep swapping the weights over
Thanks! I just use Hex weights which I built up over time. You’ll probably need lower weights than you’re used to as they’re very good at targeting each muscle group!
Love your reviews and videos. I just discovered them recently as I was looking into buying a Peloton bike, so I’m commenting on really old videos. I do have an unrelated question, what’s the make of the paper shredder in the corner? Thanks.
Great video Steve - your advice led me to get a Bike last month, which my wife and I are loving. Question: does fitting that bracket not invalidate the warranty?
Hi Steve, really great video (again). Watching your videos has helped me make my decision and I will be ordering one this week. Random question, where is your bike kept? I was thinking of putting it in the smaller room of my house which is upstairs. Not sure if it would be too heavy or too much noise for this though?
Thanks! You’ll love it! My bike is in my home office which has been fine. We’re converting half the garage for the arrival of the tread. It will be fine upstairs as it’s very very quiet. I would suggest two people to lift it upstairs.
Hi Steve, I can remember last year watching one of your videos where you mentioned that the Peloton bike really helped your lung capacity function and how the doctor saw the improvement when you had a check up. Do you know which video it was? I have been trying to find the video again to send over to my friend because she has problems with her lung and I have been telling her about the Peloton bike and all the great advances having one for me. It would be good if you can direct me to the video please so I can send it to her to see it’s also helped you.
Got this bike because I thought I could use the "just ride" feature! The membership fee is just too much for me! Should have bought a cheaper no frills bike. The Peloton bike is totally useless to me now.
Thanks - good review. I also prefer 20 min rides. More realistic to fit in daily. I assume the tread doesn’t require another membership? Both for the monthly fee?
Thanks! Yes, it’s a marathon but a sprint and 20 mins works well. The Tread will work on the same membership and you can also give free membership to family you live with.
Brilliant informative video, thank you. Don’t suppose you happen to have any opinion on the Apex Rides bike? On paper looks like a viable option...but just a 4kg flywheel!
Thanks! Sorry to say I haven’t heard of it. Unless they’re using some clever tech, generally the bigger the flywheel the smoother it will be. I had a bike with a small fly wheel and you could overpower it if you really went for it. This may help if you haven’t seen it already: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DvM8l6wkZsE.html

Hey there! Thanks for posting a review! I am super late to the Peloton game but what is the type of bracket you utilized for rotating the screen? Many thanks. #newsubscriber
I’m looking to get a Peloton bike and keen to do the none bike work outs too. I’m unsure whether to go for a Watt bike and Zwift subscription and use the Peloton app subscription for the non-bike stuff. Any thoughts welcome
Great and helpful video. What is the name of the extension you got for your monitor to allow it to swivel? I’m considering getting a Used 3rd Gen and this would help when I’m doing floor exercises.
Hi Steve! Awesome video l’m new to the Peloton family. I’m currently looking to purchase an Apple Watch to monitor my health rate and keep track of my workouts. However, I was told that the Apple Watch is not compatible to the Peloton is this true? If not, please explain? Thank you!
Hi! Heres the full review and fitting instructions and the link to buy is the description: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lPWi03PxGRo.html
Hi . Every review mentions how many rides it had . Is there a limit to how many rides it can last ?? Does that make any difference other than to tell us how much the bike was used ? I am seriously considering getting one since I practically have no luck with spin bikes I menage to brake them after a month but I enjoy doing spin classes so much I am 200lb woman so I don't know if I am too heavy for it ?
Hi, You will be fine. Peloton say the bikes are designed to last 7-10 years and you can also buy an extended warranty after year 1 taking the total warranty to 39 months. It’s about 10% of the cost of the bike.
Hi! Here’s the full video on how to fit it and the links are in the description. Cheers. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lPWi03PxGRo.html
Hi Steve, very informative video; thanks! About fitting that bracket to the standard bike, is there any risk of invalidating your warranty? If not then where can I get it?
Thanks! It’s a small bracket which is easily installed/removed. Here’s the full details with links to buy in the description. Cheers Steve ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lPWi03PxGRo.html
@@arannearn2625 yes please if you have one? Thanks watched loads of your reviews. Stuck between peloton and the JLL bike really. JLL price difference seems too good to be true lol. Any further advice? Thanks
I know that feeling, I watched hours and hours of videos trying to decide and talked myself in and out of it multiple times, but the overwhelming majority of people say just go for it, the real deal is worth it. There's a 30 day full, no questions asked return policy, if you don't like it, they'll come and pick it up and refund everything you have paid. That's what swayed it for me, nothing to loose, go hard for a month if you don't like it send it back. But just take a look how many people continue with it, how massive their market share is now and how long the waiting list is!! I promise I don't work for Peloton 🤣🤣 Here's a £100 code though 9NBGUF.
@@arannearn2625 excellent thank you. Is a lot of money but im like you said in your review. Don't want to buy the hack set up then have the haslt of selling to upgrade to the real deal. You pay for quality. Much appreciated thanks
I think since you altered the bike the warranty would be voided anyway? Right? I’ve considered adding the pivot but am afraid since I bought the warranty for the screen since it’s 700$ to replace.
