It bums me out when people don't like magic, and bums me out even more that the magician he came upon where he used to busk was a foul-mouthed chump. I moved back in with my parents when my dad's Alzheimer's started to get worse and my mom needed help. I was more than happy to, but it was stressful. I started randomly watching magic acts on RU-vid as a way to unwind at night. It gave me something fun to focus on, and soon I was getting decks of cards and trying to learn it myself. There are a lot of amazing less-hacky and not-so-pretentious magicians out there. Old school magicians are kind of corny (still impressive though), but guys like Justin Willman, Wes Barker, and Chris Ramsay are awesome. I love learning new methods and spending months trying to perfect them. It's so hard, but so satisfying.
