The resilience of east german began in May 2009, where RB leipzig was established, Union Berlin promoted to second tier and Energie Cottbus was relegated due to the defeat against Nurnberg in playoff. 2016, Leipzig promoted to Bundesliga within 7 years, but they are not a authentic east german club 2019, Union Berlin promoted through playoff thanked to the away goal rule

Im really happy for Leipzig. What a turn-around they had since Tedesco was appointed. I feel a bit sorry for Freiburg though, they also had a wonderful season. I hope they continue improving next season.

As a British this is my first time watching my German Cup originally DFB Pokal was on the DFB Pokal Final 2022 and im suprised smaller clubs are in the final without giant clubs such as Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund very depressing season. 😆😆😆

That's the clearest hand ball I have ever seen on Freiburgs first goal. He literally punches the ball down to the ground and towards his teammate to finish XD

00:49. If the ball hadn't hit hit his arm A. it would've jumped up more and B. it wouldn't have deflected behind him making it easier to lay off the pass for the goal. Absolutely woeful refereeing. That handball has directly played a part in a goal being scored.

I would have loved to have seen Freiburg really start attacking when they went a man up but instead Leipzig turned it up a notch. Both teams had some bad luck along the way. Well-deserved Leipzig. Freiburg though is my ❤.Every year we are in the top tier is a gift. 👍
