The ink flow video is instructive. Thanks for the link. The left oblique nib looks very nice. Was nib grinding on your radar in your earlier days of collecting or did the larger choice of nibs from makers cover that side of things?
@chrisrap52 First of all, thanks for all your content. I recall in one of your videos you recommended using a feeler gauge and I picked one up. One question I have is if you make the gap too wide, how do you make it narrower again?
Use your thumbnail to push tines back. Better to start with the thin feeler, then as use increase thickness, test pen to stop when you reach the flow you want.
I just got my first 308 in the mail, yesterday. (though, the band on the pen has 266 on it, referencing the older model) In Hawaii resin and a fine nib. The nib! I have other pen BBS pens but this nib i got yesterday! It is the silky smoothest nib I've ever written with. It even has excellent, ultra fine but VERY smooth and consistant reverse writing. Is it a fluke? I can't get over how it writes. it's incredible. Awesome video, Chris. Thank you. p.s. my 308 is inked with Colorverse Saturn V
I swapped out the PENBBS nib on a 308 for an Anderson Pens #6 1.1 stub with no issues other than some damage to the penbbs feed. I lost a few fins but it's still nice and wet. I'll tag you on Instagram of my post. Thanks Chris! aka Pen Enabler
@@chrisrap52 Thank you! Do you think mine cracked (at the bottom of the pen, where you hold it while writing) because Jowo metal il thicker or because it didn't fit in the cap being a bit longer?
Do you know what stub or ef nibs will fit on the 308? I'm hearing a lot of conflicting stories. I dont see a stub or ef for the 308 made by Bobby on Ebay.
This video may help - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-neWrDvBSwVA.html The 308 has limited clearance in cap for nib. I believe any #6 stub should fit the 308. Stub nib are generally shorter than regular nibs, An XF jinhao x750 or x450 nib will fit. There are #6 size.
@@chrisrap52 awesome thank you! I was on the fence about buying one but your videos made me fall in love with them. I have a 308 galaxy on the way with plans to get a 308 demonstrator in absinthe and a 309 with the Hawaiian colors
Hmmm so far so good. Writes well. More feedback than my architect from Paulo of fpnibs . com. I'll look at it under a loop tomorrow, to see if it needs straightening or further adjustment. I put it in a 309, with Diamine Majestic Blue, which in hindsight is probably too wet/slow drying to make a good test.
Sir your videos are very fun to watch, and despite of my busy schedule, I always find time to watch your videos and enjoy them alot,..from what I have recently seen, Are penbbs pens better than other chinese pens?
Thanks. If I could only have one Chinese pen, it would be PENBBS. They are consistently good writers, innovative design & great acrylics. Moonman & LIY make some great pens also but not as consistent as PENBBS.
@@chrisrap52 ok sir thank you,.. I have only been buying those chinese pens which are recommended by you, your true follower 😋...please keep up the good work ,. 👍🏻
