Lord Debling was honest with Penelope. He said he wanted a practical match, a woman who could manage his estate while he was away. He admitted he would be away from home alot because of his job and interests. He wanted an independent woman who didn't mind being alone. He also admitted that he wasn't interested in a love match. He pretty much made Penelope admitt her true feelings for Colin.
Debling also admitted that it wasn't out of the realm of possibility that he couldn't fall in love with her someday. Many practical marriages turn into love marriages... I think she admitted her feelings for Colin only because he admitted them to her. She thought he was out of his league up until then.
@jasminedragon7360 Yep, Debling seems to be a better match for Cressida in terms of what they both want out of marriage, but he chose Penelope over her for a reason. He's also looking for shared values and compatibility. We'll see if he gives Cressida another look or looks elsewhere.
Speaking as a woman who needs privacy and personal space, that actually sounds like the ideal living situation. 😀 It would be nice to marry a rich guy who travels all the time while I stay home and focus on my own interests.

If they decide to make Cressida and Eloise a couple, he could marry Cressida and Eloise could be her "roommate" while he's away. He gets a woman (or two women) to manage his estate and not cheat on him with another guy, and they get to love happily as a couple.
Penelope: “are you well?” Me yelling at the screen: “Girl of course he’s not well. The man is sleep deprived and feverish with lust since tasting those lips and he wants more.” Only romance book girlies will see the words play out as these two converse with their eyes only. Like what? Omg.🤭🤭
I loooove this little detail that we see Violet in the back watching Colin, that he has to courage to tell Penelope what he feels after he asked Violet about if friendship is important for love. This show is sooo good OMG 😭🥰🥰
You can tell she is wishing, hoping, & praying he will say what she wants to hear right b4 Debling comes over & while he waits there. But alas Colin is too scared to speak & freezes just like she did at the air balloon. Then you can see the final resignation on her face right before she steps away to dance, realizing that even if he did believe he had feelings - he would always be too afraid to act on them.
I’m not gonna lie seeing Colin jealous made me happy it’s about time. He feels like how Penelope been feeling for the past two seasons It’s about time he gets jealous.
I just realized Mama Bridgerton was watching Colin and Penelope’s interaction the WHOLE time from the right!! Oh I just love the attention to detail! 💕💕💕
I do not understand why the actress is criticized for her body in the series. I see her as one of the most beautiful women, and her role in the series is a role of utmost perfection and creativity. I love the character of Penelope very much.❤❤❤❤
i dont know if anyone has noticed, but Violet was looking at Pen and Colin when Colin approached Pen cause he was about to say something, until Lord Debling interrupted Polin cause it's time for their dance, and how she felt sad for Colin cause Mama Bridgerton figured out her dear son, Colin has feelings for Pen 🤭

My favorite part of this whole sequence is Violet instantly realizing who Colin wants to be with. She knows her children SO well. And the fact that you can tell she will support him is even better
The song choice for this scene was perfect. I had to go back and listen to the song “Happier Than Ever” and I swear it matched perfectly to their situation …I can see Penelope telling the words to this song to Colin. Good job Bridgeton 👏👏👏
Yeah I noticed that as well....He definitely has his mom's support when it comes to her son being with Penelope(even giving him some advice when it comes to friendship and love), that's for sure, even though his annoying sister Eloise won't give Penelope her support yet because Penelope hasn't told Colin that she's LW!
Look, I heard the cast say that (Jess) the new show Runner did a great job for season 3 but for what I’m seeing she didn’t they need to bring (Chris) back and redo the entire-thing. The first unforgivable offense that she made was making Colin a rake . From the moment I heard that they were going to turn Colin into a rake I knew that they ruined him. And ruined the entire story for me. They should’ve just copied and paste the fanfic because they did it better. The previous show runner said that Colin was the sensitive one because he was raised amongst his sisters 👯♀️ playing dolls 🎀and the age gap between him and his two older brothers. Makes him less likely to be a womanizer like his older brothers. so in season 1 and 2 they were setting Colin up to be a romantic demisexual. Hence why he wouldn’t kiss Marina. And I don’t give a damn about Cressida either her pointless redemption arc is eating up screen time. We don’t have space or time for her. She is meant to be a villain why can’t she just be a villain? 🦹🏼 The short coming in the writing is very noticeable in Lady Whistledown and Porsha Featherington those two characters lost their spice and sass. 💁🏽♀️ The narration for whistledown is not as gripping and compelling as it used to be. Proven by the fact that I can’t think of a single memorable or iconic line/quote that she said in 4 episodes. And the love confession is no bane of my existence or I burn for you. Here’s some thing Colin could’ve said that would’ve memorable. I’ve been driving mad by you. You’re a siren goddess that haunts my dreams. Him thinking she’s a siren goddess in his internal monologue. When they first kiss 😘. His love confession would’ve been the perfect opportunity to let us know what was going on in his internal monologue.
Eh, personally I was thinking this season would be her exit. I’m not sure what role she would play in the seasons to come and was confused as to why she isn’t married yet, considering she’s not a bad catch. While she is a jerk at times, she’s also pretty, rich, and charming so it’s a wonder why she hasn’t gotten hitched. I don’t see her character being relevant in Benedict’s season (if he’s next), or Francesca’s season, MAYBE in Eloise’s season if they still have this little “friendship”. I really want to see Penelope stick up to Cressida in part 2 of the season though if she tries her again, and Cressida needs to get married and bounce.
Me realizing colin is probably the most like his father who I'm assuming married violet young going against the grain of putting off marriage as long as possible. He's unlike his peers and I love it
Everytime I watch this scene and Colin's expressions, you can see the jealousy, to the ache he feels, the surprise of the different emotions he is and has been feeling - to the slow understanding that as soon as he sees Penelope smiling as she dances with Lord Debling. That he knows for sure, that He has Fallen in love with his best friend and his true companion Penelope 💖 and those endearing and watery glossed eyes watching every moment just makes your heart sore and ache for Colin ❤😢🥲🥲
This is my favorite scene so far in season 3, I put it above the carriage scene. Him tearing up... I have no words. What an acting accomplishment. Which, by the way, count for both Nicola & Luke in every single scene they are in. 💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘

at 0:31 you can hear his heart beat, and if you look at his mouth closely it looks like he wanted to say “i love you” but nothing came out. literally his worst nightmare, he’s fearful rejection!!
I ship lord Debling and Cressida so much! He's a really compassionate, honest person who doesn't judge those that step out of the norm (in fact he admres it). Cressida has lived under judgment all her life, he would empower her to be herself. They would also understand each other and bond over their family issues. With him being away a lot, she would still be able to be in social situations and gossip IF SHE WANTS but wouldn't HAVE to. Also his kindness and compassion would be a boon to her. It also looked like he is the first guy she showed actual connection/romantic interest in Honestly i ship them so much

Lord Debling was a green flag. I dont know why the second male leads are so much better than the main ones. Debling and the prince were much better than Colin and the duke.
The thing about romance is that it’s got to be sparkling, fierce and feels like your heart wants to jump right out or it could burst when u stand close to the one whom one has given it to. With debling and the prince both ladies would have a safe marriage. No spark. But with the duke and Colin, 🔥 ⚡️ sparks, enticing, fear and pulse acceleration. That is what a relationship should be. If they had married the aforementioned, the marriage would be a boring one. 🙏

Daphne didnt even know that the Duke didnt want kids or the why behind it. All they had was lust. Penelope wanted to subconsciously be Bridgerton- pretty and privileged and Colin was the only guy who was nice to her. Come on Colin you've been ignoring Penelope for years and only are interested when she looks like she has found someone else. I don't know why I still can't take my eyes away. At this point I just want Pen to end up with someone who treats her well and makes her happy.
I know Colin is the right choice for Penelope, but I can't help but wish she ended with Lord Debling. He's so handsome, gentlemanly and I love that he loves nature and exploring. However, it was kind of a dick move to be jealous of Colin when he even admitted he was interested in Penelope only as a "practical match". Maybe there's some fanfiction out there where Debling and Penelope fall in love and end up together xD
I just started watching this show and love penelope already so heartbreaking seeing her watch colin get used by her cousin. Cant wai for him to realise Penelope is worth it. His mom knows she is since she was watching her son watch Penelope. Glade mom approves of her!!
Collin Penelope scenes were very few. The slow build up of love like in other seasons was not in season 3 .. too many side tales and tooooo many distractions

I know Penelope had her awful moments throughout the whole show specially in season 2 but I somehow totally relate to her. She was a wallflower, people like us might be noticed but also won't get to be pursued by other people. People like us don't expect much anymore but still hoping. People like us don't have a choice unlike people like Daphne and Anthony. I was crying this whole moment because of how I hardly relate to her.I am so happy for her character. 😭

You see pen's dance card doesn't have debling's name on it.. so he instinctively felt there's something and came to interrupt polin's convo... it shows at 1:11 but the quality here isn't that good
