These should remind us why we should never go to war again and why we should not let politicians dictate . If they want to fight put them in a ring and hurt each other not the rest of us who want to live in peace together.
This is really cool. I love that people are out there uncovering history before it completely disappears. And let's not pretend this isn't a dangerous job. What with all the landmines that are STILL around from WWI and WWII all around the world.
I really appreciate the way you dig. I've watched so many videos where people just dig in a very chaotic and not functional way :) My father taught me as a child how to dig in snow and in soil, so when people aren't organize I almost can't look. Keep up the good work!
I came to say how bad the digging was, and find someone praising their digging lol. What if fossil hunters dug this way, just ripping the boxes apart in the mud? That was the most destructive way lol... not good
The kettel of Demjansk was the place were the "Frikorps Danmark" had their first contact with the Red Army. Their famous leader C.F Von Schalburg was killed here in 1942 when he stormed against the enemy. He later had a unit of Scandinavian volunteers named after him (Schalburg korpset). Frikorps Danmark was later renamed into Division Nordland and they where among the last SS units in Berlin in 1945. Rest in peace to all killed, no matter under which flag.
@@carsonsmith168 Then you owe me.. My hair is fairly long. I am Danish myself and loves history, especially the part they are not teaching us in school. Your narrow minded and judgemental beliefs can go somewhere else. I guess your American knowledge of the world, has robbed you from the ability to think of people different from yourself as anything but "skinheads". (Which havent been a thing in right wing circles for 20 years).
I've watched a few videos, I don't understand why you always destroy all the archaeology. Surley shell in a preserved box and with packaging and labels with dates and origins is far better than tearing it all apart to oose shells and bullets
Collectors are paying huge sums of money for German militaria these days. These guys aren’t Archeologists, they’re grave robbers and opportunist; that’s all. They talk a big game about repatriation of bones sending them back to Germany, but it’s all horseshit. They dig constantly like Gold Miners with the hope one day they’ll find a preserved P08, MP40 or something similar so they can sell it.
Anyone else cringe when dude taps on the grenade casings? iya-moley! Careful there man! Love this find, quite the piece of history, a great video and soon off for the next on this one :) Cheers from Canada PNW!
My guess you could get a good price for that ammo can. Normally they are pretty cheap but the fact it came from a hole where people were killed or did the killing probably makes it more desirable.
i guess you dont know there are thousands of years old mammut remains in this soil which have even fur thanks to the low level of oxygen there is no rotting or corroding so it has nothing to do with german engineering
No not at all😂 how do you think minors did there job. An a abandoned mine whatsoever 150 years old. You can go in and the wood struts are still in place. Nothing to do with German engineering. Germans never mined to my knowledge.
@@joeburrows6 ... why should they rot, if the abandoned mine is dry? And olebromm is totally right with his statement. Also, germans are mining for 1000 years. Silver, Cooper, Iron, Gold, Coal... you Name it. There is even one Mountain in Niedersachsen named Rammelsberg which is mined incessant since 1000 years. Didnt wanna lebt you die, lets say, uninformed...
There didn't seem much attempt to preserve the archeology or integrity of the surroundings, just random spade work and "if it's fastened, break it open!", seemed to be their motto. But interesting to watch all the same.
while I find this interesting, I cant help but get a feeling of grave robbery. I understand that this is for historical purposes however, so it quickly vanishes.
German army was under orders to recover all war materials and return them for recycling after use. Looks like this position was lost before the order was carried out.
@@Thedar561 playing with unexploded ordinance is not very smart. I don't know what "cartoons" you are referring to, but there is a reason why people are warned to stay on marked pathways in places like Verdun.
Are you not aware that you are potentially unearthing ancient live ordinance. Boys tapping a shell with a hammer ,,, It was a cool exploration, glad it wasn’t a cool explosion 💥
