Oh, the gave him a track of his own and not the Tower Knight track again. Nice, I'm glad they actually bothered to give him his own sound this time. Can't really gauge it against the original, since...it was just the Tower Knight theme again.

If you listen to the later moments of this track you can hear the motif from the new tower knight theme. (E flat, D, E flat, C, D)

I guess it's not that dumb seeing that both bosses are really linked imo. One has "Attack is the best defense" as mantra while the other has "Defense is the best offense". Makes sense they share a similar theme whilst making the Penetrator's theme more fast paced cause he attacks and Tower Knight slower cause he waits for you to come to him, in addition to others small tweakings.

My guy barely killed Penetrator today and I couldn't stop listening to the music. It gave me chills...and here I am. This theme is just....Glorious. I'm getting chills again. Fromsoft knows their f'king music.

@@GVLSCH True, but you gotta remember the remade soundtracks also revamp the original OST. Penetrator and Tower Knight still share the same motif as the original OST despite both being heavily altered versions.

The part at 0:34 to 0:50 sounds really familiar to me for some reason, the higher pitched part playing behind the main tune. It's kinda bothering me since I can't remember where I've heard something very similar. That aside, this one seriously good tune.

Funny how, when there's no old theme to compare it to, this one is weirdly not that bloodborne like which the rest of the soundtrack is so often criticised and destroyed about. I don't know up to where hypocrisy can go. Because there's a limit between nostalgia and just trashing a game on every aspect because it's different from the original...

This comment is borderline incoherent. Were you trying to say it's funny how people don't criticize the music when there isn't an old track to compare it to? If so... yeah. Most people aren't saying the soundtrack is bad. They're saying that in it's attempt to be more grandiose and epic it loses a lot of the little touches that made demon's souls soundtrack distinct and memorable.

Are you kidding? This sounds just like Father Gascoin for the first half minute. Albiet with a lot more heavy brasswork that the original demon's had everywhere. It falls a lot more into a dramatized version of DeS though. Never knew how I felt about the movie soundtrack feel.

This game doesn't have terrible music, it's very good orchestral music, but by comparison to the original, every track sounds too similar, lacking character and the feeling of dauntingness. Like the soul (pun kind of intended) is sucked out of them a bit. If I heard some of the boss music in this and someone asked me to name what boss the song belongs to, I'd find it harder to do than with the original. The music in the original is incredibly memorable with the way the vocals work with the strings and drums, the remake doesn't distinguish itself from your typical game or film orchestral music very well to give the vibe/atmosphere the original gave.
