I'm glad to see a family coaster. Not all coasters have to be 300 feet tall with ten inversions and go over 100 mph. It's good to see a family coaster...so more people will ride it.
There’s things I’d do differently like add at least one animatronic penguin, a dark ride portion at the end too and music or at least some sound effects throughout the ride like the drops you’d hear penguin sounds. Anyway, other than what my Disney and universal mind wants, this coaster still looks a lot like fun
Ya the station theming is good but it's disappointing it doesn't keep the themeing throughout the ride. I would love a section where you do a drop surrounded by penguin statues who are sliding on their stomach's or something idk
I agree, but we cant have everything like Universal and Dinsey. Its just they said this ride was going to be their best display of themeing yet, and its still not that impressive.
Can't wait for them to do 2 people operating the coaster with no grouper and 1 train causing this ride to have horrible wait times like all of their other coasters.
I love family coasters! I went to Dollywood for Lightning Rod and ended up with Big Bear Mountain being the real standout for me there. Can’t wait to ride this in a couple months!
Honestly, a nice first coaster for the "big kids" 🥰 Seaworld just needs to lean a lot harder into theming and they just might be able to give the big two a run for their money with the next 5 years 👀
This is another coaster at seaworld I’ve slept on and it actually looks interesting!! I’ll definitely check it out and make it my 160th coaster (according to LogRide)!!!
This is more like what ice breaker should've been IMHO. I still like ice breaker but I can't help but feel like this is a much more complete project. I guess Ice Breaker is still a step up in intensity from this, and before the other coasters in the park. Looks great though! I can't wait to ride!
B&M, much like Vekoma, has come a long, long way since their early days. To me, Penguin Trek looks like a decent family ride with just that right amount of kick.
Ride looks fun. Whatever camera stabilization is going on here, is among the worst I’ve ever seen. We’re on the brake run & the camera is still banked 30°… a bit ridiculous.
Thank you for sharing. So I decided to give it a go after watching your video. Umm I didn't realize the video was slow motion because let me tell you, that thing shoots you off. Kids enjoyed my torture however that will be my only time on that ride. haha!! Disclosure; I am not a roller coaster person since I've grown older.
The screening immediately takes me away from what is an otherwise really cool indoor scenery, and then post-launch it’s just an outdoors white track… Either way they’re doing a fun job at adding family friendly coasters and I’ve gotta make a trip to SeaWorld to try this out and do Pipeline again!
Dan, thanks for taking us all on your first ride. Video was awesome and loved your assessments once the train was pulling back into the station. Now I am stoked for my first ride likely in September.
Please tell me they’ll not use only 2 seat checkers if they want to run three trains. No stacking them! But they did the same for manta when it opened and look where it’s at now…
This is kind of giving me Disneyland Matterhorn vibes at the beginning, only… South Pole instead of the Alps. The course looks pretty legit for a family-style ride. Definitely appears fun. If anything could’ve been different, or possibly done later, I think they could’ve maybe had more of the track enclosed, like the Matterhorn, or more of the ride weaving in and out of the "ice tunnels" that start the ride.
