I guess if anyone wants more in-depth analysis and explanation of Penguindrum as a whole, I'd recommend these vids, "Why Mawaru Penguindrum is like Curry", "Penguindrum: The 3 Tips You Need to Understand It", and if interested of the director, "Kunihiko Ikuhara: A Revolutionary Director of Anime" (a 2 hour one, but hella interesting). This show and director really means a lot to me...

Thank you for this in depth. Watched Penguindrum during my high school days all I got are head aches and nusea and confusion so sadly never managed to finish it and had to just Google the story.

I loved this anime and I try to rewatched it but lacking japanese historical context and being more weeby (at the time) than actual thinking japan as nation, I took its more philophic approach but by the gods did I not understand the timeline and I am so glad you've helped me understand the ordering of episodes, because while I believed I understood 78% of the themes pointed about, alot was loss due to both ingorance and being naive.
