Great choice for a video Dennis. I know little about this reel yet have seen many of them. It is a later reel than I usually collect and use but if it has an AR override it might interest me! I like seeing a reel that is heavily used unless I’m buying it! LOL! Unfortunately I see no override so I’m out on this one but still very interested. I do like a metal cased reel. All my SS Penns are metal cased. Dennis I use gloves on both my hands for disassembly and cleaning and then will remove my right hand glove for reassembly. That’s my system. I’ll tell you what Dennis, the Penn 850ss reel you found me is a beast of a reel that is great for surf fishing!!! This reel was quite dirty. One strength of this reel is its durability and longevity. I find many modern reels lacking in that respect. Dennis, do you occasionally find that some sealed bearings just don’t spin as good as those that aren’t sealed. I find this when I sometimes replace open bearings with sealed ones in my older vintage spinning reels. I’ve put HT-100 drag washers in all my Penn spinning reels except my old Greenies. I now have 14 Greenies in my collection. Other than no AR override, I like this reel. It is a good one! Thanks a lot for sharing this one. - Chris
