What cael has been able to do at Penn is mind blowing, his wrestlers keep getting better the longer their there and it seems 9 out of 10 times they deliver on the big show, for him to develop mentally and physically wow great job cael

Carter Starocci is a class act. Ran into him and Casey in the airport in Madrid; both of them were asking me questions; I was simply curious what brought them to Spain and wanted to leave them alone, but they took time to talk. Everyone should want to be a part of this group of men, nothing but class.

@@yourdaddy6030 Parris dominated the #3 (Hendrickson) and #4 (Cassiopi twice) in his weight class and beat the #2 guy (Kerk) three times. Vito had a loss in the regular season to Glory. Parris also led the nation in pins (11) and had a 63% bonus rate. Parris statistically had a far more dominant season than Vito and went undefeated. The only other guys with an argument are Starocci, O'Connor, and Alirez.

I genuinely believe Lee was in a state of shock which prevented him from continuing to wrestle. It’s not about excuses or will to win or any injury After a gut wrenching loss he just couldn’t muster up the energy to continue. We’ve all been there.

Agreed. And that does qualify for a medical forfeit. But, he should have clarified why he medically forfeited because fans began to twist themselves in knots making excuses for him and trying to steal the credit from Ramos. All Ramos did was outwrestle Lee on this day. The spectacle that followed was all Lee's doing.

Sl conditioning coming of double acl surgery was his downfall this year. He could handle wrestling a duel once a week but the grind of the tournament was to much in my opinion. Still one of the greats, I’m not an Iowa fan but I was gutted for lee.

Stop making excuses for Spencer. If Spencer didn’t think he could compete at the national level he wouldn’t have competed. Spencer lee said it himself excuses are for wusses.
@Incongruous1989
@Incongruous1989 Год назад
He was not hurt. He made that clear. He was simply outwrestled. He also made that clear. He did not look tentative about taking shots. He took one within seconds of the match starting. He took a LOT of shots as the match progressed. Matt Ramos simply shut down his offense. Ramos learned from their last match that he had to defeat Lee's attempts to pin him, which he did. Then, he had to come up with a pinning combination of his own. We saw him practice it during the match, when he head/arm pinched Lee and rolled him at the end of the first period. Someone said Ramos simply got lucky. Well, luck is when preparation meets opportunity. We saw Ramos' preparation when he flawlessly executed the pinning combination he had prepared, at precisely the moment he saw an opportunity. That's wrestling.

Penn State still dominant, but...losing 3 of 5 in the finals after I believe losing only twice in the finals in the Cael era, plus RBY getting resoundly beaten by Vito, takes a lil bit of luster off of their otherwise dominating performance...never mind that they had 5 in the finals, two others place 3rd, and another AA :)

Spencer had a great career. However, I don't want to hear; "He had no ligaments in his knees. The reason is that no one talked about it while he was winning. No one would've known had he not said anything about it. The only people you tell are your coaches. You can't just fall to that when you lose. We all know that if he won, no one would've said a word.

He wasn’t hurt, but he had double acl surgery a little over a year ago. His conditioning was way off and he wasn’t as sharp as he would have been. He probably took 6 to 7 months with no wrestling. The ncaa tournament is a grind he wasn’t as prepared through no fault of his own. I know he will come back from this a better wrestler, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins an Olympic medal.

@HDVICTORY ford just this tournamnet? What a joke. The whole trope of Spencer Lee does not look like himself has been the ongoing theme ever since he lost to Sebastian Rivera. You say Spencer Lee didnt look like himself? I say Spencer Lee has looked the same the past 5 years. Ramos was beating Spencer during the dual 8-1 during the first before Lee pinned him. I believe had Ramos avoided the pin, he would have won in the 3rd. The match was not a fluke. It was a deliberate absolute legitmate win.
