It is so sad that he lost his life and the guys who encouraged, then negligently allowed him to deteriorate, only served a few months before they resumed their lives. It's heartbreaking for his loss. A complete miscarriage of justice and demonstration of privilege.

If I were their son’s training dummy then why are they opposed to hazing? That doesn’t make sense. Using a hypnotized man as a training dummy for torture and brainwashing is the ultimate form of hazing. October 24, 2019.

They do. Most universities require freshmen to complete it. While it isn't necessarily fun to go through, you can't not learn something from it. The University of Georgia uses AlcoholEdu, I'm sure there are others.

Okay. Let me just try to understand. Somebody gets a head injury. He's unconscious. And the people around him, just assume that he's just sleeping off his drunkeness. I'm guessing they just didn't know that if you become unconscious from a head injury, you're supposed to go to the hospital in case of a concussion. Then maybe we need proper basic medical education for everyone. Because just informing everyone of wrongdoing isn't solving any problems.

So, let's get this straight, no disrespect to the family, but I have not heard about him getting drunk. I know I will take some heat for this, but he does have a very minor part in this . Everyone involved should slam this Fraternity, pull their charter, kick them of campus, and be charged to the max. My heart goes out to the family and hazing should be a crime. AEKDB

Yes thank you. I actually attended a live presentation about this from his parents and after hearing the facts it’s no one’s fault but Tim’s. I don’t get why people are so quick to dismiss the fact he wasn’t supposed to be drinking at all and yet when an underage kid decides to drink in excess terrible things can happen. It’s sad but it’s not anyone’s fault but Tim’s and they really just manipulated the story and emotions to get people mad at the fraternity and pass blame onto others.

The fraternity gets immediately punished for alcohol abuse. It's no surprise that students would hesitate to go to authority figures for help.

Yes it wasn’t hazing at all, but a pregame event. The pledges could leave at anytime and were not chained with a bottle to finish. The parents just attacked the wrong people and failed to see their underage son should not have been drinking and was at fault.

@teresacontreras4999
@teresacontreras4999 5 лет назад
Here is how. He was a minor. Determined by the state, and psychology, to be mentally undeveloped enough to recognize the effects of alcohol. They not only providing him with it (illegally), but pressured him to drink it and then failed to get him help when he experienced ramifications (negligence). You can't give a kid alcohol. In the eyes of the state and psychological community, he is still a kid. If someone falls down a flight of stairs you call EMS immediately. Everyone knows that, unless you played a part in it. Which these guys see they did and failed to take responsibility for their actions and his wellbeing.

@@teresacontreras4999 Tim was allowed to leave at anytime. These pledges weren’t locked in a room with a bottle. They were drinking on their own accord and never were taught to say no I guess. This was 100% what happened. Hearing them give the real story at a seminar they held was eye opening they just wanted to manipulate the story for themselves. Tim was at fault for drinking and attending this event willingly. He was allowed to leave at anytime but didn’t and when an underage kid gets drunk bad things can happen.
@melodie1844

does not matter. all of that flies out the window once multiple witnesses see an unconscious injured person, proceed to hit and slap that unconscious person, refuse to call the authorities or help for HOURS, and then try to cover it up. his death was super preventable and their choice to do nothing is now their fault.
@emofbi4935

@@whowouldcare542”attending this event willingly” i don’t think you’re understanding the magnitude of alcohol that they drank. and the fact that someone fell down the STAIRS and nobody did anything. told a bystander that there was no need to call for help. not to mention that this guy tried like hell to come to consciousness but couldn’t due to the injuries he had sustained. on top of those existing injuries one of his frat “brothers” allegedly punched him in the face, had shoes thrown at him and backpacks placed on him in order to stop him from rolling over. at one point do you stop and realize that yes, maybe joining a frat is not a good idea-however, you can have empathy towards a person that COULD have been saved if they had been surrounded by people who cared more about the sanctity of human life rather than their stupid fucking frat getting in trouble. god
