Hey BEAT family! Technical difficulties today but we got our video out. This is a question that so many people have asked me over the years that I finally got around to answering. Let me know your thoughts below. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
Thank you Rev Parr! I joined an academic fraternity in College - however at my Christian University - Greek houses and social Greek organizations were banned. I was still in clubs and don’t feel I missed out socially at all.
Since he won't say it I will! Christians should NOT join these organizations. I denounced my membership to AKA and never looked back. He's not telling people what we actually did when we pledged and the rituals and oaths we took part in. This video is actually disappointing
The biggest reason why I never joined a fraternity, aside from the immoral activities, was the secrecy of the process and the history of the organizations. It would have definitely hindered my witness! Much love brother Allen!
I joined one when I was in my BA and it was for honor students and it only recognized honors. There was no stepping or none of them at stuff fraternity’s do.
When I pledging, there was a moment that one of the sisters said something to the effect that I should be grateful for the sacrifices that the founding sisters made so that I would have the privileges they were affording me. I laughed and responded, "Ain't none of them sistah's named Jesus, and none of them died on the cross and conquered death and sin for me, so I don't need these and I surely don't need them. I know who I am and whose I am". I never looked back. I don't think greek societies are for christians, they make covenants to spirits, that's the big secret. they never tell you that until the very end. God tells us we are not to put any other gods above him. Simple and plain.
So because of the Jim Crow laws at the time blacks were segregate so many women came to gather to build a bond, sisterhood and to educate the community so I’m sure that’s why she said that. It’s more a historical thing than anything else and has nothing to do with your beliefs in God. Trust me I know who I am too and god is the center of my life but I also believe I have the opportunity to impact the world and that’s the main mission of these organizations . Now I know some may do dark things or against the laws of the organization but mine doesn’t
You are absolutely right, that's the part that people are ignoring is the problem that still make it with demon spirits the songs, hell weak, crossing the burning sands, and dancing stepping the secular songs. The tattoos and the branding are alarming sign in itself but people completely ignore it because they want the lust of the flesh, the less of the eyes, and the pride of life
@@tamekabarnes8538 All American historical facts aside, the bible specifically speaks against these organizations and their evil practices. You're not living for God if you're part of these groups, it's biblically impossible. Get to know God by reading His word and you'll know better.
I WAS A Q AND THE CLOSER I GOT AND THE MORE I SURRENDERED TO YAHUA ELOHIM HE TOLD ME TO TAKE EVERYTHING I HAD FROM MY FRAT AND THROW IT IN THE TRASH NEVER TO WEAR OR PROFESS AGAIN AND I DID IT WAS ALREADY ON MY HEART!
Ummmm as a leader and follower/believer of Christ you don’t have a problem with sororities and fraternities? Why???? Fraternities and Sororities are not of God......you said you resigned from your position as president.... but did you come out from amongst your fraternity.....did you denounce/renounce from them?
No, they shouldn't! I spiritually denounced DST in 2013 and went through the official withdrawal process in 2018. Praying current members and those considering joining receive God’s Truth, so that they, too, may be delivered from the lies and bondage these secret societies bring. 🙏🏽

Thank you for this video brother Parr. I actually denounced and renounced my membership from Delta Sigma Theta a couple of years ago, after the Holy Spirit literally told me to do so. I then began to study the origins of secret societies (not just the BGLOs), and I was so grieved that I had ever taken the oath. In this last hour, we as Christians must decide who we are truly serving....man or God. It could be a truly difficult decision for many to leave these organizations, especially if they've been members for many years. But for me, it came down to who do I love more...and who do I seek to please - God or man? I'm sincerely praying for all those (even in my own family and circle of friends) to trust God, and do what He leads them to do.
Amen!!!! If people really knew what was going on in the spiritual realm they would 🏃♀️. God and Satan and are both seeking souls. You can’t be a servant of two masters.
I'm thankful to read your testimony. I was almost a full member of kappa kappa but I got out because it was too expensive and I also beleived fraternities were cults.
I denounced my co-ed business fraternity this year after I accepted Jesus back into my life & felt convicted! The origin of these organizations are not biblical and the process to get in is quite disturbing / demonic for many. Thanks for answering this question and sharing your experience!
To God be the glory for your obedience; to do what the Lord placed on your heart.🙏 ❤ I'd had the same revelation regarding the need to denounce. God bless❤

Allen I absolutely love the fact that you don’t steer from difficult topics! I took a lot of heat for teaching about this but I wouldn’t take one word of it back. So so so many preachers coward down and water the word down when it relates to this. They try to justify everything you mentioned. The Word says what it says! The fact that so many young people are encouraged by Christians- pastors included to participate in BGLO, knowing all that it entails, is just mind boggling to me. Again- THANK YOU!

I was super close to joining a BGLO about 2 or so years ago. Me and all my friends were so excited to be going through it together. But I just genuinely could not shake the conviction that I had over it. And believe me, I tried because my flesh literally wanted this so bad! But I was doing some research regarding the rituals and poems that need to be recited and all the hazing (which every GLO claims they don’t do, but they do) and the Holy Spirit would not let me go through with it, so I dropped. Like you, I caught slack for it but like you said, it’s Christ over Culture. I have no doubt that these orgs do great things, but Christ is most definitely not at the center. Thank you for sharing this!
Imani u are saying my story! Except I wasn’t as self aware as you were but God is so good. I was THAT close to pledging delta. It just seemed like a cool thing to do and the delta girls were my friends. But I didn’t like the hazing I was hearing about. I didn’t like the secrecy aspect either. It seemed like God kept throwing issues at me like financial issues and doing better in school that overwhelmed me and forced me to put pledging on the back burner. Years later I’m so happy God had mercy to stop me from pledging. I’m know so much more about Christ now. Stay blessed girlfriend:)
@@heather7119 Yes! The secrecy was a huge thing for me as well. If there is truly nothing to hide about intake, why the secrecy? Praise Him for giving us eyes to see and ears to hear. God Bless you too, sis (:
This guy did not denounce the freemason which is what fraternities and sororities are. He sat on the fence without a clear-cut position and so I think I know exactly which side of the fence he sits on. This is why I would rather read my bible and allow the Holy Spirit to guide me instead of listening to any other!!
Man brother Parr I wish you had put this video out a year or more ago. My oldest son pledged to be a part of a fraternity and because I didn't know that much, my wife and I didn't object. However, I can see the negative effects its having on him and his faith. My prayer is that God will lead him in a similar way that He led you to get out of it.
God gave me revelation about Greeks & sorority pledging before I was saved. I was always dreaming to go to college, but that type of organizations never sat right with me. When I became saved the revelation from God got attention again & deeper, so I went to studying. I now tell my going to college children that those organizations are not of God & explain why. Also how the college campus will have many religions, groups, etc. coming at you to join something just like the world. It is what you learned in Christ to teach you the ways
Thankfully, due to some issues with being able to pay dues my son is now out of the fraternity. Being in that group led him into some stuff that's not good. However, God is at work and my prayer is full repentance and a return to the truth of God's Word.
@@danielrecommends I'm so happy to hear this. You mentioned that Parr was out of his fraternity but he is actually still a member. You can view several RU-vid videos of Christians who came out of their greek orgs...search "denounce fraternity &/or denounce sorority." You are a good father.
Check out the RoC network on utube. Allen and the young man running that network will help you grow and understand more and more. Im so thankful for these young men of God. They really make it clear what a choosen teach looks like.
Yes! My mom thought I was “doing too much” when I explained that this is why I didn’t want to pledge during my freshman year. Thank you for sharing this because I see so many proclaiming Christians saying there’s nothing wrong with being in Greek life.
Great video; however I am against Fraternities/sororities/ secret societies (you mentioned not being against them). I was once a member of Delta Sigma Theta. I renounced almost 2 years ago after being a member for 20 years.. I struggled with renouncing for years. One day, I looked at the ritual book and the scales were finally removed from my eyes. I realized I was worshipping other gods and it is a false sense of sisterhood, among other things. I repented and now I'm no longer listed on their roster. I thank the Lord for deliverance and for answering His call .
That’s amazing! Growing up I always wanted to be apart of DST and even began the process but then was very much convicted. Even them saying all of my love my peace and happiness I’m gonna give it to Delta never sat right with me… I give those things to my God alone. You did the right thing!
I've seen a lot of denouncement videos on RU-vid in the past couple years. The ministry Out From Among Them has several forums about it. I'm so glad that so many of you have come out of these organizations. Praise God!
@@dannieden4596 Out from Among Them Ministries provided support and encouragement. I had no idea what to do or where to start. I thank the Lord for this ministry 🙂.
I'm over here crying listening to this. I'm in my classroom having a hard time dealing with this issue. I have already pledged a Grad chapter of Divine 9. Like I'm still in my neo year and the conflict in my spirit has been bugging me like crazy. I have been saved for some years now but just recently really been getting into my word. Because of my choice to go with the frat and I am now fighting to keep my marriage and my mental health. Trying to detach me from this is hard. But your video helped. Thank you.
If it is causing disturbance within you, it is ok to let it go. Nothing is worth that. May the Lord bless you with the clarity you need to decide what is best for you and you rrelationship with Him; the stregnth in Him to do it; and the joy in your soul to not carry any regrets.
And the weird part is that a LOT of Black churches (baptist and ame mostly) have a special Greek Sunday like once a year🤦🏽♀️... the idea of doing your “call” and hand symbols and giving shoutouts to each NPHC organization in the sanctuary never set well with me
A Phi brother/Pastor Allen! Knew there was a reason I loved this guy! I agree there are non-Christian aspects of our dear fraternity. Therefore we must be sober minded and vigilant. I joined because of family legacy and the aims align with who I am: Manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind. This is why the Holy Spirit is so important, He gives us discernment on matters such as this!
Holy Spirit isn't telling you that as a Christian pastor you are in right standing with the Most High God as a member of a secret society. Are you saying Holy Spirit has affirmed your role in your fraternity as furthering the Kingdom of The Most High God?
Great topic. No judgment! But I’m glad I never pledged. Some ppl be more serious about/loyal to these black Greek letter orgs than their marriages! Lol
Agreed... she left me and put more time and effort into this when she barely met this groups and people haha.. what a shame. I would’ve gave her the world man and with Christ
@@reginaldsmith8489 What's wrong with judging? The Bible says don't judge if you're not ready to be judged the same way. But it doesn't say don't judge. On the contrary, it calls us to be judges of angels and earthly disputes. 1 Cor 6:3
As a believer, I feel it's pointless and fleshly. It causes us to rely on people to gain access, to get ahead or whatever benefits may come along with joining these organizations. The safest place is to join and fellowship with sisters and brothers in Christ whose purpose is to encourage one another while advancing the Kingdom
Great video, Pastor Parr. I pledged Alpha over 30 years ago. I too walked away after coming to the full knowledge of Christ. Fraternity life was totally contrary to my Christian walk. I applaud you for your boldness in teaching on this topic. Not many Pastors will touch this. God bless you.
I also pledged a Fraternity in College. This information doesn’t point out the importance of Jesus’s teachings. The key is, you are pledging to and part of an organization that worships a false Greek god. Therefore, your information can be a stumbling block because there is nothing that should be considered for a true blood washed believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible also says don’t even give the appearance of evil. You knock women Pastors, yet you are compromising Gods word by endorsing an Organization and parts of the pledge process while attempting to throw out the other. How can two walk together unless they agree?” Equally troubling is the emblem of the fraternity, the Sphinx of Gaza found in Egypt. Sphinxes were idol gods worshipped by Egyptians. They had the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh. Pharaohs were considered deities to their people, and were immortalized by these sphinxes. How does God feel about sphinxes and other Egyptian idols? Well, Ezekiel 20:7 says “Get rid of the vile images you have set your eyes on, AND DO NOT DEFILE YOURSELVES WITH THE IDOLS OF EGYPT, I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD.” God views those idols as “defiling”, yet this is the emblem representing the fraternity and its members. He said to have no other gods before him. There is no compromising in that because God is a jealous God. He said to love thy God, with ALL thy heart soul, and mind. And then he said to love your neighbor, not a false Greek god as yourself. Consequently, if you have not renounced it, you are still a part of it. Period. God is not co-sharing his GLORY with a false Greek god.
he didnt say he denounce the organization and also he said he is not against the organization. Also he didnt say no you shouldn't join. He also said my fraternity brothers. He is trying to say no without saying no, while ultimately saying yes you can join at the same time. As Christians we shouldn't be trying to play the middle ground. This brother needs to totally denounce the organization. You can't serve two masters...
@@Proverbs-vw2sc I have listen to him before and he sound like one of those ministers who got their calling and salvation from divinity school NOT CHRIST. I have a lot to account.for. going back to church...sad me..

Thank you so much Allen Parr for this video! 7 years ago, when I was in university, I was highly considering about joining either PHI Beta Sigma or kappa alpha Psi fraternity. By the grace of God and with my family not supporting the idea of me joining, I didn't join those fraternities. Those fraternities are dangerous and they can cause one to loss their soul and salvation. Secrecy is not good. God wants us to be pure in him and wants us to be a witness to a dying world. As Jesus said, we are the light of the World. God bless you Allen Parr! Happy Sabbath and have a good and blessed weekend !

I pleaged grad chapter Delta Sigma Theta in 2006 and denounced January 2019 for the very reason God told me I had to choose. As I grew in my relationship with Christ he started revealing the strongholds in my life that I had to let go of. It wasn't an easy decision but I did make a conscious decision to remove my membership as a witness and testament to whom I really served the lord God all mightly. I contacted my sands and a few sorors and explained what I learned as I grew in my relationship with Christ. I informed them that I would no longer be their sands or soror but now their sister in Christ. Some recieved my stance and some rejected me. However I hold no judgement. It took me nearly 12 years to discover the deep dark truth. I was warn by my spritual father but I had so many greek chrisitan connections that I listened to them instead of God's word that clearly states why we should not be apart of secret societies. It's total deception and the way statan keeps us in bondage to the world. For all of those who have denounced and have made a decision to boldly proclaim your love for the lord by praying for those who have yet to come out I'd be more than happy to start a Christian group called Christ Cusaders where we come together and pray against this sprit of deception. We are not to judge but to walk in love. Trust me the power of prayer will remove the blinders off our bother and sisters eyes. Whose down?????? Love yall peace and Blessings Evangelist Terrece
When it comes to fraternities and sororities, you aren’t just pledging your allegiance to an organization. You’re pledging your allegiance to the Devil. God tells us to not to love the world. Not to be worldly...This world has been given over to the hands of the wicked. When we try to fit in and be friends with the world, we make ourselves enemies of God. We’re called to be set apart. James 4:4 📖 "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."
Thank you. This is my principle here. Not being like the world, because it's influenced by Satan anyways. I've been quickened and devoted to God by His grace and I truly value God's principle of separation to Him. I've made it my commitment to reject worldliness and live without compromise for Christ always. That's not easy but He is helping me to do it, and it's saving me from a lot of bondage and traps. Praise God.
@The BEAT by Allen Parr...Brother Allen...why do you say you're not against these organizations? All you've said is on point to never join if we're a follower of God!! You should denounce your pledge!
Ive read Pdalms 1:1 a million times and never seen it as explained in this video. The progression of walking standing and sitting in our thougjt processs. Excellent word bro!!!
I have been WAITING for this discussion. I denounced my org a few years ago because my spirit was so convicted. My whole process was HORRIBLE and there were so many times at which God told me to turn around but I pressed through. Ultimately, the origins of Greek orgs, the pledging process, the secret ceremonies, chants, the temptations, and the infamous poem invictus all point to joining being something not of God! Did you denounce ? I’m curious to know. Stay blessed
@@thebeatagp Brother Allen, since you announced publically, you may need to close that circle to denounce and officially remove your name from the "roll".

You did not denounce joining them yet clearly they are open to acknowledging other gods. Your clever and may have learned to deceive too well, very smooth words. I cannot judge but this reminds me to not put trust in mortal men.
Same convictions... I innocently pledged delta and was taken aback by the ritualistic aspects of the process... later got deeper into my relationship with God and His Word and denounced in prayer. Unfortunately the orgs are clear idols that desire worship. When God asked me to choose I chose Him despite losing out on popularity etc etc... are we living for the approval of God or man?
Thank you for posting this. I joined a group that was not in D9 and later dissipated, but I still see some of the members from time to time. I never thought I had to denounce since the group no longer exist. But I will do as you and denounce in prayer as well. I don't want anything like this to keep me away from the savior. Be Blessed!

This is something that I have been thinking about. I joined the zeta phi beta in 2012 at the age of 20 . I am 28 now with more knowledge and a better relationship with GOD. It never caused me to go against my values when I joined. Currently , I am not active in the organization but I haven't denounced them yet.
This was interesting, I'm considering pledging AKA but I'm very firm in my beliefs. I just have conflict with the rituals, mantras and poems. Definitely making me want to research further into this.
Glad you are going to do your research. Some of these 'pledeges' come straight from the bible and God's name is replaced with the org's name. Which is in direct opposition to God's will. Blessings of clarity to you.
Thank you for sharing this!!!!!!!!! That poem was one of the many red flags that kept me from joining that specific frat! I asked somebody from the organization to explain this quote and their reasoning for reciting this but their explanation was not enough to get me to join. Honestly, reciting this reeks of idolatry. In general, Panhellenic and National Panhellenic organizations are idolatrous. Just look at the joining process ( by “paper” or by the traditional hazing way). Essentially, one would have to deny him or herself and allow the organization to take priority over everything else. That’s Idolatry! Plus, When a person really studies and get down to the real roots behind the beliefs, chants, practices and ceremonies of these fraternities and sororities , one would discover these organizations do not mix with Christ.

Thank you for giving me a biblical perspective about these things, because I've tried asking frat brothers and sorors and they told me it was a secret. I'm a senior in high school, and at first, I wanted to join a sorority my sophomore year of college. Now, I can get that idea out of my head.

Demonic doctrines hide behind the thin veneer of good works and "godly" rituals. End of the day, Allen Parr is still an Alpha that is married to a Delta. Walking away from a marriage does not grant you a divorce. Inactivity does not nullify your vow. As a teacher, your followers deserve full disclosure.

Dear Sir, Shalom ☮ I come to you in agape ✝️ Who is your God? You are either for the kingdom of God or of the world. You cannot have one foot in the world and one foot in the Kingdom. You must choose whom you will serve this day . Respectfully, this is misleading. Come into the truth and knowledge our father God, in Yeshua name.🙏 No!!! Not Founded on Christian principles. Joining greek fraternity and sorority will not, does not align with the word of God. Alpha Phi Alpha represents or Osirus/Ra-god. It is a form of idolatry. You cannot serve two masters Matthew 6 :24 Thou shall have have no other god before me. You take an oath to a greek god. God is a jealous God. This is definitely demonic. Denounce in the name of Jesus. Exodus 20: 1-6 God bless 🙏
You say all this but then say you’re not against fraternities and sororities. Interesting. I know you haven’t renounced your fraternity YET but you probably should knowing all that you know. And then you can speak truthfully that you’re against them… especially having to take the oaths.
Thank you Allen for sharing this. I am so glad you are addressing this. Everything you said is on-point. Glory be to God that he is speaking through you so well. I personally witnessed this as well. At my liberal university, my freshman year I was peer pressured by my new friends and tempted for all the reasons you mentioned (identity, pride, status symbol, etc and signed up. Upon going through recruitment, I felt very convicted but still went through with it. Upon getting selected to join a sorority, it was through the initiation where I realized how satanic it was. I quit and actually later that year, joined a Christian org on campus, gained various internship experiences, joined other organizations and held leadership positions, completed over 500 hours of community service, and etc. I thank God and give him Glory for all he has done. To any college student reading this, I pray that God gives you the wisdom, discernment, and trust in Him because IMO you can do it all through Him because He will give you the strength!
Thank you so much I had to watch this due to questions about Fraternities and Sororities since recently our Pastor who is Alpha celebrated founders day at the church and wore his Alpha shirt at the pulpit while he preached. When I was young, I had pledged Alpha and the line dropped. I was a new Christian and I just prayed God is this what you want me to do? He told me no. Your video is inspirational and is good to educate others. Yes, I remember Invictus and think back wow when I was a new Christian (got Saved right after Highschool) I did not think of the poem we recited each time. Thank you again, for always bringing the truth.
I came across Endia Bass’ video on RU-vid which helped me with the understanding of the roots of Freemasonry for Greek organizations. I was never apart of either. However, my grandfather was a Freemason. I represented and denounced his oaths and involvement on behalf of myself and my family. I understand everyone doesn’t think it’s that “deep”. However, it was for me especially seeing some patterns in my family.
Thank you for your transparency and candidly addressing this. I pledged in '96 and the same questions and convictions stirred up in me. I have not been active in almost 20 years. This video is going to help someone make an informed biblical decision.
This is such a gray area issue because even if a person goes in to a frat or sorority, they may have the idea that they are pledging for the networking or for the sense of brotherhood or sisterhood but once you take the "oath" to adhere to the rules and regulations of the organization, you almost become bound by it. It starts to become part of the oath to participate in the activities even if you know it's not inline with Christian values. I wouldn't say these organizations are necessarily demonic but they can be misguided. The best thing is to go to God first and see how you feel after talking with Him. He will take you down the right path.
I enjoyed your video, but can you explain in 9:35 of the video why you are “not at all” against fraternities and sororities? And have you denounced Alpha Phi Alpha? You mentioned “my” fraternity brothers as if you’re still part of the fraternity. You were saying the right things, but I was wanting clarity on whether you denounced this demonic system.
Exactly, he didnt say he denounce the organization and also he said he is not against the organization. Also he didnt say no you shouldn't join. He also said my fraternity brothers. He is trying to say no without saying no, while ultimately saying yes you can at the same time. As Christians we shouldn't be trying to play the middle ground. This brother needs to totally denounce the organization.
I caught that too. In Matthew, it clearly says that no one can't serve two masters. Love one and despise the other. I was agreeing with him until that was said. As TRUE Christians, we're exposing the devil's work through the Word of God. Not teaching HIS Word and "protecting" evil spirits too. God is NOT the author of confusion. Praying for Brother Allen to truly denounce this org.
I have struggled with this for YEARS! As I was undergoing so much in my life in 2012-2014, I felt like being associated with something ‘greater’ like the OES and greek life AKA would get me further than just being a ‘Christian’. This was going to be my way in for promotion, networking and doing well in life. The problem is, none of what I said just then or how I thought back then did ANYTHING to advance the Kingdom of the God. It was 100% self-serving and I admit that. Now I see I didn’t need that organization to advance in the workplace or life. Jesus said He knows the plans for me. I didn’t need this organization to serve in the community or to network. I could do that on my own or within the church or another organization/platform. Al that to say, guard your heart and listen to what is being placed on it! If these organizations exalt and love the one, true God JESUS, check the fruit! It doesn’t, from the words spoken, rituals participated in and they way those outside the organization are treated, how is that of Jesus? We have Pastors, civic and world leaders involved in these organizations and they promote it because they don’t know the real root of what it is or choose not to acknowledge it for what it really is. At the lowest level, yes it may look like and really be about oneness and brother/sisterhood. As you progress though and advance in position, at the top it is Satanic/occult. Make no mistake about it. The pledges are doctrine and propaganda used to change your Godly-paradigm. He read part of it on this video. How could any Christian hearing that, reading that or state that not feel convicted? The people overlooking feeling is because they want to. They need to really ask themselves they questions he put in this video because I guarantee it’s not for any reason that God can’t do outside of that organization. It is, in its most basic answer self-serving. It’s the esteem and praise that comes with being associated with that organization. All the regalia worn, the colors and fanfare. I just praise Jesus for the conviction, protection, and safety given. Seek Him out if you’re in that and pray for forgiveness. Remove yourself from it all together. Y’all stay safe and blessed because there’s a war out here for our souls!
Amen. Imagine being married to a Frat member and you after 25 years of marriage you are blessed to learn the root of these secret societies . I pray for the scales to fall off my husband's eyes. There only one Alpha and Omega.
Allen, I appreciate this video, but I think it should be made very clear that the origin of these fraternities and sororities is not of God. Make that clear. You said you are not against them, but you should be. I recently had to wrestle with the revelation that the Holy Spirit gave me about the sorority I pledged. It's like the scales fell off my eyes and I realized that I had to walk away....immediately. I felt the nudge a few years ago, but I "compromised" and only participated in community service activities. That was not enough....I have to totally detach because you can't repent for making a vow and still operate within it.
@Monica Cross Monica, I am a Freemason and have been for over 20 years. I;m also a Roman Catholic and have been for well over 55 years! Trust me, there is nothing in Freemasonry that is incompatible with ANY faith. Don't believe the conspiracy theories.
And as usual Allen, you nailed it! I have tried to have this conversation with individuals who were either considering pledging or pledging at a graduate-level or even POST graduate. The older ones think they are taking the opportunity they didn't take when they were in college. What you said about the motivation for joining, answers a lot. And asking ourselves is joining going to make me a better witness? Those questions alone should help any born again Christian decide. I have had debates with close friends about this and have decided to back off because they are dead set on participating even in the alumni chapters, believing the organizations were founded on Christian principles and that should be enough to honor God. None of my 4 adult children pledged when they were in college, however my youngest considered it and had started the process. But I always told my children to have a solid reason for why they commit to do something. She really did not have a good reason to join and her motivation was solely because she was told she should. Thank you Allen, you ALWAY speak truth to power and provide sound biblical wisdom and scripture references to confirm God's truth.
I pledged 10 years ago to a Latina based sorority and was saved 5 years ago. I realized this in 2016 stumbling across an ex AKA RU-vid video. Really opened my eyes! We had similar oaths that sounded evil too, letters are of course deemed sacred, and club socials were a way to make money so we’re required to go. I lived that lifestyle and thought I was ok with God! Considered self termination when I realized all this once I got saved but I already graduated and don’t actively participate or rep paraphernalia. I did make some good friendships who will stay with me regardless if I leave. I love that you give ways for viewers to realize it themselves through scripture rather than saying yes or no. You are so gifted in your teaching and instruction dear brother! Your videos are so humbling and restrictive of showing biases so the focus is scripture. I pray I do the same with the little I try to share on IG & RU-vid. God bless you and your ministry.
My daughter is currently being groomed by Chi Upsilon Sigma and, while I haven't told her anything, I don't feel comfortable about it. Unfortunately she doesn't really live by Christian standards at the moment (despite being raised in them) and I fear that my trying to dissuade her might have an opposite effect (or no effect at all, at best). When young, I did many things I ended up having to denounce later on, but we're living in very different times now! Things have officially flown off the handle and God knows if she'll ever have a chance to get rid of that yoke once she realizes what she got herself into... 🤷♀
WARNINGS ⚠️ JESUS IS COMING BACK SOON BELIEVE AND REPENT JESUS IS THE TRUTH THE LIFE THE WAY GOD LOVES YOU TRUST IN HIM BEFORE ITS TOO LATE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL BLESSED DAY SPREAD THE GOSPEL AS MUCH AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN 🙏😇💙💚💛
Should anyone join an "organization" that engages in division, slander, insecurity, jealousy, severe abandonment issues, selfishness, hoarding and pillaging resources, sadism, rejection, public humiliation, no shame in gaining unfair advantages at the expense of others, lack of respect for ancestral lineage, gaslighting, etc.???
Allen, these are excellent points, I will share this video with a relative of mine who is deeply involved in his fraternity. I know he will not appreciate it at first, but it is definitely food for thought!
I just came across this video in 2022. Thought I would check it out because I have grandchildren who will be entering colleges one day soon. I must say I was a little disappointed in your answers because you did not take a firm stand to let youth know that we as Christians can NOT but any Gods before the one and only true God, also we can NOT serve two masters! You also left out one of the greatest temptation to our flesh is the list of the eye and the pride of life. Many times you are tempted by what you see “it looks good” and I can get “status” or belong to “respected” group. This is Peer pressure for many, gangs use the same tactics. Also there was no mention of the historical roots of these Secret organizations. Brother Allan you at one point in this video said “my brothers” referring to your fraternity. Did you not tear down bales alter? Light has NO fellowship with darkness!
Whenever we come into agreement with these type of things we open ourselves up to curses. Their are demons attached to these fraternity's. I am currently learning about deliverance & in my journey I found out alot about how demons cause strong holds on us and the multiple ways they come into our life. If anyone has came in to agreement (contract/covenant) you must repent, renounce it, bind and rebuke it and cancel it out in the name of Jesus. I'm telling you curses come along with those pledges we as Christians should only be pledging to God. Remember He is a jealous God and although He is merciful He will not tolerate this. God bless :)
I have a problem with you clearly stating the sinful aspects of the Greek organizations, yet still leaving the door open for others to join "if thier motive are right". Seems you are still part of your fraternity since you still call them your brothers and you haven't renounced. You mention all the sex, drugs, etc that you witnessed, but still didn't give a definite NO to pledging. Very dangerous teaching. Very dangerous.
Just reading the title of this video without viewing it brought a big NO to my mind. There is no way for a person to keep a solid Christian testimony when joining one. And the temptation to sin will cause most if not all to do just that. Christian, stay away!
I felt the same way about frats. As a Christian, I don't see the need to do pledge. Also, in the invictus poem, its strange how its written. "Thank whatever gods may be"?? That reminded me of what I've heard about "masons". Correct me if I'm wrong but supposedly before you can "join", the person has to acknowledge a "high powered being". As a Christian, I only acknowledge our God, the Father of our Lord & savior Jesus Christ. Far as a couple of scripts, Matthew 15:9 and Colossians 2:8 can probably help.
If you pledge a fraternity, you will align yourself to a demonic entity. Period point blank. A lot of the rituals are symbolic blood sacrifices. These open the door for these entities to be active in your life. But the deception is real but people will fight you over they idols (them letters).
It seems although you’re still connected to this organization I strongly believe it’s either white or black you’re in or you’re out...God has been dealing with me concerning organizations for a long time
I knew and know today many respectable people who have joined themselves with sororities or fraternities. It was the THING to do when I was at University. But you had to have excellent grades and a respected lifestyle to join. But we all know that is a lie from the pit. My mom wanted to join AKA but she got married in college and had me. The Lord kept me from joining AKA 20+ years ago. There was this older lady who always had AKA stuff on her. I saw it but I was already done with college. She convinced me to get my transcripts together and send them to the AKA chapter that she belonged to. Because my husband was in the military, we moved and then I was completely preoccupied with raising my first child. Now that the Lord has saved me, I can see the idolatry of joining these groups. People join these groups without researching what they are joining themselves to. So much idolatry, oaths and lawlessness goes on behind the scenes it boggles the mind. Just like any cult, it’s easy to get in, very difficult to get out. Thanks for this vid. Reminds me how the Lord has kept my family from joining this cult over the generations.
