There are three things I absolutely love about this act: The first is the performer himself. What a showman! And what a smile! The second is the music. Evocative without being overbearing. The third is how his necktie matches his socks. It's too bad Penn & Teller weren't fooled, but this was still charming.
I was immediately reminded of Teller's version of this trick. I like how you never break the thread and it is still attached to the spool. Very cool effect.
That's different. Taking a trick that you know P&T know, and then adding something to it that you think might fool them. It's like, "I dare you spot the difference." They spotted it this time, but that was a bold move and I applaud you for doing it. Great act!
7:02 even though he unfortunately didn't fool Penn and teller , the smile on his face and his thank you was such like he has won the whole world with his greatest achievement. I wish everyone had this positive attitude like this magician... And yeah I absolutely liked the trick very much. Would love to see more ( mr. Bean , Charlie Chaplin mixed with perfect music beats )from your channel...
I know that teller done the same trick on this show, and i just hope he will attach fish on his hook, so it will be so much upgraded than teller version.
How did he get the hooks on the string? I understand swallowing string and then you reach in and pull out another one with either razors, needles or in this case hooks attached and pull out that string leaving the items and string in your mouth, but in this case he swallowed one string and then pulled out the same string with hooks attached.....howd he do that?
I neither know nor care how the trick was done. I'm here so people like Ruben can lie to me, cheat and deceive me, and he's done a great job of doing exactly that. With thanks, Brian in Oz.
See this is what Fool Us is about. Who cares if he didnt fool them. It was an amazing routine to watch and made me happy. Plus he impressed P&T a lot and that means something!
Very fun to watch! There was magic involved, even if no one else will call it magic. The time and effort and thought is what makes it magic. So, yes, cars are magic, kids are magic, movies are magic, and the greatest magic of all is love. Obviously, I love magic! Even when I know how it's done because I have watched a dozen videos explaining it, it is still magical and wonderful and I never get tired of it. I am in awe that with all the "how to" videos out there, these people keep doing it, they are passionate about it, even when caught. The more I learn about how things are done, the more I believe in magic!
Beautiful, captivating, classic magic with a twist - or a new hook! Plus a positive, gracious, modest attitude. As a fellow performer, I salute you. Sir. You can be very proud of your performance. Bravo!
Enhorabuena por la performance Rubén! Hay que tener valentía para subirse al escenario y e intentar sorprender a Penn & Teller variando sus propios trucos. Y aparte la ejecución muy divertida y elegante.
Nice!!! ok, its the needle trick.....but using hooks andddddd the thread remaining attached to the spool was genius. Fair play man......that's some nice work.
He should have got a trophy because this version was better and Penn did not know how he did it with fish hooks and also the thread was much thicker. This guys act was great. I would pay to see him.
@@SvenStucki1998 I don't know this trick either. By what they are saying I am guessing this is a classic with a twist to accommodate for the fish hooks/thread

It really is a good trick but I am perplexed why someone would try this in front of Teller who has done of version of this several times. You're not going home with a trophy, man. Still, good trick.
@@voltaquake The hooks were threaded already, and he had them in his hand and as he made it look as though he was putting the string in his mouth, he put the whole piece of string and tied hooks into his mouth.
I don’t think so. He usually perform his presentation of Houdini needle trick. I did a version of that trick. Using fish hooks and some other techniques. Apparently pretty similar but huge difference between both.
Sure tells you how they got in his mouth, like every other version of the trick. But where does the extra length of thread go? That's the real mystery here.
