i think he memorized the orther of the cards so he knows the cards without seen them just knowing where he stops, i think thats why he just tell teller to pic the next and they are both red 8s, i think thats the method, isnt it?
@axel.lessio
@axel.lessio 3 года назад
That's what I thought. Based on his other performance, that could definitely be the method. Which makes it even more impressive because to memorise a sequence of 52 and then be able to know at what point of the deck you stop, that's insane.
@afp2131
@afp2131 3 года назад
Axel Lessio agree. Probably the are in a easy order like all the same numbers together (both were 8) but even like that requires practice and talent to know the exact card you’re just stoping the fall in any specific place. It’s very impressive. Tricks like this that are talent and practice sometimes are better than sneaky tricks
@afp2131
@afp2131 3 года назад
Axel Lessio makes me remember Kostya Kimlat’s trick (who actually didn’t fool them) when he’s capable of take the card from a fall knowing where the card is. Without any sneaky. Just practice and like Penn said “he’s just that good” and that’s more impressive than other effects you can create with misdirection or sneaky moves and stuff that maybe looks better but isn’t that hard like this kind of things

POSSIBLE TRICK EXPLANATION/SPOILER READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. I think he just had some sort of break in the deck when he droped the cards for them to select. The fact that he never shuffled the deck before having Penn and Teller choose the card is what gives it away. He flat out always knew wich card they were going to pick because the deck is set in a specific way and as he drops the cards and Penn says stop he can have some wiggle room to decive us because he drops the down quite fast, because he has a break in the deck he will always stop there at the 8 of diamonds and because the deck is rigged and unshuffled the 8 of hearts will always be next to it. What also suggests it is the fact that Tellers card was the one right next to it (wich he would also know because the deck is not shuffled and its rigged). One thing is for sure, there was certainly no free choice there. Basicaly the wole trick is a simple force, dont know how Penn and Teller didnt pick up on it in an instant. The rest of the trick is just a setup for the payoff but the whole trick is done in the first 10 seconds.

Spoiler alert I figured out how he did the trick and can replicate it after a few mins. While they are looking at their selections he looks at the card that is placed above them. After the cuts and deck split he sees the card he saw during his peek while talking to Alison (6 of spades). Notice how when the cards are fanned out it is right next to the 8 of diamonds shows that it is the right card. If the 8 of diamonds was for example 5 cards deep in the pile the matching other card which in this case was the 8 of hearts would be 5 deep in the other pile. The cards are random and works with any two cards. They just happened to both be red 8s overall great trick I loved it.

Memorization is a big part of Siegfried's trick. He truly has an incredible mind. Since the cards were never shuffled, he set up the deck in a way that only HE knows. This way he knows which card follows which. First Penn selected a card and then he asked Teller to take the next card. But when putting the cards back he again asked Penn to place his card back first and Teller to put his on top. This reversed the order of the original set up. When the cards are separated into 2 piles, Siegfried asked whose card is in this pile. Penn said his. Siegfried knowing how he originally stacked the deck would see which card did not belong. He did the same for Tellers card. A simple way to understand this is, take a deck of cards at home and set them up red, black, red, black. Have someone pick one card and another spectator pick the next. Then tell the first person to put their card back and then the second person. When you separate the deck into 2 piles of 26 cards one pile will be all red except for one black card and the other pile will contain all black cards with only one red card. Of course Siegfrieds trick is much more difficult and you have a lot of memorization to do. Very well thought out and very well done. BRAVISSIMO!
@tomasseeber
@tomasseeber Год назад
The trick is easier. 2:08 While staring at Alison, he showed the deck's top half bottom card to the camera, looking at it on the screen he mentioned when asking Pen & Teller not to show it to, behind Alison.

@@kunruh651 what?
@TexasEx7
@TexasEx7 2 года назад
@@austinlogan4247 Penn & Teller are assuming that the trick is based on a force - this is when the choice of the card appears random but it was actually influenced by the performer. For instance, when you say "stop" he actually stops on the card he wants you to choose but does it so quickly that it appears to be the card you said stop at. He could do this during the "waterfall" of the cards when Penn says Stop, ensuring that Penn took a specific card he knew would be taken. The "force" was a red herring here as Penn truly does have free choice of the card. However, the deck is memorized by the performer and once he knows which card Penn's was next to he then knows Penn's card (and therefore, Teller's card since it was right next to Penn's). It's actually really smart that he takes a peek while Penn and Teller are choosing their cards, using Allison's eye contact as a fake proof that he can't see their card - he doesn't need to see their card he just needs to see where in the deck they chose from! If Penn & Teller had asked if he could do the trick again except this time have them shuffle instead of cut the deck, or ask him to do the trick with a deck that they shuffled beforehand it would be a 100% fool me. Instead, I believe he just has excellent memorization skills and great stage presence.

Wonderful performance!!! Top notch! SPOILER ALERT: I recognize how this is done because in 7th grade I memorized the sequence of a shuffled deck of cards. Cutting the cards doesn't change the order. The card order of all 52 cards was pre-memorized. Cutting never changes this order. He pre-memorizes the sequences of the two stacks the deck is split into. These sequences always remain the same. Any card out of order is instantly recognized when he fans out the cards in either stack. He doesn't have to see the second stack because he has pre-memorized the 52 card sequence.

He had the cards in an easy to remember order (ex: the CHaSeD arrangement, though in this case it would have to be a different arrangement as the end of the trick would cause CHaSeD to result in black and red piles) then when Penn and teller pick cards, Penn selects first (so his card is on top of tellers), teller second, and then penn’s card is placed back first making his now below tellers so they are reversed in the order. Cutting the deck does not shuffle a cyclical order, the cards are always in the same order (think if you laid them out in a circle). Then when he divides them, two cards will be in the opposite piles due to being switched; those are Penn and tellers cards

The deck is not shuffled, he have a periodic order inside it (that order is not ruined by cuts or separation card by card), but the order was irreversibly compromised when the first card (pen) was putted below the second card (teller one). Brilliant trick. He clearly wanted Penn and Teller to think it was a forced choice. But it wasn't. I am 100% certain the deck was prearranged in one of those ways where no matter how many times you cut, the only cards out of order would be the one that they chose. He added some diversionary moves at the end but I'm sure he knew what the cards were when he split the pile. Great trick! A waterfall force would be too basic a move. The secret is the separating the cards into 2 piles. Instead of making it harder to guess, it made it easier. He knew which card didn't belong in the pile, because they got put into the main pile in reverse order. Penn volunteered the information of which pile contain his card and which contained Teller's. Once he knew that, Siegfried knew the cards. I'm surprised Penn & Teller didn't catch that. Maybe it's their policy that if they don't get it at the first guess, they concede the trophy.

Ok since you are here I want you to see that he never shuffled the deck and he just spread it to make them see it looked shuffle As you may know there are sequences of cards made that if you know one card you know the one coming after and so on He then tried to pick at the card that came before Penn’s card while he was talking to Allyson but didn’t manage to No problems ‘cause he made penn’s card go in the deck before teller’s one (so the 2 card switched place) Now he only needed to look at the deck so he cut (not doing anything to the deck) And then he divided in 2, in that way he could see exactly which card was not supposed to be there (counting cards as I said before) He then needed to know if it was Penn’s or Teller’s in order to know if the other card was before or after that one so he could calculate that one One of this kind of stacks is called Mnemonica and you can look it up on youtube

The cards were not shuffled before the waterfall at all and when he spreads them out on the table you can clearly see the two red 8s next to each other roughly in the middle of the deck before the waterfall. Only thing I can think of is he knew the entire order and, if you look at the cards laid out at 1:16 there are a lot of patterns to the pairings of cards next to each other. It would not matter where it was stopped if he knew the entire pattern and was able to identify exactly where the stop was. I do not think it mattered where the stop was, he knew the card order and knew what 2 cards were picked no matter where the stop was and had some way of identifying the exact stop point. The trick was in being able to identify the stop point and knowing the order of the cards. No card force needed. The entire performance was spot on and the presentation was great.

Requires the deck to start in a chosen order (although the deck could be cut as often as wished before starting) so that, when separated into two piles, the magician knows what cards should be in each pile. If interested, try it with a simple set-up e.g. 1, 2, 3 and 4 diamonds and 1, 2, 3, 4 spades in that order. Try cutting several times and then deal. Always evens and odds. Now, reset the ‘deck’ and choose any two adjacent cards BUT put them back into the deck in REVERSE order - surprised that P and T missed that, but maybe they were focused on a force from the start. Now cut a few times and deal. Simples!

He used a sequenced deck, most likely his own pattern. The deck was never shuffled only cut and separated, this doesn't change the sequence, only the starting point is changed. Even when he deals the cards into two piles, the cards are now placed in a new but recognizable sequence, all he has to do is look for the cards that are out of sequence. This method is as old as time and the only reason Penn and Teller gave him the Fool was that his presentation was flawless and charismatic. The show is about pushing new talent to the front of the line. This style of trick is awesome and the ways to present it are limitless. It doesn't even matter if the person watching knows how you did it, it is still very impressive if you present it in a fun way. I'll gladly watch Siegfried again, very fun Magician.
