Veronica Swift, Vocal James Sarno, Trumpet Benny Benack III, Trumpet Miki Yamanaka, Piano Adam Moezinia, Guitar Jonathan Michel, Bass Jason Brown, Drums
Veronica is inclusive and gracious in the spotlight, digging and enthusiastically embracing the performance of each and every player while at the same time engaging the audience. Her contagious joy is the mark of a great singer who delivers.
Great playing all round! And of course, as is tradition, everyone laughing and talking over the bass solo unfortunately - Great vibes in general though, looks like a great night for everyone involved
I've been digging Veronica since the first time I heard her, maybe five years ago. She is the real deal! BUT -- where was the sound mixer on this gig? Did she do something to piss him/her off? BTW -- the reason we hear everyone talking over the bass solo is that the sound mixer doesn't have enough mics!
Her scat singing is better than Ella's - fantastic singer. Love that guitar player - he's really good and I've heard them all - been playing jazz piano since 1955..!
@@larrbrown7277maybe not better than Ellas sure, but it sounded pretty close in skill. Just because they’re jazz legends doesn’t mean the new generations can’t keep up!
@@duncancofell8960I think it's about improvising scat in the moment. Not just the mechanics of scat. Ella was in a different universe improvising-wise
