Good message at the end. It’s so true the saws and wood is why I started watchin ya but the positive message you spread is what has kept me around for years. You a great role model pal
Tulip Poplar is our Indiana State Tree. It’s a shame to cut such a beauty, the wood really isn’t in demand. Could be 200+ years old. Big enough it could be milled as Yellow poplar which lasts forever!!!
I was at the Bunyan show didn't get a chance to meet you, but it was great seeing you in person at 500 i is one impressive saw. I was the idiot to ask you where your drums were at lol And to that fella that asked how you could be so nice well if you listen to your message work hard help your neighbor treat others as you would be treated and you can be nice should be happy too
Absolutely loved the show, was GREAT to meet you Buckin, thank you for taking some time with me and my family, for being so gracious and generous with your time for all of us that came to see you. Big thank you to Ripsaw for giving us a place to gather, and for being such an amazing standout of a company with an amazing product. Saving for a ripsaw now. It was great to see so many friends of the channel, tinman, nick, etc. Much love from Georgia! On our way home
I am so frustrated I don't know what event this was. Wow. I am so sad I missed this. Someone please inform me what is going on and how to make sure I don't miss this again.
So happy to have met you on Saturday, Buckin! I can not express the incredible positive impact you have had on my life over the years. You truly are a huge reason I even made it through some of these times. Thanks for all you do!
This video deserves more attention. Tulip Poplar is about the softest wood you can cut over here, but that was a big pig of a tree, and that saw ate through it like butter. Second watch for me. The more I do this, the more I notice little things the pros do. Like every movement Buckin makes is methodical and calculated. No wasted energy or fuel consumption. I’m still fighting the saw a bit, but learning quick. Thanks
Hi Buckin, just wanted to say it was great to meet you at the Paul Bunyan Show this past weekend. Great to see the saws I've watched on your channel live over the weekend. Hope the trip home for you went well. Happy Sawing! - Sandy , from Ontario Canada
Well my understanding is Tulip tree ~= Poplar =~ Cottonwood and there is NOTHING nice about cutting that stinking tree family. Wood stinks, sprays water goo everywhere so your clothes smell etc. Sure it cuts fast because the "wood" is more air and water than wood.
@BuckinBillyRaySmith it was great to meet up with my lifelong friend Joe Rainis and then to meet finally meet you Billy Ray. Joe speaks very well of you. Now I now why. Be safe out there brother.
Yes Sir! Processing and debris management is the hard work, but dang what a fun business to be in! It was great to meet you in person Buckin and see the impact you have on so many people. Safe travels and best wishes for many more years of making people's lives better with your message and tutelage!
I run a 500i 25 in bar all day. That thing you got is wicked northwest Ohio these are what we cut everyday. That saw you got cuts and eats like now.. WOW😮
Like I said buckin I live in Pennsylvania. I cut trees for 22 years. That tree had you cut in this video was a Poplar, it's not a hard wood at all. You can cut through it like butter. Just so you know what kind of tree you are cutting there? I'm sure you probably know, but sometimes I know you're not used to the trees here. Thank you, God bless for all you do.
@@br-dj2ti I had to look at Poplar. I didn't realize how soft of a wood it was. Just got fine milling 9/4 slabs of black oak and white oak this afternoon.
@@pahunter9415 I bet them slabs are beautiful. Yeah, poplar is extremely soft wood. I cut through like butter all the time. I love cutting it up l o l.
you know buckin 😂 as much joking around about how your a husky guy you seem to have a stihl in your hands a lot now days 😉 much love ❤️ a good saw is a good saw don't matter the brand❤
It's a real shame you had to cut down a Tulip tree. You've probably seen the flowers on them. And they are a wonder to see them in bloom. Pukka Job as usual though.
That is one slick looking saw. Ripsaw makes a good saw great. I'm sure you've answered this question before but I was curious what your idea of the best specs for an all-around, multi-purpose saw that is closest to the perfect powersaw to just grab and go for most jobs. For example, a storm just rolled through and your neighborhood is blocked off from anyone leaving or getting in and you need a saw that you can grab without thinking, throw it in the back of the truck with your other gear and go to work clearing for extended periods of time. Then say the next week your neighbor asks for some help processing the trees that fell down and so on. Then you decide that you want to make some extra money on the side by doing some clearing work. You don't have to come up with specific models but just specs like bar length, power numbers, and other features that make a good saw to just grab and go at a moment's notice. Figured this would be a cool idea for a video you could do or answer on this comment. :) Reason I am asking is I am trying to upgrade from a Poulan Wild Thing that I have put a ton of work into making a more reliable powersaw but I'm actually looking to start a small tree and brush clearing business that I can start with a powersaw and a truck and then work from there and need something a little more robust. Thanks for all the content, Billy. Stay safe!
We have Tulip OMF there all over around our area. I planted a couple in the Hills of Iosco this spring ! There are a bunch of them in Silver Lake State Park and all up an down the Huron. Sorry to hear about the tick. We still need to meet up for that coffee some time sir !
I watched you at Bunyan but didn’t get a chance to meet you. So I wanted to thank you I started watching you around 8 years ago. You drove me to be the best version of me. I now own a sawmill, kiln, and secondary processing equipment for lumber. I fall I’ll my own logs for the mill so from standing timber to finished product it never leaves my control. I also started building furniture. Im hoping to make a RU-vid channel one day. But.l I would have never had the drive and courage to do it without your videos. So thank you
I hope to some day Shake your hand Buckin! Great to see you in all the footage from the various different channel and your sincere greetings to the people. Thank you for what you do My boys and I will come see ya somewhere someday.
I cant tell you how amazing it was to meet ya Buckin, thanks for letting me bother you while you tried to work, and most importantly, thank you for letting me cash in on that hug. Sure did mean a lot to me, made my whole trip up worth it. What an event and what a hell of a guy. Was great to meet your family too, I suppose it was me and your daughter that had a good chuckle over trying to get you to let me swing that wood bullet around.
No matter how much I sharpen my chain whether it’s on a grinder or a hand file I feel like my chain is NEVER as sharp as what I see you cutting with !!!!!!! How the ****
Ported saws cut faster personally have never used a modified saw would like to some day I started to use full chisel chain more I find it definitely cuts faster than semi chisel chain buckin runs full chisel all the time and as he says it’s all in the filing and a raker gauge is important Peace&love Happy cuttin ✌️❤️🌲🪵🪓🐝
Better be careful out in the woods cuttin’ in warm weather, found an engorged Deer Tick on me after my latest fun. Now I’m on Doxycycline as a precaution against Lyme Disease.
You don't need to have a bullseye rash to be infected with Lyme...i had the bullseye two years ago, been bitten about 5 or 6 times over the past 8 years. I know many friends that have been diagnosed with Lyme and never found a tick or bullseye rash. I did the antibiotics when i got the bullseye rash but have never had the blood work done. It is hard to fight Lyme even with the antibiotics but they do help stave off the deep debilitating effects. Lyme disease is no joke but can be defeated by massive amounts of immune boosting supplements and treatments. There's a guy named Dr Cas Ingram that uses oregano oil with good results. If your immune system goes down it can be very bad. Using peppermint oil out in the woods has been good for me this year. I spread it on my arms and clothes about 5 times a day. ✅
Buckin', THANK YOU so much for the meet and greet at Bunyan. I can just simply echo everyone's comment. You were most gracious, generous with your time and patient. Was great as well to meet Wendy and Rita. And what a surprise to meet the Tinman. Hope to get the opportunity to do this again at either Bunyan or maybe a Buckinstock. Much LOVE and RERSPECT.
Awesome job taking that huge tulip down!! You make it look so effortless, and enjoying at the same time!! Great content, haha I'm sure the Ole throat is a little sore from Bunyon, haha heal up brother, and great message at the end....great values to live by😊
It's crazy, buckin when you go to rip saw. I'm an hour away from you. I live in Brackenridge, Pennsylvania so close to them. I wish I could meet you one time when you come there. I would drive in a heartbeat. God bless you hopefully I can meet you. One day it would be a dream come true
Bummer I can't make it out there for the Paul Bunyan show, I have plans locally every yr at the same time that take precedence. I like the walking stick at the end, that 500 was probably getting a bit heavy to carry lol. Be blessed friends.
Buckin, I was just on bjarne's channel. I'm doing a lot of falling in a tight spot in town this week. Some of the largest uncut trees in the town. Power lines, hard leans, buildings etc, and I'm just reminding myself many things because I'm coming back from a severe car accident 6 months ago. Obviously I've been a religious student of yours for many years, and like you've done for many others, your advice, thoughts, stories and your investment into this channel has been a rock of education in my life. While looking at the video in the link below on bjarne's channel I thought, boy, I'd love to hear a buckin talk over on this one. Analysis, stories, explanation, etc. Like you always do. Bjarne is an excellent logger with a great channel of course, and no disrespect to him, your just a professional at the jabber as well as the saw. 😊 🙏 You might have to talk to him and you may not be interested in doing it. But it's just a thought. Peace and much love from east coast USA
Cool to see you get into a huge hardwood. Not really sprawling like a lot of the hardwoods we have down here in the states but still a cool change of pace.
