Just to clarify without spoilers, Peter is Malcolms son who died in Africa on one of Malcolms expedition. So Vanessa was channeling Peter's last moments and death at Malcolm, he died from dysentery. And yes that last part of her possession she was telling Malcolm about when she caught him having sex with "someone" not with Mina. This is a really spectacular second ep!! Dorian and Vanessas encounters are 🔥 No one can resist Dorian lol Penny Dreadful is so well written and shot!! John Logan wrote all 27 eps and put together an amazing cast!! All the performances are excellent!! So much to look forward to!! Don't worry the answers to your questions are coming! Can't wait for more!! From my perspective it seemed as though Proteus wasn't so much ripped in half by an intruder, but rather, ripped apart by someone/something that was hidden within him. This seems to be a running theme today, the evils that we keep hidden inside of us. Who could the newcomer be? Well, what do we know of Doctor Frankenstein?
