Compliments are only useful if you respect the source, Sheldon is a wonderfully thought-out character and very entertaining but there's little to respect about him!

This is actually slightly more respectful than Sheldon's demeanor toward his actual teachers growing up

True, that's the comedic arc of the show because if he received on the level he gave instead of receiving the tolerance of his friend group, he would have never achieved his dream of the Nobel prize. This allowed the show to come to a conclusion with him not only understanding but also appreciating and publicly expressing his feelings for his wife and friends.

The continuity is downright terrible there is nothing worse than when a sequel or prequel completely ignores certain plot points only creating plot holes in the process
