@@teijaflink2226 No, a 17 year old cat is so old he will struggle to defend his territory against younger challengers, and that could turn out very bad for him. Having him move home to one of the people having been most in contact with him in number 10 can be a relief for him as he is ageing, having a smaller, but more secure territory to himself, surrounded by one he knows well and his/her eventual family. Should Larry and Jojo be confronted with each other on Larry's territory, that could end up with one of them having to flee, or even be killed. With the arrival of Jojo, it is best for all parties that Larry has been moved on long before that. Ideally the entire building should be cleaned, and it should have rained properly, between Larry having left and Jojo arriving, so all scents and traces of Larry was gone before Jojo moved in.
Larry is better known than most PM's including the newest one. He should stay at No.10 for the rest of his days and will probably outlast the newest one!
he was there longer than these 5 faild prime ministers over 14 years its sad to get rid of him but if he got on with our cats we would look after him ,, hes a beautiful tabby number 10 only place he knows but gather they dont want to fork out the cost of putting him down when the time comes...
I was thinking the same thing. It's abominable to put him in a shelter or something at his age. As a cat lover, being owned by many of them during my entire life, I'm all in to signing a petition for him to stay! No. 10 IS his home!
@@journeysintothelight2133 They don't get retired to a shelter, they are retired to live with a staff member at their own home. And best done very publicly, last time one from no. 10 was simply quietly retired there were lots of claims the cat had been poisoned. But both Gladstone and Palmerstone were retired don't forget.
Am an American, if Larry is unceremoniously retired, this is NOT the way to the hearts of the people. If the new PM wants people to see him as one of them, he needs to find a solution for Larry that will not evict him from his home of 17 years to another cat who will not be there for life.
Larry is the same status as His Majesty. He is the sovereign of the Animal Kingdom. Can only go from Number 10 by drawing his last breath there. Soldiers die with their boots on.
Normally they retire to the home of a staff member, as happened to both Palmerstone and Gladstone and - in the time of the Bliars - the previous cat at no. 10
Are old geriatric politicians forced to retire.. Sir Keir Stammer will invite back S ir Tony Blare bsck as chief adviser to his mixed nuts Party At least Larry does good work
I think Larry should be allowed to stay always. He was there first. It's HIS home. The rest of the riff raff comes and goes, but Larry is forever. I'm team Larry all the way.
Larry isn’t just the Downing St cat, he’s an institution! He’s more popular than whoever the PM happens to be. Please allow Larry to carry on as he has these many years!
Please Neil, I'm from Canada and have followed and enjoyed Larry for years. Please start a petition to keep poor Larry in his accustomed surroundings. Cats, especially elderly cats hate changes in environment. I think it would truly be cruel to do this to him. Let him live out the rest of his years in his kown environment with people he knows. After all, he is 17. Would the incoming prime minister like to be treated like this when he gets to old age? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If is for the "people", well Larry is "cat people" who is of working class!!!
Oh no? Larry needs to stay. Please Neil start a petition for Larry to stay, I live in America but I would gladly sign a petition to keep Larry where he's at.
Larry the Downing Street cat has a more favorable rating than the PMs he served. Firing Larry will back fire. When Larry is ready to leave he will make his wishes known.
Say it isn't so . . . Kick the PM out and keep Larry! Doesn't Markle say, just call me Meghan? Where will Larry go? Maybe he can become the Buckingham Palace cat? I'm Team Larry, and he should stay at 10 Downing!
Agree but maybe Rishi can take him if he and his wife truly love him. Everyone seems to indicate Rishi is a better human being than a politician. A huge tribute to him but not for the UK at this critical time.
@@mll44 Larry seems to be a London staple or fixture. Ergo, he needs to stay in a prominent home in London. Perhaps BP or Charles's home or KP where lots of Royal live.
Larry with the fox is far braver than this load of "politicians". Starmer needs to concentrate on the country, not the cat who has served Downing St for 17 years (mouser). Leave Larry alone, you......
Cats don't tend to get attached to places as much as they do to people. I'm sure there is somebody working at #10 who is Larry's main "person." Living with that individual in his golden years would likely make Larry as happy as staying where he is.
This is Larry’s home that’s not fair. He won’t know what to do if he’s exiled. Perhaps the Prime Minister should put HIS cat with some friends or relatives. They could keep their cat confined to their quarters,
Leave Larry alone, new Prime Minister!!! this is Larry’s home he knows no other. It would be devastating to him and his health. Stand your ground Larry, put your paw down to this idea!
Larry should absolutely be allowed to stay where he is and continue his position. #Team Larry! If I could vote in the UK, I'd vote for Larry.. He's the real owner of 10 Downing,
I hope the UK public stand up for Larry who after 17 years of loyal service deserves to retire in his own home of 17 years - 10 Downing Street. The fact that Kier Starmer thinks he has the right to replace much loved loyalty with a younger model who is only loyal to the Starmer's and unknown to the UK public should be a red flag for most Brits. Animal's are not disposable and the Starmer's cat is the interloper so why is Larry to be punished by losing his home?
The most important being to walk out of no 10, not a president or grandee. It's Britain's favourite feline Sir Larry. Do not evict this National Treasure, he's the very best of you politicians. PMs come and go, but Larry is a Legend.❤❤❤
They cannot retire Larry without taking a vote from the country, but if they keep him and bring the other cat along, then Larry will definitely see that cat off.
Larry should stay in Downing Street that's his home how dare they think on putting another cat in his place is this Labour's policy on everything just throw them out , Shame on you
Jojo is a temporary tenant. Larry is a permanent resident. If Jojo moves in, he should be confined to the living quarters and let Larry get on with affairs of state.
Let Larry have a happy retirement in the home he's had for 17 years. He deserves a comfortable old age in the home he knows. Leave Larry alone or face revolution across the UK
If he is moved away from his home he will be extremely depressed. Nice start PM ! You show utter disrespect and selfishness. Don't even think we will allow this to happen and lies are found our very quickly. NO,No,No: OUR Larry stays in his house, if Starmer doesn't like it wet lettuce ! 😂
You cannot possibly remove Larry from 10 Downing St. The new PMs Cat will just have to learn to get along because he won’t be living there forever the way that Larry does. So if we need to start a petition then that’s exactly what we will do, long, live Larry! Long live the king! ❤ love from America🖐️
Noooooooo!!! Larry is as important to Britian as Big Ben, The Royal Guards and Neil Sean. How dare anyone consider retiring him. He's in for the long haul. It would break his heart to deprive him of however many years he has left. Cats are sensitive. He won't understand why he has been removed from the only job he's ever had, and done loyally all these years. I can't help but wonder about someone who would even think of booting him out. Please leave him where he is.
I think Larry should stay, he's earned that right :-) If the other cat already has a "home" it won't be that he's has to move. Larry is seventeen years old, allow him to stay until he passes.
Larry has earned his right to stay exactly where he been it his home first !!!! No he should not be moved. As American 🇺🇸 don’t have a say but British people Should stand up for Larry show support
I’m not a cat person but how dare anyone move Larry from the only home that he has known. He’s walked Downing Street for the past 17 years. I think we should all send a letter to No 10 telling them to carry on with there work and leave Our Larry to do his.
Of course Larry must stay, Jojo can be his assistant &learn the ropes, but Jojo will have to be introduced gently then Larry will accept Jojo, like all animals the oldest is the boss
He'd treat OAP's the same, just shows you what kind of PM were going to have to put up with, if he kicks Larry out! Personally I'd have Larry as PM & kick Starmer out!
