He wasn't in charge of them, and if I recall correctly, he didn't have access to them. He took the information and leaked it, without access, making it worse for him in the long run.

They appear to be not mentioning that they are missing someone else. Do you not just love a half baked story that is full of missing and vital information? The person who gave him the documents, they always need a handoff and the guardsmen certainly seems to have filled that role here. Always someone else in the middle.

That's nonsense and you clearly never served. Information access varies by classification of information, the persons security clearance and "need to know" to support the mission. For example if he was preparing Powerpoint presentations for meetings he would have had appropriate security clearance for the information used and a "need to know" to compose and edit the slideshow. In other news a secretary doesn't make corporate decisions but does have access to what their bosses need them to use. "National Guardsman" is not a security clearance, Guardsman HAVE security clearances (or not). There are Generals with varities of Top Secret clearances in the Guard and Reserve. They are not LESSER forces, they are forces with different organizational models under different command structures.

@Comm0ut If you genuinely believe that a national guardsman would have access to highly classified information to make PowerPoint presentations then you're clearly put of touch. The information released was of strict confidence. Didn't know the US military were out here getting 21 year old National Guardsmen to make PowerPoint presentations on highly classified national security subjects. Granted he is from the intelligence wing so would have access yo some levels of information, but everyone with a brain knows that this type of information doesn't just land in someone's lap. Especially someone who has been a serviceman for 3 years or less.

The American circus is running out of plausible ideas for their next acts. Their credibility has now become so thin, it makes me wonder what their finale will be when the dollar crashes.
