You can still hook it up to automation, with a cable under that back cover there's an RS 485 connector, you just don't have to have a special wire anymore
So basically the bigger the pump the more efficient it will be because you wont have to run it at full speed to get the same amount of water turnover, thus using less energy as well. Hopefully this makes sense.
Thanks for the information! Im installing a new basic pool. 14k gallon, salt, gas heated, cart filter and two lights, no water feature. I want automation so can i save the $ on intellicenter and just get this pump with i/o board to control everything or do i still need intellicenter?
Can you explain more on the automation differences between the models? Does the basic (0111075) have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, or is 076 (IO board) needed? Also wondering if 075 can connect to Jandy Aqualink RS. Does the touchscreen (078) serve any purpose if you have Aqualink or Intellicenter?
Thank you for the video. Hi ePool, I have a question. Can I connect Pentair ic40 salt cell with relay 01 of the IO board? and same connection can also supply necessary power supply to run salt cell, right?
You can hook up the salt cell to the first relay for communication and programming purposes but the pump will not supply power to the unit. You will still need the power center hooked up to the cell.
@@ePoolSupply According to the video...it does not indicate it can be connected. The IO Board is installed where? At the pump? Can you be more specific? As I do not see where the communication port is located on the pump that needs to be connected to the Intellitouch / Easytouch control panel. Please clarify. I bring this up because there are a lot of us folks out there with older pump systems from Pentair, that require either replacement of even repair. With these new generation of pumps coming out, it simply is not clear enough. Thanks.
@@stedgar216 I contacted Pentair Tech support this week. This was one of the models he recommended for Gallons per minute (GPM). I have a Easy Touch and I also have pool solar heating. I wanted to know if the Solar could trigger a spacific GPM. He said that this model could be connected to the Easy touch using regular 22 gauage wire (rather then the proprietary cable required by other models) and that I could set it up to change the flow when the solar heater came on. He also said that with the older 011056 which the plumbing matches the single speeds pentair, the 011076 will require some modifing of the plumbing.
@@dskrivan1 that you so much for your comment. Ordered the pump and it is on its way. The amount of water loss from the pump leak every day is painful. I can’t wait until this pump arrives and this will end the 3+ months of hunting for pumps.
