And it’s an original. Written primarily by Kevin and Avi. Avi uses it frequently when he’s doing workshops with choirs-several of these participant videos are on RU-vid.
My granddaughter walked the isle to this song. Beautiful. The other songs on this album didn't have videos, but are mind blowing. Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, and Over the Rainbow are stellar.
Elvis closed every one of his concerts with this song, so it's possible you may have caught one of his concert specials on TV at some point and heard it then. This was also one of his bigger hits, so you may have heard it on oldies radio sometime too. The song was originally from one of Elvis' most successful movies, Blue Hawaii. You might have heard it there. It was never a Christmas song.
Another song that Kevin harmonises in is Praying - no Music video, but a hauntingly beautiful cover. Another reactor recently had a live stream hosting Ben Braum - it was a great, informative and entertaining watch - I would recommend taking a look at it! The reactor was Jacob Restituto - I hope I am not out of line recommending this.
Thank you so much for reacting to this!!!! It's one of my favorite covers by PTX. I've listened to it a million times, and it still makes me tear up, I don't know why.
I'm surprised that you don't know this song. I think it was a pretty big hit for Elvis and it's been covered a lot. But no worries. Once you've heard the PTX cover, you don't need any other version. (You might want to listen to Elvis, just because it's a classic.)
Elvis did this in 6/8, but as I’ve said before, PTX doing it in 4 brought such poignancy to the piece! Those bell tones began with Avi singing a 2nd ledger-line bass clef C#. I can’t help but mention that when Mitch does that glorious ascending line at the climax of the song, Kirstie appears with that gorgeous, evanescent smile of hers and lights up the scene like the sun coming out! Oh, and the final chord is an A9 and Avi outdoes himself with a 3rd ledger-line A pedal point! The resulting chord creates a flood of overtones; PTX sounds like an organ here!
Oh this is one of my absolute favorites! They look and sound like angels in this video and it’s magnificent. This song has been covered by many, many artists and it’s been featured in a number of movies.
I was a huge Beatles fan and in those days if you loved the Beatles you didn't like Elvis lol....I'm watching this again because I love Avi....This is so heavenly....beautiful harmonies from ALL 5. And they showed Avi more than once lol....His face just warms my heart. Thanks Mike for another great reaction. Loved your expressions during this too. ps...hahaha yes you're kind of weird like that...It is a love song...lol pps..Love your Avi comments too.
@@larrywt656 Yes you're right ...I think it was because my older sister gave me grief for liking the beatles....lol she was obsessed with Elvis...so in our group of friends etc it was a case of Elvis v Beatles lol.
So here you have a choir of about 70 performing this arrangement - the 2017 class of Avi & Ben's A Cappella Academy doing what is listed as being a Ben Bram & Kevin Olusola collaboration. They sang this about 3 months after PTX released theirs. (And yes, that's your boy, Sven in the front row, lol) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VCKDS5iiHVQ.html
And while we're at it, here's a short clip of their rehearsal for this. Notice the gentleman at the front. You might recognize him. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z00vu_Q3nmY.html
This song is based on the melody of an old French love song "Plaisir d`Amour". I still recommend songs from the latest PTX album. They are exceptionally remarkable not only for their wonderful lyrics, but also for their innovative performance. Don't wait for mv because PTX doesn't make videos for all songs. Also recommend great "Good Morning Quarantine - Parody Song" by Kirstin based off of “Good Morning Baltimore” musical.
@@larrywt656 A huge Elvis fan I know had never heard of Mickey Newbury's "American Trilogy" and had never seen Elvis perform it until I showed it to her. I guess that's why I used "little known." But, yes, for anyone who's seen the performance, it's unforgettable.
Really think you should give Elvis videos a try, he still has a lot of fans out there. Many are new fans that are learning to appreciate the King. Try anything from the 68 come back special. One of my favorites is Trying to get to you.
Absolutely beautiful 🤗 great reaction as always you should check out Tim foust singing this as a solo 😊 I agree 5 part harmonies are perfect 😊 I actually think home free covered it to and possibly voiceplay not 100% sure on voiceplay tho 😊
