Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love
I think if ANYTHING could bring everyone together, it would be us all listening to PTX! LOL, but you hit the nail on the head, they totally could've stood there and sang their song but they used their platform to bring a deeper meaning to the song, that's why they are so special 🙌💜
You seemed to get it but to point it out, the signs represent both something personal about themselves and something they share with the person next to them. Mitch and Scott are LGBTQ+, Scott and Avi are both Men, Avi is Jewish, Avi and Kevin are American, Kevin's black, Kevin and Kirstin are Christian and Kirstin is a Latina woman. Ultimately they're all human and when they come together in song...well you know.
Exactly, it's not just about accepting people's differences & the way in which we are different, its about our similarities too (just as they/ptx all have something in common with the next person, we all do too).
Love your reaction. "There's no room for hate." More kindness, acceptance and love. And more incredible performances from PTX. They take a John Lennon classic and put their unique spin on it and bring me to tears.
I admit, I backtracked two or three times just to watch the expression on your face when they hit that masterful five-part wall of sound. The message is perfect, and augmented by their incredible talent.
Hello. I´m new to your channel, but if you keep on running the PTX-train, I´m in. I´ve heard this song at least 100 times and it still has me in tears. The meaning and the wall of sound gets me every time.
When John Lennon wrote the song he was definitely thinking of all the issues the world was having at that time. Also if Yoko Ono thought that Pentatonix would ruin the song she wouldn't of let them do it. John Lennon would be very proud how Pentatonix did this song.
You are absolutely correct. Who would DARE take on a John Lennon song, especially "Imagine" but, I must say that when I heard PTX sing it, with the visuals (which John wanted) they cannot be surpassed. I am an old Elvis fan (60 years).......OOOOOPS I gave my age away......I just wanted to say that I love hearing new singing voices but, I am also very picky, once an Elvis Fan you are an Elvis fan forever. But as I mentioned earlier. I love a capella groups and Pentatonix and Home Free (Austin Brown especially)....are my new favorites. Since 1960 (Elvis was the only one and I was 10 years old)...There you go my friend.....keep up the good work.!!!!!!!!!!
I Love that Avi got to lead this song. He has such an amazing voice apart from his awesome bass. And also Kevin hitting those high notes. One of my fav performances from PTX. Loved your response. Waiving from Australia..
Great reaction...great song. I'm sure you know by now that everything they do is awesome and usually better than the original. I think you've done a reaction to The Prayer already but it would be an excellent idea to react to the live version of it from the IHeart Radio show/concert. I think you will be amazed at how good they sound live. Thank you for sharing this with us viewers. Sending you love from Texas!!
Thank you for your reaction. You said it perfectly - Always a pleasure to listen to Pentatonix. You also said this is brilliant. Artistically, Pentatonix took this song and paid respect and homage to the original from the start, keeping similar elements and then made it their own and taking it to the end with the beautiful layering of voices and rising to their signature wall of sound. On the message, they not only showed their differences, but importantly what they have in common - the message on the card when it was passed from one person to the other is what they had in common with that person - and then in the end reaffirming that we are all human. Pentatonix using their platform to share a message of humanity, of inclusivity, of tolerance and of love. The original was released in 1971 and the here in 2021, fifty years later PTX has brought it to a new generation.
booboolu for sure they make us all realize we are all living in this very small world, have to live in peace, love, and love to thy neighbor, many reactors were doing this during the riots of the summer where this song gave so much meaning into this great song. happy holidays booboolu
I’ve seen this video 20 times easy, and I ALWAYS choke up once Kirstie hits that high note and they all hit you with the wall of awesome. EVERY DANG TIME. ❤️❤️
Yes, exactly. D caught on very quickly, but I've seen plenty of reactors who finally got hit with the message as Kirstie flips over the sign for the last time and her voice rings out like a trumpet.
To me it's ear candy...pure joy to listen to...they can calm a raging bull...love,love,love this group...God's gift to listen to....another great reaction....can't get enough...
This one always gets us in the feels. Thanks for sharing this potent reminder in our season of "brotherly" love. Lennon was a visionary and inspired artist, and PTX knew exactly how to bring his music and lyrics into our hearts. Great reaction, as always!
IMO, if John Lennon were still alive *this* would be his favorite rendition of his classic song, because it's the one that most completely expresses his message, in a way that he couldn't do by himself (because it requires five people - no disrespect to John).
Imagine by Pentatonix may be one of the most important videos of this century. This group took a classic song of tolerance and peace and modernized it as only they can. They are a perfect example of what respect and love can be like. Five people with differences in race, religion, gender, and sexuality can do beautiful things when they work together. I cried when I heard this the first time. I still usually tear up when they go into Wall of Sound mode. Unfortunately showing this to Pentaholics is kind of like preaching to the choir with most of us.
I loved your reaction…”There’s no room for hate.” Their interpretation of this song was spot on and they used present day issues to unite us as one, human. You did a fantastic job with your comments, in fact yours is one of the best reactions I’ve heard. 💕
Not long after this video was released the unite the right rally chanted "Jews will not replace us". Can you imagine how they all felt watching that, especially Avi? It broke my heart and I am a heterosexual white woman. I can not imagine being in their shoes. When they released this it was a hope that it would reach more people and change hearts after a year of divide in the US, but even PTX couldn't unite us. 💔😢
@@ReactionsbyD I know. My family all say I'm an empath. I've always just been able to put myself into someone else's shoes even though that is definitely not how we were raised. I'm the only non addict in a huge family full of them. Addiction is a selfish disease so I never could have been one and if I can be sympathetic towards them I've never understood how anyone could hate another human.
I loved your reaction. When they sang " the wall of sound" they are famous for, you sat there with your mouth open just as I did. I've been a sub for awhile now and I feel with you flying the red, white and blue I should say thank you for your service. I come from a strong military family for MANY generations. I also married a navy veteran. I love our country including the flag. Happy holidays to you and your family.
For more Avi Kaplan gets to sing. Try his newest First Place I Go. Just on his channel under his name. Different sound when he doesn't have to fit in with the others. Beautiful voice. Original song as usual from Avi. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LRpGURbB3LE.html
What a wonderful reaction to this masterpiece! It still hits me hard after the countless times I've heard and watched it.. they show what's possible when it doesn't matter what you are, what you believe in, what colour your skin has etc.. it could be so easy!
John would be looking down smiling....they are beautiful...all 5 are the best...love them and this message. ..❤❤❤❤❤...tks D..another great reaction to PTX...
When I saw the American flag I was like....mehhhhh... but you are a real one. I love America.. I'm American and i see you see things the way most of us do.. we are ALL HUMAN ❤
God Bless you friend. I thank you for your awesome reaction. Lennon (a genius in my mind) was all about peace, love and harmony for all. All of the Beatles had the same conviction. Keep up your reactions, music in all forms unites. Thank you again ✌️❤️🙏🏳️🌈
This one is one of the rare videos where Kevin gets to sing as well as beat-box. In the opening he is part of the harmony. In the second verse, he is part of the background chord structure. He gets to sing in the "live as one" wall-of-sound and the "I'm a dreamer" verse.
I know I'm late in discovering you and your reactions, but, man, you are in the PTX rabbit hole and your reactions to them, have pulled me into your reaction channel. I love how early on your caught on to their message. I think John Lennon would be proud of their rendition to his inspiring song. It was just as important when he released it as it is now. Yes, I'm old enough to remember the Beatles when they first came to the US. before their break-up. I've seen other reactors who didn't catch the message until someone pointed it out to them. Love your reactions!
The look on your face when they did the wall of sound at the end of the song; that was so incredible!! You were truly transported to another dimension!! Loved the thoughts you shared at the end!! I would really like to hear what the remaining alive Beatles think of their version of the song!!
Great reaction! Now it's Christmas time! PTX is awesome for the holidays. They just did the Prayer live on iheart Xmas special and other songs too. You would love the Grinch offical video!
So appreciated your reaction to the infamous Pentatonix wall of sound. Nothing like it. So beautiful and to the heart of it. We are all human, therefore connected despite our differences. Just look at these stunning people, this diverse group. Individually they are unique and distinct. Together their voices are heavenly.
Ever notice that Kirstin is always in 4 or 5 inch heels Here those platforms r a good 5 inches Yes it does make it so that she is somewhere near the height of the guys and give better continuity to the group. What is she really 5'2" maybe 5'4" while the guys are all over 5'10"
Now this is one of those tunes I spoke of in my reply to ur last video It has more to say then any love song ever thought of having John was one of our Greatest song writers of all times
