Pentatonix - Imagine (Official Video) REACTION  

I am a Pentaholic. I appreciate Home Free but there is no group like Pentatonix. Imagine by Pentatonix may be one of the most important videos of this century. This group took a classic song of tolerance and peace and modernized it as only they can. They are a perfect example of what respect and love can be like. Five people with differences in race, religion, gender, and sexuality can do beautiful things when they work together. I cried when I saw and heard this the first time. I still usually tear up when they go into Wall of Sound mode. Unfortunately Pentaholics are the ones who need to see this the least.

As I've said before, this song gets to me every time I watch the video. As soon as Mitch turns over the first card, I lose it. The message is so beautiful and so needed in the world right now.

Saw you were heading down the Pentatonix "rabbit hole" so subscribed to enjoy the ride!! The further you dig, the more you want to hear. Listen to their versions of Bohemian Rhapsody, Sound of Silence, Mad Mad World, and Can You FeelThe Love Tonight. I saw a comment that if you react to the evolutions they don't get blocked because are multiple songs. So 90's Dance Medley, Evolutions of Michael Jackson, Rhianna, Beyonce, and Arianna Grande. They won a Grammy for Sugar Plum Fairy...a song with no words performed by a group with no instruments. Their originals Love Again, Happy Now, Be My Eyes and Run To You are also winners! PTX has NO bad songs!!

I believe John Lennon would be proud & so happy with this rendition of his song......I love how Pentatonix always respect the original artist, yet have the ability, to inject a little Pentatonix, without taking away any of the intended message in the song, & sometimes even introduce some new emotions !!! 💖💖💖 RIP John Lennon, we all miss you 💖💖💖 New subscriber looking forward to more Pentatonix!!! 😊

Pentatonix and Home Free know each other well. PTX won the televised singing competition called the Sing Off on season 3 and Home Free won season 4. Pentatonix came back to perform during the finale of season 4 and also helped mentor Home Free. Avi Kaplan (pronounced Ah-vee) is the gentleman with the beard, and he was the original basso profundo. He has been featured in a couple of the Home Free videos and he and Tim Foust both reside in Nashville, Avi now has a solo career and he is out of this world talented. Pentatonix has 3 Grammy awards in their earlier years with Avi. Daft Punk (medley) is #1, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy is #2 and a collaboration with Dolly Pardon of Jolene is #3. So you experienced in this performance what we call the infamous PTX wall of sound. Gives you the goose bumps and leaves you breathless for a minute. They are musical geniuses. Kevin (the beatboxer) often refers to himself as KO (Kevin Olusola) then Mitch slapped is for when Mitch hits his incredibly high notes and it takes your breath away. Then their wall of sound that made you tear up is one of their "things". They all have outside the group music that they've done. If you have time to check out their 1st episode on the Sing Off season 3 in 2011, there is a brief intro and history of the band. They call rhemselves a band, not a group. This is the best way to learn a little about them. They were very young, three 19 year olds, one 22 and one 23. Watching this will also show you how their voices have matured over the years.

You know what I've noticed about this video that NOBODY EVER talks about...?... flipping over the cards that spell human is an additional and/or ultimate visual display of individuality & unity coexisting because each of them flips their card over in a different manner/ direction than everyone else. So as to say: "YES we ALL DO have individual existences with different traits, opinions, cultures and personalities; but also a common thread that unites us! Yeah we ARE very different from one another but in the end, we're also all the same." And it's so poetically subtle that I don't think many people have noticed, it's BRILLIANT!!!

One of the best things about PTX is their diversity as shown on the cards yet they are still good friends. I subbed to your other channel but not watched TV in years. This should be interesting.

Eventually you'll get the names and learn about the members, but the fans who flock to these reactions are mostly very supportive. Don't fret.

PTX won the Sing Off the season before Home Free. I have seen both since the show! Fantastic talent!

I've been watching Pentatonix since they were on the TV show they won almost eleven years ago called The Sing Off (season 3, and I highly recommend watching their performances to see how much they grew just in the couple of months they were doing the show). But I've learned a lot from watching reactors and reading the comments from other Pentaholics. So I knew who they all were from the TV show.

When in doubt YES! it is Mitch) sings counter tenor. Yes you are saying it right, it's phonetic. Kevin is an amazing beat boxer as you saw in "Down" and he does sing in many songs, he also plays Cello and invented Cello-boxing, yes he plays Cello and beat boxes at the same time. You have to understand these guys have been big for 11+ years, they've won 3 Grammy's and they have over 200 videos on RU-vid, so there is a LOT of material, the couple you've seen he just didn't sing in. Names are pretty easy, Kirstie (sounds like thirsty) powerhouse belter, incredible range, Scott, tall blonde guy, specialty is riffs, runs and power pop voice, Mitch whose super power is having one of the purest Counter Tenor voices in the music industry, with the ability to belt in his high range, and Avi who's an incredible bass who can go sub-accoustic yet also has a range that sends him up to a gorgeous high Baritone and if you watch anything past 2017 you'll see Matt who replaced Avi as Bass. PTX does have original music as well as the "Upgrades" they do when they cover other artists music. A word of advice, there are always going to be negative people out there who create drama where its not needed, people saying "you saying Kevin's your dog, etc. is disrespectful" is just them looking for attention. Kevin is literally one of the nicest, christian, fan-friendly humans in the world and he wouldn't have a problem with you saying that. So maybe just ignore the negative stuff and don't give them your energy. Most true Pentaholics and Homefries are very nice people, very positive and very supportive of these groups. Many of us have followed them since they began and enjoy supporting good reactors that enjoy getting to know their music. PTX and Homefree are the top 2 A Capella groups, there are others out there, they tend to be much larger with many members. Its a pleasure watching you go down these rabbit holes and enjoying the music. Oh yeah, yes the other members of PTX do have solo projects, Scott Hoying has a RU-vid page with his stuff on it and Mitch did an amazing cover of Billie Eilish's "Your Power" and some other things, which you can also find on RU-vid.

Another , newer, a cappella group is Citizen Queen. Scott from Pentatonix and Ben Bram, their arranger, helped to put that all female group together. I would suggest No Tears Left To Cry as a good starting point. They are pretty amazing as well.

The easiest way is to put a filter over the video, make it transparent, or put your personal logo over the video, put the word 'copyright' a few times over the video, etc. I'm not a reacter, but I have seen what works for other reacters who don't have to pause the video several times.

The cards show how they are connected Mitch LGBTQ+ passed to Scott LGBTQ+ passed to Avi on Man and he passed to Kevin on American who passed it to Kirstie on Christian. All come from diverse backgrounds yet they share a common thing and are one big family and like the rest of us are HUMAN. Turn the opacity down really low at least where it is almost transparent. Then if that doesn't work out a filter like your logo or the word copyright over it. Then pause within the first 10 seconds and pause 3 to 4 more times. But for us and to keep the flow of the video please rewind 5 seconds after you pause.

Just say PTX and you'll be fine. It's their nickname. Everyone will know who you're talking about. SME is nasty about blocking PTX videos. So sorry. I know it's a pain. Let me introduce them to you. Left to Right. Mitch is the counter tenor, who has his own channel. Next is Scott, the blonde, who is a baritone, who has his own channel. Then Avi, the bass, who has his own channel. Then Kevin, you already know. Last but not least is Kirstie, that rhymes with thirsty. She is a mezzo soprano and has her own channel. They've been doing this for 10 + years. I think they are the best a cappella group around. (which means no instruments) Occasionally they use instruments, but if they do, they are in their videos. Kevin also plays cello, which I think you know. Scott plays piano. I just subbed. Keep the PTX reactions coming.
