Is Avi doing a form of overtone with the sucking in of air combined with a bass note in the background cause you can still hear the humming and the note when he does it.
Super late, but no -- it's not overtone. Try singing a note, but put way too much air into it. Push out your upper lip a little bit so you get almost a whistle. Now position your tongue so that you get that "buzzing" noise. That's what he's doing, but you have to play around with tongue position so that you can get it like Avi. If you watch the music video, you can see what his lip position is.
