While most of the Reactors out there feel the need to talk throughout the performance, You my friend say it all with your facial expressions and your eyes. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy the performance as well as Your Reaction. Much Respect. T Y
You're so right some of those reactors are so annoying especially when they keep pausing the music to explain we don't need a music lesson we just want to enjoy the music
Aww Rob! I just want to give you a big hug! I totally agree that this was really powerful! They all just slayed this song! The biggest surprise for me other than Scott's amazing lower range is Matt's range! Wow! It gave me chills!
Well Matt is the bass and Scott's a baritone, but they both have great ranges. Don't know if you heard the group when Avi Kaplan was in it but it was SUPER low like their Daft Punk song
@@fifimorrison1804 I’m a late response to this but Rob is very well aware of Avi in the group. He’s been part of the Ptx fandom for a long time and was around and reacting when Avi was still in the group.
when i first heard the audio on this i thought Avi was back.. Scott blew me away. Matt killed it, i had chills. Kirstin starting out kind of low then those high notes..WOW. Mitch though what can you say he is just simply perfect, Kevins level of talent is so incredible. I love how your emotions are so visible when they sing. 💕💕 Thumbs up to you Rob 👍🏼👍🏼
@KonaGaming no im just a new fan but thank you for being so nice to point out that i don't know everything about them yet. Makes a new PTX fan feel so welcome.
@@anessalyn1035 I listen to Pentatonix since they posted their first video on RU-vid and I think your comment was a really nice compliment for Scott! His deep singing voice is sooo much better now! Don't listen to this other person, they are just rude and you are very welcome as new pentaholic ❤️
@@williamroop451 I feel like avi has a better bass voice than Matt but Matt has a better range and he is also able to beat box so they have more possibilities when making a song. Maybe they collab with avi someday, it would be amazing to see what Kevin, avi und Matt could pull off together 😍
@@sarahs2650 Thank you for saying that. i've only been listening to them for a few months and I'd not heard Scott sing that low before. But then i'm still in videos, concerts, etc that included Avi. But I am so in awe of this group 💓 No ones bad comment would make me stop listening to them.Thank you again
As always great reaction! I was waiting for you to post. When they announced they were doing this song I was afraid I'd be bummed Avi wasn't in it just b/c I know it's more his aesthetic (musically) but hearing Matt's solo - OH-EM-GEE Pure Magic! You are right, I've never heard them more powerful. It had a feel of Hallelujah (Scott's opening & then his final verse belt). Just when you think you've heard it all they raise the bar again! 😊
Watching you reacting for me is like me looking in a mirror. This groundshaking joy and exitement. The same. Great music is a strong bond and equilizer. Greetings from Germany
The most phenomenal vocal performances & arrangement of their career in my mind!! Scotty damn near killed me with that opening verse! Those bass notes. Also Matt's stunning voice. I hope we can here him sing more. Kirstin's runs...DAMN!!! 😍😍😍😍😍 I 100% agree, I've never heard them sound so powerful
Right?! I mean, we've heard Scott covering bass before but that opening was incredible! His range is astounding! And when Matt drops to the low note at the end of his solo... incredible!
@@RobReactor Absolutely!! I have the same chills all up my spine every single time I listen to this song or watch the video...even without headphones!! Scotty is one crazy talented human being!! I'm so thrilled they found Matt. He's breathed a whole new life into the group. Avi was amazing but there's something truly special about Matt that I can't describe
Did you notice Mitch echoing Kirstin's run, note for note? his hand gestures gave him away. The whole arrangement blesses the original while adding the PTX feel. It's playing in my head when it's not on repeat on the screen.
What amazed me was how powerful and effective their brief periods of unison were. The harmonies were astounding--you expect that from Pentatonix at this point--but the way they'd pull it all back to the melody and then drop into complex harmony was shockingly good and expertly done.
Scott blew me away I was shocked when he started the song so low, Mitch sounds like a beautiful angel as always. Matt wow what a voice he has, Kirstin has really grown I am really loving her range lately, also Kevin wow he is so talented and is unique how he does it I don’t know, it seems that both superfruit and Pentatonix got you emotional they did that to me too, both songs are beautiful
Thank you for such a great reaction. When I first watched their video....Scott had me at Hello (darkness), I really enjoy when he sings in his lower register. Mitch was a beautiful Angel, light and delicate. Matt OMG. I love Matt, he's a great bassist, he sometimes is a bit muddled when singing unless he's in one of his sweet spots. He has amazing range. Here is defiantly Matt's sweet spot. Very rich and powerful so much emotion he brought me to tears. The key change was nice and smooth and moved into Kristen's sweet comfort spot and that girl sang for her life. Such a beautiful arrangement. Kevin...oh Kevin some else needs to beatbox occasionally so we get a chance to hear your gorgeous voice more often. Kevin so sooooo talented. Great vocals and kick ass rhythm. Such a powerful song. Well done!
This might sound strange, but the rhythm section, particularly when it switched up a bit during Matt's solo, reminded me of the way Paul Simon rearranged some of his songs after he toured the world to learn more about music in different cultures. It felt like the PTX version took the lyrics and melody of the original, added some of the things Paul Simon learned later, used the darker key and some of the nuances of the Disturbed version, and turned it into something that was all their own. I particularly loved Matt's solo and the key change in the middle, and this is one of their songs that I think will sound even better live.
I have never in my life clicked on a video so fast!!!!! I just watched your reaction to the sound of silence by disturbed, I appreciate that you see the beauty in all music. You’re one of my most favorite reactors Rob, never stop doing what you do.
Rob you have the greatest comment of all the reactors "they sang for their lives, each and every one of them". For it is true. when they just let go, they are at the top of their game. great job.
Another lovely reaction, my reaction was almost exactly the same except mine was more of an ugly cry lol, your emotions are always so beautiful to watch. Hugs hugs hugs!!!
This is my favorite song they've done since Imagine. Nothing they've done since then has touched me even as remotely as much as this one. I can't wait to see what else they've got for us! Classics v 2 would be good, but I'm really hoping for an original album this time. It's been WAY too long!
Rob, I watch these PTX/Superfruit videos on my own, and I'm fine. I watch your emotional reactions, and BLAM! Lips trembling as I struggle with the tears!! 😂😂😂 But I love your reactions too much so I will deal with tears!! 😋😋💜💜
ROB!!!! You always make me cry!!!! As if the song wasn't enough to make me cry anyway..... their version is epic, but, I wouldn't expect anything less from them...I love them and you so much!!!!
Wow! Beautiful! Chilling! Breathtaking! What other words can I use to describe this video? Another Grammy for Pentatonix? Oh I think so! Rob, your reaction to Scott’s bass at the beginning reflected mine own...just stunning...❤️🔥 I ❤️ this! In my opinion the best I have EVER heard!
This is an amazing video!!!! I love Scott’s voice!!!!! I mean wow!!!!!! Disturbed was soooo good!! PTX = wow!!!! I’m so glad I got the notification that you reacted to this one. Was looking forward to your reaction!!!! Thank you! Keep them coming!!!!!
Gotta say I love the production quality. Great framing, set, lighting, overlay, well done man. And my reaction was exactly the same, just silent tears.
Damn, your reaction was amazing. It was so beautiful and touching seeing you holding your tears. Here is a like, and here is a subscribe, even though I don't know if I'll watch other videos of yours, I'll be here, out of sheer respect. Congrats, man. It is rare to see such a true and earnest reaction these days (at least that is my experience) Cheers, Andrey
I'd love to see you react to Peter Hollens and Tim Foust doing The Sound of Silence. I think it's the most magical and remarkable version of it anywhere in the world. Very true to the original and yet amazing in its subtly different interpretations. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3HboNZ8HFF8.html
The people who share a tear listening to a song, now that's how you know the good people still exist in this world. These people have the artist vibration into their hearth.
New subscriber here. Loved your reaction. And I agree wholeheartedly that I have never heard them so powerful. Their voices get stronger and stronger ever time I hear them.
Rob you are the most kind soul, and I appreciate your willingness to express how these videos make you feel for us to see! An incredibly touching and moving performance by PTX 👏🏽❤️
See, Rob. I told you on The Promise that I was waiting for this one. Isn't it amazing? Love them all. Love your reactions. Do you think you'll get to go to the tour this time? I haven't had a chance to look at the schedule.
I had to watch several times before I could tear my eyes away from the angels on that screen. I had only seen it once, when the Patreon email came, so my vision was blurred by tears also. Rob, your reactions are the absolute best! You wear your heart on your sleeve and that is a very endearing quality, in my book. Thank you for being you!
Yours is the reaction video I have been waiting for and you didn’t disappoint. They are totally awesome and your reaction is spot on. I keep thinking that they can’t get any better, but they keep proving me wrong. Thanks for being you and doing such honest, heartfelt reactions Rob.
loved the reaction. they made me cry when I listend to the song the first time. And my reaction was the same when scott was singing so low in the beginning.
Toda vez que escuto Pentatonix também me emociono... choro... tomara um dia poder vê-los ao vivo o que me parece impossível mas sigo acreditando em Deus e que ainda pode ser possível... 🧐
I love your reaction Rob! Starting my day with one of your reactions puts me in the perfect frame of mind! I think I reacted to this one so strongly because they all were doing their honest performances to each of their out of this world incredible individual and collective talent. AND they did it without any greatly exaggerated facial expressions (which to me, had become very off-puttiing). Instead, the focus of this one is why we love them...their incredible voices and their, harmonies that make us feel emotion. It's like they stopped chasing another nomination by trying to be a "formula" and started being themselves again. Don't get me wrong, I have loved and supported them from waaaaay back as have the majority of their fans. This one is a keeper!
I just love your reactions, Rob. The way you react is exactly how I do. And i love it. This was so amazing. I love that it had over 2M views in less than 48 hours. Wonderful version of this song!!
Two weeks ago when I heard this song for the first time, I posted to my Facebook "It's been a while since a song has brought me to tears because it's just so damn beautiful." I see you had the same reaction.
This was done very well but it was almost a copy of Disturbed version. Love listening to it though. For me it was not nearly as powerful as Disturbed version.
You had a similar reaction as I did when I first watched this video... Overwhelmed with the emotion and exhilaration of their masterful performance. First time viewer here... I subscribed as well. 💜
I thought Disturbed shook the earth with their version.... then i found Pentatonic’s and OMGGG.... i totally teared up myself 🙌🙌🙌 edit... ok now i AM crying because you did! 😢
