Of all the "fans" of Scott and Mitch, it was you and your reaction to this I was waiting for. Because you are the "heart" of the fandom. Thank you for this and all your reactions to Superfruit and Pentatonix.
Hi there. I'm not normally someone who comments on videos. I just wanted to say thank you. You are actually probably my favorite reactor I've seen. You're not over the top and you seem like such a sincere person and like someone people would look up too. Thank you for creating. And thank you for showing me a beautiful song i haven't heard before. Please stay safe Nd thank you again.
We have the Mitch bounce.... A sign he likes this song I love the 80s vibe, I was shocked when I realized they were covering this song, I remember the original when it came out, I was 8 lol
Mitch bouncing and that smile, you know hes loving it. This is so very incredible. That look of awe on your face when it started. You crying made me cry. Bless your heart Rob..I give the video a thumbs up but I give you one to if this keyboard would let me. But I send you hug for such a great reaction as always. OH that look though that Mitch and Scott give each other just shows who they are to each other and it is SPECTACULAR~cant wait to see your reaction to PTX SOUND OF SILENCE
This one is bittersweet. Beautiful song, beautiful video, beautiful sentiment, and it was the end of SuperFruit. Just remember, SuperFruit may be gone, but Mitch and Scott are still there, for each other and for us. They're just moving on to other projects, like Scott's single, "Mars."
Aw Rob - your reactions always humble me. We have a saying at our house, "Honor your tears - they're just a sign that you're letting yourself feel the Universe, and your heart is too big for your body". Thank you, so so much, for sharing your huge heart with all of us out here on the internets.
I loved the original. Class of ‘89. I was so happy they did this one. My first several views I sobbed. That one look they give each other...tears. Adam’s choreography was stellar. His extensions with his arms was spectacular.
I just love your reactions to Superfruit and Pentatonix! This was a great arrangement of this song! Mitch and Scott sing so well with each other. Simply beautiful!
I don't generally do RU-vid comments, but I wanted to tell you how much I love and appreciate your reaction videos. This one's special to me, too, so thank you so much for responding to it.
Rob, you R one beautiful sole‼️ your heart is so full & your emotions are right there on the surface, you, like me can not hold them in. I’m 54 and in luv with Superfruit 💗 Never change my friend, Keep on keeping on. 🎶🎶💖 Karyn 😎
As soon as I heard the opening to the song I remembered it 'from back in the day' as well. There is something lovely to experiencing a favorite song twice at different seasons of life. ;-)
I managed to hold back tears the first time but I got so emotional watching it again with you! The song is gorgeous, the video is beautiful and wow I have missed them so much. Never stop being you, Rob :)
Wow!!! Just wow!!! Can Scott and Mitch stop being so awesome for 1 second please. They are killing me at the moment!!! Everything about this is world class. Simply outstanding and you are becoming one of my favourite reactors. So genuine ❤️
Your face was so beautiful! Your reaction is I'm 100% positive is what Mitch and Scott imagined ppl would react. The skating was so perfectly choreographed it's beyond beautiful.
I immediately recognized the lyrics too!! 80’s kid!! I’d love to hear what they could do with some Pet Shop Boys.. Always on my mind! It’s pretty bouncy!!
The whole time you were talking at the beginning of this video I was thinking "I'm so glad I'm not the only person here not to old to remember having to manually flip your own tapes over to hear the other side" lol. Now I don't feel so ancient, thanks for the memories Rob!! 💜
I'm the only one I know who gets excited by each new release. Its nice to know I can always come here and find someone who loves this as well. Music is so much more fun when its shared. Thanks so much for doing these reactions and letting us share the experience.
You gave me so much joy with your reaction just now. These three beauties were perfect, I agree. I remember both this song and Sound of Silence when they came out.
Watching for like the 20th time. I grew up as a teen in the 70's & I don't remember this but it is a most wonderful song..I see why you love it! And ice skating is my favorite thing to watch...go Adam!!
Simply delicious! A trifecta of perfection. Adam, Scott, Mitch and one of my favorite songs, I mean, what could possibly have made this better? NOTHING! I was moved the same as you, Rob. Thank you for always wearing your heart on your sleeve and sharing it with us.
Stunning...Breathtaking! Our beautiful boys knocked out of the park! Their voices and harmony...wow! I can’t count how many times I’ve watched it and still tear up. Adam’s skating just brings it to another level! Thank you for sharing.❤️
The 80's are my hayday, too. I remember this song well. This song was BRILLIANTLY done, in my opinion. It literally sounds and feels like a video from the 80's era! And Mitch, OMG, he exudes 80's in this like woah! *giggle* Love his mullet! He has the feeling of being one of the brat pack, doesn't he?
I for one appreciate you always wearing your emotions on your sleeve. Not too many You Tubers out there who are as authentic as you are, Rob. "Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway." - John Wayne
I absolutely LOVE this!!! It’s been on my playlist from the second it came out. Love the arrangement. The ice skating is perfect. Reminds me of back then! I love your heart.... your reactions are so heartfelt and wonderful. I look forward to them. It’s my first time writing because I just had to!!!
You are not alone! I remember when this song was released. I loved it then and love it even more today. I watch alot of reaction videos and by far you are my favorite. The songs chosen and the pure emotion and feeling with them is incredible. Keep it up and remember if your crying Im crying with you.
I LOVE this song, and I didn't realize that they were putting out a cover of it until I saw the actual video. LOOOOOVE!! They did such a beautiful cover!
When you said you thought you were the only person in the world who liked that song made me think of a song I remember from back in the day that no one else seems to remember. Black Coffee in Bed by Squeeze. Do you remember that one? I don't know that it was a huge favorite but I do at least remember it and remember it being a little bit of a bop. I'd LOVE to see them do a whole album of 80s covers. Ones you don't always hear about anymore though. Like In a Big Country, maybe some Simple Minds, The Human League, Crowded House, Madonna, Simply Red, Billy Joel, Ace of Base, Tears for Fears, etc. So many amazing possibilities!
I clued my sister in on Adam Rippon. She loves this cover and now admits to crushing on Adam. Then she told me about your reaction video. We just keep sharing the love. Thanks for this. I'm searching more Superfruit!
I knew you were holding back. I get the same way when something moves me emotionally. you are such a sweet person. I enjoyed this right with you as i'm an 80's kid.
Like you Rob, I also remember this song from back in the day. I love watching your reactions, because you are always so genuine and sincere. Thank you for being you, and not being afraid to show your emotions. Love you!!!
I only had a few cassette singles, but the one I played until I thought the tape was going to break was "More Than Words" by Extreme. I would LOVE to see SF cover it. It's just the two guys and a guitar. It came out the year I graduated high school and my car (a 77 or 78 Oldsmobile) had an cheap cassette radio (my dad put it in after I got the car, it didn't have a radio in it... my guess is that a previous owner had an expensive radio put in it the removed it when selling it). I played that "More Than Words" cassette so much that I can still - all these years later - sing every word of that song by heart.
I was randomly looking for reactions to this song and was super touched by your emotions. When I watched this video the first time, I bawled. My mom passed away in October unexpectedly and all I could think was how much she would have loved this. She was who made me a figure skating fan, and she loved PTX/Superfruit when they cover older songs.
June 2, 2021 The day after my mum’s birthday. She passed away in 2018, and I remember sharing some PTX vids with her back when and she loved them like I do... I just watched your reaction here, and it absolutely filled my heart with joy. Not only the song (a fave from my youth too!) but your pure heartfelt reaction was exactly what I needed! Thank you ❤️
Wasn't that beautiful? As soon as I saw it I thought of you, Rob! ETA: Two totally brilliant ideas: having Adam Rippon skate in this video (whose idea was it???), and Rob playing the video twice. Watching you cry through the first and sing along through the second filled me with joy. You know I love you, don't you, Rob?
I was waiting for yours and Phil’s reactions. I love this song and it speaks so much of Mitch and Scott’s friendship it’s so beautiful the way they took this song on it made me kind of emotional too. Adam has incredible talent I maybe British and team GB but I have so much respect for Adam and I find him funny in interviews, he’s such a character
I just found your channel and I have to tell you how special you are. I absolutely love how you feel the music and allow yourself to respond with so much emotion! I hope the artists are aware of your channel and can see how moved you are! I’m sure it would mean the world to them! 😊
You are just so sweet Rob!!!!! 💛🧡❤💜💙💚 You TOTALLY MELTED my heart!!!!! #superfruit @superfruit This is the BEST REACTION VIDEO EVER!!! My 80's songs would have to be..... Every Breath You Take by, The Police 1983, When Doves Cry, by Prince 1984 and Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) by, Eurythmics 1983.... xoxoxo
It is heart warming to see you got enveloped with all the beautiful memories watching and digesting this song and vid. In some of Superfruit video, Scott and Mitchel have evoked some retro visual style.
You are always reacting so pure and so , just loveable. I always want to hug you. Especially when you tear up. Keep up your good work. Much love from here.
Hi Rob. Can't wait to see you again. You are FABULOUS! I am in awe with this amazing cover and video from our boys. Destroyed is a good description. I too go back to ca-singles and even 45s. Sooooo many on my 80s wishlist for them but I'll go with Tears for Fears Head over Heels. 👠 Oh this is Wayne from the pool at Pentacon.
There was a band we used to go see when I was an undergrad that only did cheesy 80's covers. It was awesome. I'd love it they covered any of those songs. They were so much fun. I remember when you used to be able to get demo cassette singles from new bands (sometimes for free, since they were still trying to become popular, and they didn't have the internet to help them distribute their music), and they still sold 45's at department stores.... This song wasn't my style of music in the 80's, but I think I remember it, and their version is incredible.
I love that they picked figure skating to focus on, since that seemed to be a staple of 80s movies. also, Mitch's mullet is perfection here. also, the baggy jackets are giving me major Tiffany vibes, for some reason, lol
Hi Rob, Julie here. Yours was the reaction I was waiting for and you did not disappoint. I had the same initial reaction to watching their video for the first time. Oh how I wish I could just hug you (promise I'm not weird lol). Thank you for watching it twice.
@@RobReactor Okay good, hugs hugs hugs. My dream 80s song for them to cover would be U2's With or without you - OR - Duran Duran's Come Undone. Next reaction needs to be Pentatonix Sound of Silence.
Oh my. Thank you for doing a reaction to this. It’s so freakin beautiful. You are my favorite reactor. You do it so well. So many talk just to hear themselves talk. You listen so intently and then react. It’s a skill you know. The ability to be a good reactor. I’m glad you have that skill. Keep up the great work. You’re the best!
I know this is super late, but I had the 12" dance version by When in Rome!!! I was so excited when I saw that Superfruit had covered this! One of my favorite songs....I think it was the first one that I converted to CD when CDs came out!
I love that you love Adam the way that I do. I know that he gets overlooked by most people because he can’t do some of the intricate skills that some of the new skaters can, but he doesn’t need those skills because his artistry when he skates is amazing and so beautiful. I love it.he is definitely one of my favorite ice skaters because of the beauty of the way he skates. I can feel his emotions when he skates and I can follow his stories and I love it. And I love that Mitch and Scott included him in this video.
It blows all our minds, it's so beautiful and Adam is amazing. George Michael's Careless Whisper or Father Figure. Something by Michael Jackson or Prince.
I'm with you ...I have a list of 80's songs lol. I loved this song when it came out in 1988. Loved your reaction! Don't you want me - Human League Just Like Heaven - The Cure Modern Love - David Bowie Thats just a start LOL
It brings me back to my childhood with songs like Karma Chameleon, St Elmo's Fire and Take On Me, which I think they'd kill the last two. Such fond memories
You know Rob, you're a really nice guy, and I think that every time I watch a video of yours... And that matters because it's a joy to see someone that's genuine in their reactions to the world... Just wanted to tell you that you're awesome and I'm happy I found your channel.
Oh God! I dont know how you'll react to this one. But I am now even more excited to see your reaction to Sound of Silence. It's been almost 2 days that I listened to it and I am still shaking with the after shocks.
Sorry. I keep coming back. And from the 80s--I would crawl a mile on my hands and knees to get Superfruit to do anything by Air Supply. Mitch would be Russell Hitchcock, of course, and Scott would be Graham Russell, and I would die and go to heaven. Back to "The Promise," though--my two favorite moments are when Scott and Mitch stare into each other's eyes (4:15) and when Adam skates around and between them (5:39 & ff, and 6:19). Somebody please tell me that really happened, not just in the editing room.
Anything by Air Supply would be amazing! You picked out three of my favorite moments from the video! Another of my favorites, even though it may just be great editing, is when Adam starts to spin and the video cuts to Mitch spinning at around 4:43. It's so well done!
Hi Rob, I recently became obsessed with PTX after stumbling across their video of Amazing Grace. I have been devouring all I can find on them. I saw this Superfruit video but had never heard the song so I didn’t realize it was a cover. I liked it a lot, but never really paid close attention to the words or Adams interpretation until seeing your reaction. Now I see it in a whole new light. And I have fallen in love with a beautiful song I never would have appreciated. Thank you!
