@Brian Mino Actually when Stalin deported them, most Germans were sent to Kazakhstan and other countries in Central Asia not Siberia, they had inter marriage with Kazakhs, Russians, Koreans, Tatars and others , many of them don't look German at all, and they all speak Russian as the first language

Tons of ethnic germans in czech id say close to 20 to 30 percent just look at Czech hockey players of german last names ie: tomas Fleischmann, David Rittich, Robert reichel tomas hertl David kampf ondrej kase etc

People of 5th generation German descent in the Barossa Valley can still speak German elbeit with an Australian accent.

My grandparents from both moms and dads side moved back to Germany in 1992. They still spoke German. 200 odd years after my ancestors moved to Russia under the rule of Catherine the great.

Don't forget the many German ancestors who pioneered areas of queensland. My cousin won the Goethe prize for German from UQ. The Darling Downs has many German surnames.

I'm German(Prussian) living in Adelaide. There's even Australias oldest living German settlement in SA. Hahndorf in the Adelaide hills

I think in Finland we somehow idolize Germans. Not saying it's good or bad, but Finns have always good attitude towards Germans. Persönlich bin überzeugt dass die Deutschen viel gute seiten haben.

Of course as you were their allies during WWII. And a lot of Finns were serving as murderers in the Waffen SS.

Well, of course there have been much influences to the German gene pool from outside of Germany in the last 100 years especially and still with an average height of 180cm Germans are among the tallest (men) in the world with the Dutch only being 3cm taller and most of the ethnic German Germans I know are very close to this height as I am 179-180cm or taller and by quite a bit. The people with heritage from places with smaller average height most likely pull the average down. That's just maths. One quarter of Germans have a migration background by now and it only becomes more. So Germans in the complete spectrum aren't that nordic anymore, but the true ethnic Germans still are of course I would say.

Oh, no german comments on "Deutsche Welle"? I was just saying that those german russians do seem really nice, however I didn't know that Detmold can look so ugly at some places.
