The photos they actually released, and the places they allowed reporters to observe are simply the cleaned up versions of what is really going on behind the scenes. I suspect the actual conditions are much worse than what has been shown so far. It's important to keep up the pressure on the Trump regime over their inhumane treatment of innocents.

Oliver, it's quite easy: if you don't want the true picture of the conditions to be used as propaganda... then make the conditions of a standard whereby they cannot be used as propaganda? It is really that simple. These are children. That was a mattress on the floor of a windowless, abandoned Walmart floor with a tinfoil blanket. That can be used as propaganda, obviously. If the facilities to manage this situation were not made available by this administration when they started their trolling, then someone dropped a huge f**king ball. Not like this administration to be out of step with itself, at all, not in the slightest. They never score own-goals, either. Never. Ever.

My goodness daycare facilities are mandated by law on how many children can be cared for by 1 adult so how is it ok for these facilities to not be held, at the minimum, to the same standards where the children are concerned?

It doesn't matter if you give each kid a million dollars and set them up at the Ritz Carleton, if they don't know what's happening, don't know where their parents are, can't speak to them, not to mention the horror for the parents, it doesn't matter. There's not enough money or reassurance you could give me if I didn't know for a fact my child was safe and cared for and I wasn't able to communicate with him.

I just returned from Holocaust Museum in Wash, DC, I watched films of parents and children being separated from each other as they arrived at the camps, of course, for a different reason, but still couldn’t help feel the comparison.

One of these kids is going to be smart enough to remember every detail of being in there and will tell their story in some way. Just like Anne Frank did because this is traumatizing. I’m Serbian and black. But I grew up around every single race and culture..when it comes to children there are innocent. They are our new generation I pray they remember this to tell in the future.

Everything about this situation is more than disturbingly inhumane. One thing that really struck home for me are the manipulative disgusting trickery to get the kids to leave their parents. This type of abuse may scar these kids worse than most other abuses. It can detrimentally change the life trajectory. The US will be responsible for all these tragedies and I hope responsible for the mental health care these children and are going to need.

I´m not legally qualified, but there is something in the US constitution about "cruel and unusual punishment" . As in that it´s not allowed. Proportionality is an issue in judging that, but I think a good case could be made that the punishment, seperating children from their parents, in relation to the alleged crime, crossing the border without valid documentation, can be seen as cruel and unusual. Because it is a cruel and unusual thing to do anybody that isn´t guilty of a serious or violent crime, or who isn´t a danger to society, themselves or their children. Which these people aren´t.

Having been a victim of having my children taken from me by the state makes me remember and realize what some of these parents and children are going through ... my husband is Canadian and the state would not allow the children to go back to Canada to be with their father and after a very long time the children were no longer ours ... that’s 10 years ago! The immigration laws in this country are horrible and they don’t think they are doing wrong breaking up families. My older sister and her husband Adopted the kids changed their full names and cut off all contact with our family.

I live in Brownsville, Tx. And this policy is stupid to think that seperating kids would deter the people from crossing. In fact it would encourage it because the kids are being taken care of and given a U.S. education. I've heard that parents would prefer to have their kids in the U.S. taken care of rather than risk the dangers of Mexico and other countries with problems.

What happens to the kids after they are removed from their parents? Whats happened to the missing kids? Why aren't the compassionate people of America up in arms about this. The Statue of Liberty is in tears... "Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she with silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!". This is the eugenics pogrom that was implemented in the 1920s writ large again! Protect White America cries Sessions and Trump!

Separating kids from parents would be more expensive and more. Keeping families together eliminate expenses since parents can care for them. The US deports parents, what will happen to the children? This not the America I know. One-man is destroying it.

how else could you possibly keep THAT many people contained, with out losing anyone?? Have you seen some of the shelters our American children live in?? This is not about comfort and luxury. Its about holding them and safely detaining them until their hearings..What did you think they would be living in??

How many poor black kids are ripped from there mom in Detroit because she was caught selling drugs and the baby could not go to jail with her? why are they not outraged about that?
