Schooling in Pentecost university. Private hostel 1000 Ghanaian cedis for a semester (6+ months) We sometimes over stay Four in a room and we love it like that. We don't need AC. Whether sleep in ACs or under fans, we all go wake up the next day God bless Maa Bernice. She sometimes give us bags of rice

There is nothing on campus again....No hall weeks, they lock hostel gates at 12am..If you are out at this time then you will sleep outside till morning..Its better to rent in town than go for hostel

I completed uds in Tamale and i stayed in a one bedroom self contained apartment and paid 1000gh per year. 4000gh in total. The universities in the South are something else
very true...In the year 2010-2014...I paid GHS600 per a year for single self contain room...GHS2,400 per the 4 years I stayed in Tamale. Sometimes our lanlord will even bring us yam and plantain for free
Sheldon do you know what is even annoying? upon all this, you will go and the fan is not working, there are no lights in the room, not even bulb holders for you to fix a bulb mpo and they will tell you to pay their own electrician to fix it for you. even when it works, it's not enough, you'll have to add a standing fan before you can feel cool. The bathrooms are so tiny, you wonder how even 2 people can share that thing. Pent is so annoying eh, you can't even imagine. The scent of weed dier it is there paaa...I had to leave last year because I really couldn't stand it. I can be there and my whole room will be engulfed in smoke from the opposite room. It is outrageous and downright absurd!!!! something must be done about this. the workers there mpo do they get paid that money that they expect students to cough up this outrageous fees?
People haven’t really realized that schooling in Ghana is mostly scam. If we are smart we could learn most of things we want to learn online and invest all these hostel fees into profitable businesses. You’ll finish school and get a job and will be paid Gh600 a month. Education is good, but let’s be honest most people go to uni because of the title(degree) however most don’t know their left and right after school. You go waste money saaaan

Are the rooms fully furnished. It must come with a double bed with blankets and sheets, TV, a study table, chairs, dining area, microwave, electric stove, or gas. Fridge and closet. If it doesn't contain all these, then it's a complete riff off.

It is becoming unbecoming, my younger brother is in tech and the amount of money he is suppose to pay for en hostel fee err....it is so sad and I hope our leaders can put some measures in place to regulate the pricing of hostel fees in this country

It all depends on how you carry yourself and what you want I believe there are lots of cheap hostels in Legon I'm a student of UCC and I can tell you that ,we have expensive and cheap hostels all around yet many students choose the expensive ones over the cheap . However, this price is so absurd .😃
Why is there a different rate for international student for accommodation? That is discrimination. I get it for tuition but accommodation is something else

@kwadwo sheldon the charges for the Nationals is the problem which needs to be looked at. But that's of the International Students is normal because we are also paying same in India and other countries.
Some school, they force you to rent the school hostel. My niece went to a private nursing training school in Kumasi. She was force to paid for the hostel even though she live like 20 minutes walk from the school. 10 in a room with one toilet
Anything housing is poorly managed in Ghana, especially Accra. Home owners and estate developers are taking unnecessary advantage of tenants and this is because the government has created the enabling environment. Its a free market economy so if the government doesn't come out with good fiscal policies business people will cash in and in the end it is the masses that will suffer.
Pent that they always run out of water no💔most of these halls have terrible utility provision but they’d always overcharge I’m glad I left that country 💔
