@@Kudeghraw My neighbor is from California. He is a retired Deputy. My best friend is originally from Michigan, he retired from the CHP and said he will never go back to California, for any reason. I worked for four years on a police department in the Bay Area. I will never go back into California, never! Another neighbor lived in California and is retired from the Navy. He said they could not pay him enough to live in California again. Most of the people I know, in our small town, have exactly the same attitude.
I am not seeing that at all. People are moving here because they want to live HERE not there. So if they changed here to be there, it defeats the purpose. I havent 'met anyone moving in that is looking to change Idaho but hope to be welcomed by Idaho instead.
Gawd…I HOPE THEY KEEP GOING!!!! PLEASE, for the love of all things good; LEAVE, BEAT FEET, GET THE HELL OUT!!!! The locals will be more than happy to take back “OUR” Idaho!!! Don’t threaten…please; make it a promise!

@@charleshetrick3152 Welcome to Idaho Falls! It's a wonderful town to raise a family. It's gotten tough the past few years with more people and an infrastructure that doesn't support it. So don't take us locals to heart when they say go away. What they usually mean is that they want all the congestion and high house prices to go away.
I would love to see more people leave. Housing prices have gone insane since the pandemic. I am lucky enough to own a home, and I'm happy that it has almost doubled in value. However, I'm stuck in it because there is no way I could afford anything decent anymore.

Leaving east Idaho because of the "cold" weather is laughable. Recent years have been downright tropical. Moving to someplace like the desert southwest with 120 degree heat? No thanks.
When you learn that hedge funds are buying up water rights along the Colorado and the reasons why, 120 degree weather and expensive water costs are the future in the SW.
@@terrysteward6765 which part of California? The conservative blue collar towns that support guns, God and freedom? Or the more liberal parts? California’s is a big state and I have yet to meet any liberal Californians coming here
IF (flat wide land) must be different then Poky (tucked in a valley with Mountains that redirect storms) for winter since we have the valley. We have a mild winter for Dec-April with Feb being the coldest, most snow fall, with steady mild wind.
I lived in California 58 years🤮🤮🤬 went to Utah 4 years now I’m here in Idaho. I love it here. I was shocked on all the stores and eating establishments that left California. How could it be to conservative??🙄 no such thing! May I suggest you go to California. Hunting and fishing is the best in the states as far as I’m concerned. The people and drivers here are some of the nicest I’ve met. In Utah I thought the middle finger was welcome to Utah. 🤷♂️. I drove 15 min to see the beautiful forests, and the farms and tractors bring joy to my heart. I’ve watched so many states plow up farmland, almond orchards, fruit, orchards, and build houses are put in hemp. I’m not Mormon but have no problem with them, I talk and interact with them and never had them pushed there’s view on me at all. Wages ? Well I’m retired so I really don’t know what they are here, but gas and fuel is just as comparable then most red states. Go visit California and we can have that conversation. The winters, haven’t experienced one yet, but Utah had some severe weathers. Entertainment? Hmm I’m to old to go to a concert or large crowds if you like entertainment go to Vegas very expensive lots of HOA’s high taxes! Sales tax could not believe it’s 6% here.🥰🥰 wow go to Vegas or California Utah it’s much more there. Property tax I was paying 4000 a year in California here I’m paying 1100 a year. If there one bitch I have, is your code, as retired contractor in the state of California, which is way over regulated the regulations here hardly nothing which is not good when you get into some of the land development, electrical 😳😳😳 among other things. Jc I was shocked to say the least. I’m surprised there not a lot of house fires with houses we looked at.
I enjoyed your video. If people are leaving because they feel Idaho is too conservative, then fantastic. Please leave and take your liberal politics with you. Liberal cities are turning into dumps because of thier horrible policies that don't work.
I have lived (40 minutes) outside of Idaho Falls for many years. Your review is right on the money. You wrapped up the pro's and cons perfectly. I am sure that your honest review will help many people.
The best rib eye steak I've ever eaten (twice) has been in Idaho Falls. The flavor was amazing. And I have had meals all over the world in my life. So there you go... Good Luck!
I've lived here for my entire life of 74 years and it sure is super crazy how many hamster cage apartments are being cheaply built in Idaho Falls. Not to mention the super crazy traffic congestion in recent years.
It's because normal people can't afford a normal house in the new America. It's sad and unfortunate. No one wants to see apartments going up in their area.
yeah so many hamster cage apartments are being cheaply built and at the same time, so many businesses have closed and some that haven't closed are closing. I don't understand
I would like to say, as someone who grew up all over this nation, do to a fther in the navey, and is not religious. The LDS community has been the kindest and most inviting. While visiting family in I.F. my family was constantly invited to Founders Day events, picknicks, bbqs, family gatherings, etc etc. In the short time I was there, we as a family never felt like outsiders. This may be just my experience, but those who do not feel welcome probably aren't comfortable meeting new people and probably feel that way anywhere. I sincerely mean what I say about the church. They are a wonderful community in I.F.
I hope non religious and progressives are moving here to get us closer to modern sensibilities. Hopefully the anti-freedom ultra right types move to North Idaho to be with their kind.
@@LifeinIdahoFallsID Yeah, I don't get it! You talk about , and make it sound like there are hoards and hoards of people leaving..... yes I'm sure there are some leaving... Nah some of us are fleeing from the people’s republic of Washington State. I can tolerate a little cold and wind in exchange for a bit more liberty. Really curious how you feel about the rumors medical staff are fleeing re the abortion laws.
Yes people are definitely moving here more than people are leaving. I haven’t helped any doctors personally or know of any that have left because of that. I would have to look into it
@@LifeinIdahoFallsID it’s mostly the liberal media here in Washington seemingly trying to scare up some controversy but it seemed reasonably possibly after all I’m sorting out leaving do to political policies here. I’m aiming for Boise (rather reasonably far enough out of the city proper to have a couple acres) but your video popped up in my feed so to the algorithm.
@smileyone1612 you don't know traffic. Yes, it's grown substantial in the past 5 years but if you think our traffic is going to scare the new people, it won't. It's nonexistent compared to almost anywhere else.
One common regret: the state betrayed their citizenship during COVID, enforcing lockdowns. I had to have a letter telling police if they stopped me that my job at the Lab was necessary. Then that same Lab you mentioned fired 10% of their workforce for refusing an experimental drug which killed about six employees in one year according to their own leaked records. This same Lab dominates local politics, pushing DEI hiring, and intimidates lawyers who would otherwise represent their employees. The Lab workers themselves do great, necessary work, but the contractor, who holds a near monopoly on US labs nationwide, needs to go. Also, police in the state consider Idaho Falls the worst place to work, as it is also the most dangerous in the state for police officers.
@@goolash1000 not sure where you are getting that report about Idaho falls being the most dangerous. Definitely the safest city I have ever lived in and Boise is much bigger with much more crime. That is a shame about 2020, it was a weird time and a lot of states were doing crazy things. I don’t think any state got it 100% right. The whole thing was wacky
Make good town roading decisions while you’re small or the town will grow locking the roads in and it’s the roads that make the towns, oh and the criminal landscape.
How and whether the government supports and nurtures a criminal landscape over the lives of its actual and law abiding citizen “dreamers” who never got to live and have been overlooked and neglected by this government presumably because they have “citizen” impeding government attention and rectification for the actual domestic injury and plight. It is a lot to unpack and to fathom, but that is what’s going on a national scale.
@@paddlingrubberduckie8766 I haven’t seen any of that personally. Everyone moving here are super conservative. Pro Trump, pro gun, pro God and pro freedom.
@@LifeinIdahoFallsID Bonneville county just voted in a top down government replacing the bottom up government we use to have in the county. This last election has produced a climate were the republicans are to surrender their platform. This was done through the naivety of new republican voters in the area and the deliberate left leaning attacks against the local republican party. Granted water rights was a shoe horn and a key factor in this situation.
I find it interesting that you say conservatives are for freedom when they’re doing everything to take away rights from others. Our medical here is being shredded because of politicians threatening healthcare providers if they have the audacity to help women. Nothing like less medical options due to physicians leaving the state. I e been all over the country. California and New York have the same amount of freedom as Idaho or Montana. And like any other city, Idaho Falls has its pros and cons. Seeing as Idaho Falls is growing and not shrinking, instead of making the video about why people are fleeing (less than coming), it may have been better to write this in such a way to give the pros and cons. Guns and religion isn’t necessarily what Idaho Falls or Idaho is about. Not even close, though there is more of that here than say, Salt Lake which I moved black from after 23 years. As for leaving, the weather is #1 as you alluded to. But I’d take 0 degrees during the winter over 115 in Arizona in the summer. You can dress for the cold. You can travel to Salt Lake and make a day of it for entertainment. Three hours each way isn’t a burden and the trip is entertaining. I think you may need to reevaluate this list as a lot of it doesn’t really apply, or it does, but just like any other city. And here’s to more people moving in, a more diverse group who will bring new cultures to the area, especially ethnic grocery stores. You mentioned that those who don’t have religion might not have culture. Having moved here from Miami in the 70s, I’d say IF had very little culture, while certain people had their own insular culture based on religion or work. Friends who have moved in from other states are quite cultured. Good luck with the real estate business.

@@2mtal718 pretty good! Always improving and building more. I haven’t heard much negative but I am also in the home schooling space so I have a different lens in regards to public schooling. What are you looking for in a public school?
@@LifeinIdahoFallsID oh I'm not even sure my son is only five months old. I was just thinking for the future we are from Illinois. so didn’t want to think about making the move if the schools weren’t good.
@@2mtal718 totally get it! Guess you’ll have to ask yourself what “good” means to you. Most people really like the schools out here. We think public school no matter where you are doesn’t teach great critical thinking skills. It’s more like memorizing facts. That sounds harsh but for us we put our kids in a private school that is like a home school. They spend most of the day outside learning real skills like gardening, science experiments, over course reading and writing etc. but also art, theatre, then working as a team and problem solving. No grades. Just based off their individual skill level… this type of fun, free and student lead learning was more important than memorizing facts in a desk all day. Haha so I’m not the best person to ask! I do know that when schools are bad, you hear about it. I haven’t heard much bad , if any, in this area.
The city school district is overcrowded and they have tried to pass a bond numerous times to try to get more funding to cover the expenses to build more space, but they keep getting denied by the voters.
