There are so many things wrong with this encounter. 4 officers, 4 police cars, and one guy with a camera. Blocking the sidewalk, making pedestrians walk in the street, for what, Ego, pure and simple. Shameful !! Keep up the good work.
There's nothing wrong with the cops responding. That's what we pay them to do. It's the keystone cop behavior after they arrive that's the problem. They just can't talk to the people inside, explain that a camera is legal, then go about their business. They have to escalate. What these audits show is the cops will always side with the business even when the law is on the auditors side.
Until the people entrusted to defend the laws actually obey them themselves, setting a good example, then the system is broken beyond repair whatever happened to personal integrity, pride in the career you have chosen and a common respect for the people you serve, it is all about the money now salary, overtime, second jobs and looking to protect no one but themselves.

There are a LOT of auditors these days. Nick is one of the good ones. This cop is typical. He tries very hard not to answer the question of whether he can demand ID.
Nick makes the same mistake most auditors make. He ASKS if he has to give ID instead of saying he doesn’t have to give ID. This arguing with cops makes the auditor look ignorant. And Nick knows how it works so his asking is dumb.

I am not making excuses. Pay attention this is real. The officer has a vehicle dash cam that is fixed to the front. He also has a microphone that sends to the car to synchronize recorded audio to recorded video. He turned the car around to have the subject of the call in an audio and video recording. Department policy allows placement of the vehicle, even if that means minor violations of vehicle code, so the camera and audio can be used to provide "transparency."
Theses gays who are using cams and filming all the time and talking about the laws rights are all the time recording on purpose and push people to ask them to not film them, they just harassing people and walking on the freedom of theses people and compalin that the other who are brocking their rights. I’m always amazed how many times a “officer” will say they got a call about someone filming, walk up to an auditor and see them recording, then ask, “What’s going on” at least 10 times during the encounter.

He didn't even have lights and sirens on which is one of the requirements for him to be able to break any of the traffic laws. Just one forcement officer is also wearing a body camera audio and video records.
