thanks for making me cry..lol..my pittie T.K was my whole life he passed in feb 2023 from hypothermia yes hypOthermia not hyperthermia he suffered from seizures and one day at the age of 4 he had a seizure he could not recover from and over heated his throat was as wide as a baby bird accepting food i miss him every day i have recently taken in a rescue a pitbull bull mastiff cross named Money she is an amazing friend she too has the stigma attached to her breed and size more so than T.K. did he was pittie/aussie shepherd Money is big like big shes at 100 lbs at 1.5 years ppl are terrified of her i get it but even dog owners?? i love all dogs but pitties are special cheers

It's not fear, it's wisdom. Pits have been bred for aggression and are responsible for the majority of fatal attacks.

​@jdbolick it isn't just pits that attack. I was chased by a black labadore. If it was for a neighbor he would have gotten me. So let's not just say Pitt bulls are aggressive. I have seen videos on you tube where pits protect people from other dogs. All dogs can be dangerous. It is how they are raised. Unless they are bred to be aggressive.

People are responding to their lived experiences as well as countless news reports, articles, videos on RU-vid and animal welfare data on the dangers of Pit Bulls and the REAL threat they pose to other dogs. I had a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and people crossed the street to get away from her yet she was as sweet natured as Gigi. They are getting away from a stereotype not the dog yet they don't realise it. I'm glad you started the meet ups. Gigi has a great Dad!!

its not a matter of bad or good, dogs do not think in that context. Its genetically predisposition temperament. My chihuahua is a nice dog who doesnt bite but he will always be hella aggressive and bark at everything its just in him lmao.

​@deeznutz8320 The Pitbulls in my neighborhood are all goof balls. At least one gets loose during every winter while everyone is trying to shovel themselves out. All they want to do is play and say hi. It has led to mutiple times of everyone stopping and smiling cause of them.

Hi Jay. Your comment really struck me. I had the same experience with my staffy who passed at 13 years old. The stigma around these breeds is ultimately caused by humans who abuse them. It breaks my heart. But those of us who have ever had a bully breed know what amazing, empathetic, kind animals they can be. All they want is just some love. Staffies, in particular ,are just the most loving breed of dog. I wish people knew what we do.

My sentiments exactly. They will forever be my favourite dogs after not only my first childhood dog being a pittie, but also from all the experiences I've had with this breed. They are big sweet idiots! And I mean that in the best way! They aren't stupid, but they are just so freaking silly! 😂

It was a pittie that helped me get over my fear of dogs. They are such amazingly sweet dogs and so gentle with children.

People make up their minds after seeing pits constantly be aggressive and maul people and other dogs. Obviously you would be worried to let some strangers dog known for its aggression play with your baby.

I have a hard time staying away from pitties. Never understood how people could just assume a dog is mean. Heck I have never met a mean pittie.

My dogs have been attacked by pit bulls multiple times. They're sweet til they snap and lock on with the death grip. I don't blame anyone for not wanting their dog to get close to an unfamiliar pit

Pit bull owners always say that their dog was so peaceful and lovely after he attacked children. So what?

@@TheLeannansidhePitt bulls unlike most large dog breeds where never bred for docile temperament. This makes un average their behavior far less predictable. And because they are so powerful they can life long injuries within seconds.
