Many singers can hit the fighter note and take it even higher but it sounds dry and plain boring, the reason is this song fighter is sung with grit, growl, rasp, vocal melisma and agility which Christina seems to possess...Her live performance in back to basic tour of this song Fighter is amazing..
I don't think the b2b performance was the best she has of Fighter, but I'm with you - she has several unique elements to her voice, and I don't think it will ever sound nearly as good from anyone else.
I can see that most of them have the range, but it's still very hard to phrase all those E5S! Still even if they manage to phrase the notes, it's very ti acheive the power XTina has!
It’s not exactly the phrasing that’s challenging, it’s the placement. Everyone thinks it needs to be shouted and pushed to the max but if you listen to the recording, it’s more of a retracted grit. With some distortion that you get from when you’re doing like a “fake mad” shout. Christina isn’t actually screaming it in the studio, it’s very reserved and controlled but hard to remember and replicate live because of the dynamics of a state, acoustics and volume issues. One thinks you gotta shout it and push your vocal chords to the max and what that causes instead is for the sound to come out squeezed and whiny, even on singers with bigger vocal ranges then the song
Three things required for this climax 1. Rasp/Grit - no heady mix is going to make it. 2. A good ability to attack high notes. 3. A good ability to approach the high notes (the inflections before on the word “me” and “enough”) which is something Christina herself talked about on her masterclass (focusing on the note before the high note). These singers sound like a mess because they don’t know what they are supposed to do. I’m sure there are many people who can and have nailed this climax. At the end of the day it’s what made Christina a star and these singers not. 2:34 and the one after were the best
But the 2:34 girl was a bit flat through the start of the climax, it was only the E5s that were perfect. I think the first girl is underrated, yes she did it in her own way, but her pitch is good, the mix voice is strong like Vanessa Amorosi or Jennifer Hudson and she has the grit that you mentioned in her belts.
Her @2.35 she just about matched Christina studio version that was actually a Impressive vocal Performance! Wow Her at the the end she did great to wow!
Why can't people adequately sing "Fighter"? The simple answer is the song requires various vocal techniques-vocal growls and grit, glissando, falsetto, sudden vocal transitions, and belted E5s. You must also sing the song emoting anger, strength, power, and sorrow. It will sound bland if you don't have the raw, rocker style she implements. But most importantly, people are NOT Christina Aguilera. The song was meant for her voice. Mariah has "Emotions," Whitney has "I Will Always Love You," Celine has "My Heart Will Go On," Kelly Clarkson has "Since You've Been Gone" and Christina Aguilera has "Fighter."
hahaha a lot of these were painful but props to them for trying. It's not easy. I think the second girl, the philopenas girl, and jordan sparks were the best
I’m pretty sure they all have great voices but... none of them sound... right with this song... it just doesn’t fit right. I have never heard anyone attempt this climax and actually sound good Christina during B2B era... her voice sounded identical to the recording... this song require a gritty aggressive voice and, all these have very clean voices.
Actually she did try the E5 as a sustained belt during few live performances of this song. The best one is during her b2b tour that was a pretty epic performance. But other than that i havent heard her sing the e5 with lyrics live
This is a song you can't simply like Christina did for the studio version. Not even Christina sings it like in the studio version and that's fine. What matters for this song is the attitude and passion. But these attempts are kinda cringey. Unless you're like a vocal virtuoso, don't even TRY to sing those phrased E5s.
This is just proof u cant imitate her voice. I did like the rasp and power on italy but look at the judges 🤷♂️, 2nd girl trash screamer. 3rd girl was pitchy but tbh she did the best at making it sound like X's.. Michael Jackson on the voice was saved by the F sharp. Girl after messy. Phillipnes girl did OK but no power. Girl after her throat was gonna fall out OG WAS THAT Jordin Sparks :(.. One after same, eh.. Girl after same boring. the battle omg someone pls silence the whiny blonde . next battle even worst. 3rd battle was the best of the battles. At the end of the day some did sound passable but the raspy screamed climax is only heard by most of us by Xtinas timbre. Some of the girls (none of the battles hit the note but it had no rasp and was a little flat.) Also to be fair ive seen her butcher this too loo
