Thanks so much for featuring our home and sharing our story 😊💚 For those of you who want to follow our journey or connect, you can do so on our RU-vid channel www.youtube.com/@hopscotchtheglobe
I love what you've done and how you've covered all the bases for work, play, guests, and community! What I don't understand is how you secure your home when you leave the premises? It looks in the vid like there's zero door or gate or anything to keep anyone (human or otherwise) out of your space. I also wish we could have seen your laundry and storage area since it looks like there's little storage anywhere else. But wow, what an incredibly fun and unique home! Kai will have so many great stories to tell along the way..
@@purplefireweed We've fully enclosed the space since this was filmed. You can get an updated tour on our channel (we are full-time RU-vidrs). We'll be doing another update in a couple weeks from now. Plus there's security in the community and our places is fully secured.
After coming off the road in my motorhome, I wanted to do the same. Life in a well-designed RV is so much simpler that life in a larger house. But having an enclosed garden area sounded ideal.
This definitely looks like a "joyful" village! Living in community makes for a much fuller life, I believe, if you find one that works for you. I love the uniqueness of this home, the beautiful creative ceiling, the views and how the Airstream was incorporated into the casa. A lovely home and family!
I ADORE everything about this video! This young family is amazing, taking such great advantage of their health, and funds. They are investing in those things that TRULY matter, when all is said and done. They are wise beyond their years ☺️. 💖🌸💖
I absolutely love this. Love how they kept the airstream as a bedroom and repurposed parts from it into the new build. I love how it's so open and with all the glass it really brings the outside in and makes you feel like you're a part of nature rather than apart from it. 💚 It's a beautiful home they'll be able to enjoy for years to come at a very reasonable price.
This is gorgeous and a great idea, but they've only been there 3 months and aren't finished with the build. I'd love to see how much they still love this a year from now.
We are 6 months in now and love it even more! We've added much more to it then what you see in this video and it just keeps getting better. We are doing updates on our channel and have the most recent update video coming out over the next couple of weeks
What a great life they have created for their family. Love all the repurposing and love the airstream incorporated. And love the living room swing! Once they finish the airstream interior would love to see an update.
Oh, I could move right in! I love that you let her talk about her room. Yes, the value of these experiences for her is incalculable! Hope she is learning Spanish too! I always wonder where you get groceries and shop for those things that you don't need to buy every week like maybe clothes, shoes, other non-food items. Also, any dangerous critters in the jungle, and how bad are insects? Thanks. Regards from Indiana!
Okay, Kai is adorable. I prefer a cooler and less humid climate so Central America, South America, the Caribbean and others such locations would not appeal to me but this is a gorgeous location. Really beautiful. And the concrete makes a lot of sense considering rainfall and humidity. I'm going to look up their channel I and really hope to see videos of how they built the forms and poured the concrete for the island, kitchen counters and bathroom vanity. Thanks for the tour! Your family is beautiful and I hope you have many happy years there. 😊
Thanks so much! Yes, we have filmed the process and have Q+A videos as well. If you have any questions we haven't answered, ask away and we will include it in an upcoming video.
@@hopscotchtheglobe thank you! When I was younger I would loved to have lived a more alternative life but things like van life and tiny house living as we know it now weren't even on the radar. Now I have responsibilities that keep me where I am but I can learn how to build things that I can incorporate into my current or future life. I used to build houses from the ground up with Habitat for Humanity and my husband built houses with his contractor uncle to pay for college and we built our outbuilding as well as reimagined a few rooms in our house so we know some stuff but are always willing to learn new and different things. 😊 That concrete island, kitchen & bath are just really neat.
I saw these guys on Raya and Louis' vlogs! They live in the same community. I love the glass surrounding the kitchen and would feel very thankful to wake up there every day. 💜
Wow Wow Wow ! Everything is just beautiful ❤ That watermelon looks so delicious. Watermelon in the tropics/islands tastes and looks so much better than in the states. Tfs
I was thinking the same thing! I knew they looked familiar then they said allegria & one clip I saw what looked like their bus in the background 😁 Such a cool community
I always loved my cousins home in Mexico Part of it was open like. The house was open ended . It was made from Adobe. But was cool the temperature was pretty much same temperature year round.may 40 degree between winter to summer. But your home is beautiful. It makes me nostalgic.
Its definetly an awesome bedroom, but getting into the space wasn't so simple hahaha. The journey from Canada to Costa Rica and then actually getting it onto the mountains and then onto our lot....it made me A BIT anxious haha - Kristen
What a beautiful and interesting home! And what an intelligent child! I could not live like that because I would miss our barn with my huge sewing area on the 2nd floor of the barn. But I really do admire people who do this! 😀
Cool to see another RU-vidr that I follow in the video. They featured this house in their video and are thinking of incorporating their bus into their home
Righ?! They are timeless. Kids think we live in a spaceship and older generations feel nostalgic when they see a vintage Airstream. Everyone can appreciate them.
I love the idea of an outdoor kitchen. I actually wouldn’t enclose the space with cabinetry, I love how open and airy it feels right now, but like you said, it’s ever evolving to fit your needs.
They have 800 watt solar panels and that large refrigerator, which may indeed use the 800 watts. Then, the washer, dryer, and induction stove along with other smaller appliances. Is the solar panel their only power, or do they have grid too?
Thank you so much for showing your home it’s so beautiful and nicely built. You made it your own and I think that’s nice your daughter has a working desk too like you both do. Love the house and Air Stream. Love that you have been traveling all around the world with your family. I heard Costa Rica was beautiful. I love the bird toucan. I love monkeys must be nice waking up the monkeys and those beautiful birds. I wish I could see the cabinets when done. Everything is nice great job!
Thank you! If you subscriber to our channel, we are always posting updates (we post weekly videos), so you'll be able to see the cabinets when they are done.
I love this so much! What an amazing idea and execution. I think it's such a wise investment. $250,000 is such a great price in this day and time. It's on a beautiful lot with a great setting and view. It's a little piece of heaven. Thanks for the tour! 💗
Thanks for watching! Yes, we think it was a great investment too. Plus we have all the benefits of the community areas and just living in community in general is the absolute best.
Grand parents ,Did this . Did hook up to Gas Electric. And It Still Is Very Nice . Has withstood many Hurricanes. No problems ! Easy to add on no pressures .
Is the house completely open where the airstream is parked? I don't understand how they keep bugs and animals out if it's completely open on the air stream side. The house is cute, and I love the cement counters. It's a very unique home. ❤
We've fully enclosed the space since this was filmed. You can get an updated tour on our channel (we are full-time RU-vidrs). We'll be doing another update in a couple weeks from now. So stay tuned!
Hey! We hadn't finished enclosing it when this was filmed. The back area is enclose using screens and teak wood and we LOVE it. We are posting an updated house tour on our channel if you want to see how it turned out :)
Do you film the on-site footage yourself? Or do the interviewees film it and send it into you? Just curious on the logistics. Love the channel, been watching for years now.
