Fake Veneer "techs" are installing veneers into people's mouths and the results have been horrific. 20 year dental assistant here. You need to educate yourself.A dentist is like a plastic surgeon. You wouldn't get the cheapest breast implants.Dont go into any procedure without educating yourself. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

I almost had veneers done on 4 of my front teeth (strictly for cosmetic purposes). When I discussed with my dentist, with my concerns about filing them to pegs, he looked at me funny and said good, credible dentists don’t do that. They only file a small portion of them to fit the veneer around. However, once you have the veneers put on, they’re on for life. To me, I want to keep my own teeth and not risk any complications. I’ve been blessed with good teeth and take really good care of them. I decided against the veneers. I had never heard of veneer techs! They should be banned 😡 (IMHO).

Good call. Save your healthy enamel. Most of ppl with dental problems would never do elective drilling on healthy enamel. With that said, I hope you love your smile. 🤞🏽

They are totally illegal. These people are doing it illegaly and could (should) totally be prosecuted! Real veneers are bonded to the tooth, the grinding to pegs, those are crowns.

Your story sounds like a lie. The second you would say a pegs dentist would tell you those are crowns not veneers.

She did not go to a real dentist. A proper dentist will follow up with the work they did. Most dentists do not prescribe narcotics because people tend to abuse the drugs.

I have a couple of crowns. That is exactly the process for crowns. Veneer sounds like it would just be a thin overlay. Btw: my crowns have both broken and had to be replaced.

Yes. No restorations last forever. 5-10 year life span for crowns. If you don’t floss every single day, then you will get decay and need to replace sooner. It’s all about home care and regular check ups.

I have veneers. I went through a great deal of depression in the day and didn't take care of my teeth. As a result I had to get 4 teeth up front done. It was painful! They shave down the tooth, make a mold trying to match up what it looked like, kind of, and the colour. They then give temp veneers while you wait for the good ones to come. Those HURT and fall off easy. It took a year after for my teeth to not bother me as much from the work. DON'T do it unless you have to.

Theres a thing called veneer breath (similar to grill breath) because if things JUST like this. People have been getting gold teeth done by "grill techs" (exact same thing as these veneer techs) for years and the breath they have is ungodly!!

Try being a redhead and doctors/dentists don't give you the extr 20-30% anesthesia that you need to be numb long enough to get through your dental work and as soon as they hit something like a nerve and you hit the roof from the pain and only then they go "oh, you can feel that?!" And they look at their tech/assistant and say "we gotta work faster!!" Yeah say suffering through the pain is worse than just dying

TBH this is a lesson in narcissism and sadly most people experiencing it will never realize that. An obsession with your appearance you can’t leave alone will slowly deteriorate what was probably fine to start with. In the end you come out uglier.

I got my wisdom teeth pulled without being put under but they did inject a numbing agent with a needle. I didn’t feel much pain, just a lot of pressure.

Yeah that’s called local anasthesia not general anasthesia or IV sedation. It’s the most commonly done option and even I had it done for my wisdom teeth so it’s not as rare as you think. What about it?

When i was a kid i smashed my front teeth on the handle bar of the bus when it stopped too fast. I got kind of like big fillings to fix them. Then when i was an adult i got veneers to cover the big chips instead. The dentist didnt file them down to a stump he just filed down the chipped teeth a bit, then pit the veneers on. And only 3 teeth not a whole mouthful lol.

Ohh this video, I've never had nor would have ever wanted veneers. I had 19 teeth extracted about 14 years ago. I have 9 left and almost all of them are flush up against my gums. I can't even wear regular dentures because I have a very good gag reflex ughh and I can't have that part that covers the roof of your month. I had partials but they were the worst cheapest things possible. They ended up just breaking one day. Out of nowhere. I couldn't even eat with them on. That was like 10 years ago and the 9 teeth I have are the only things I can bite with. They're a lot worse now. I keep seeing these "affordable dental implants", and then they quote me like $20,000. Uh I'm sorry, I'm on disability and I don't even make NEAR that much money in an entire year. I've been looking at a clinic in Mexico for a looooong time. I have to presume they're good because they're still open! So, if anyone reads this and has any suggestions for me to maybe find some implants that I can afford, let me know?! (I'm in Texas but am able to travel).

My teeth aren't white or perfect, they're far from it. And I won't lie, I don't like them. I touch them up in pictures, but I also just think - I was given a decent set of healthy teeth and I need to be grateful for and appreciative of that. So I would never do this stuff. Especially when you speak about people out there like the girl you know whose teeth fell out when she was young because of a condition she has. They need to be helped, imagine how you would feel if you had something like that, that made your teeth drop out. Not only does it affect you physically, for some it would affect their mental health too, confidence, self-esteem.etc

Cody, why is Turkey in the thumbnail? Make no mistake, they have EXCELLENT surgeons in Turkiye. Problem is, cheap surgery is sought and not enough regulation. Look for at least the health tourism authorization for any country for medical tourism. People get hacked anywhere sadly, and the doctor should have the highest certifications. I agree with you tooth pain is terrible, I've lost one due to a cavity going through to the root in not very long - the pain vibrates through your body. Went down to my bone as you said, it is HORRENDOUS. P.S. it's referred pain that you were talking about in tbe vid. This is also crazy because in Canada dentists cannot do this.

Not really sure what you're talking about teeth causing pain being removed. It hasn't been a thing I was willing to do, but it did come up one time. I chose to pay the extra money and have a root canal. That wasn't nearly as bad as anyone made it to be and that was only with locals. Another time I had a wisdom tooth that needed to come out but I didn't have the money to pay a surgeon. The tooth wasn't all the way in so well it wasn't even in enough to be pulled. So pretty much surgery is the only way right? No. I've got an old dentist who says he had his stuff paid off over 30 years ago and he likes to pass on the savings to his customers. Sounds good right? Yeah, until he does locals and literally uses a hammer and chisel to get your tooth out. But I didn't feel none of that either and it was all because of locals. So I don't know man it just sounds like, well, like I'm really lucky to have the dentist I have and like you all need to start looking a little harder before you make such decisions.
