Did it break anyone else's heart when it snapped back to reality and it was a fantasy? Goddamn this show is amazing. Like Carver's time on Supernatural hit or miss, but as Doom Patrol's Showrunner he's knocked it out of the park.
Seeing a character I like who's depressed through out the series and needed just one moment of happiness. get that moment, flipped on his head and turned into a dream. It was a punch to the gut. great show 9 out of 10 (up to ep 8) can't wait to see the rest.
I had subtitles on, just from instinct, and I saw a dash that generally indicates an interruption in a line. It was still a jarring transition regardless though.
I didn't know this is a Kelly Clarkson song, so obviously after watching the AMAZING 8th episode of Doom Patrol, I googled the song, and listened to her version. This version is WAY superior, and I hope it gets an official release. AMAZING, and so fits the tone of the episode (which had better win an EMMY for outstanding television series).
I freaking love this scene in the show. It is so beautiful to see Negative Man so happy and free, to have that one moment of perfection, even if it was just in his imagination. What a song. What a scene. What a show.
Doom Patrol just keeps getting better and better, and the episode “Danny Patrol” is the perfect example of its popularity. This is one of the most fun and happy episodes of Doom Patrol. I never heard of the Kellie Clarkson version of this song, and I’m not the hugest fan of pop music, but this song...god I love thus version! Well the the day is over, the night is young, and I just want to dance, dance, DANCE!!! HIT IT, MATT BOMBER!!! (Matt Bomber, what a cool name. Very G.I. Joe like. 😀)
@@geraldllorag5625 Yes! Danny the Street was one of many of my favorite things about the Grant Morrison run on Doom Patrol, and this episode captured them SO well!!!
This version is much better than the original. A drag queen and a bi (correction accepted) mummy singing it on the stage is great. It resonates to us, the misfits of the world.
@@Transformers217 But I think the core of the episode is more about people that are different: misfits of all kinds as those in the Doom Patrol than about sexual orientation. I doubt they would form a special task force active for 60 years only to witch hunt gay people. Specially after the 80's. SPOILER ALERT: The chief is not ... well read the comics if you really want to know...or ask and I will tell...
@@agranero6 in the comics, the special task force in question does exactly that. Their remit was to exterminate anybody and anything that didn't fit into their insanely restrictive 1950s ideal of what's normal.
When I saw Kelly’s version I must admit. I liked it but did not wow me. Had forgotten all about it. Then I saw this and wow. It hit me. So much more powerful and resonated with me.
Lyrics: We come into this world unknown But know that we are not alone They try and knock us down But change is coming, it's our time now Hey, everybody loses it Everybody wants to throw it all away sometimes And hey, yeah I know what you're going through Don't let it get the best of you, you'll make it out alive Oh, people like us we've gotta stick together Keep your head up, nothing lasts forever Here's to the damned to the lost and forgotten It's hard to get high when you're living on the bottom Oh woah oh, oh woah oh We are all misfits living in a world on fire Oh woah oh, oh woah oh Sing it for the people like us, the people like us Hey, this is not a funeral It's a revolution, after all your tears have turned to rage Just wait, everything will be okay Even when you're feeling like it's going down in flames Oh, people like us we've gotta stick together Keep your head up nothing lasts forever Here's to the damned, to the lost and forgotten It's hard to get high when you're living on the bottom Oh woah oh, oh woah oh We are all misfits living in a world on fire Oh woah oh, oh woah oh Sing it for the people like us, the people like us They can't do nothing to you, they can't do nothing to me This is the life that we choose, this is the life that we bleed So throw your fists in the air, come out, come out if you dare Tonight we're gonna change forever Everybody loses it, Everybody wants to throw it all away sometimes Oh, people like us we've gotta stick together Keep your head up nothing lasts forever Here's to the damned, to the lost and forgotten It's hard to get high when you're living on the bottom Oh woah oh, oh woah oh We are all misfits living in a world on fire Oh woah oh, oh woah oh Sing it for the people like us, the people like us Oh woah oh, oh woah oh We're all misfits living in a world on fire Oh woah oh, oh woah oh Sing it for the people like us, the people like us They can't do nothing to you, they can't do nothing to me This is the life that we choose, this is the life that we bleed So throw your fists in the air, come out, come out if you dare Tonight we're gonna change forever Everybody loses it, Everybody wants to throw it all away sometimes Oh, people like us we've gotta stick together Keep your head up nothing lasts forever Here's to the damned, to the lost and forgotten It's hard to get high when you're living on the bottom Oh woah oh, oh woah oh We're all misfits living in a world on fire Oh woah oh, oh woah oh Sing it for the people like us, the people like us Oh woah oh, oh woah oh We're all misfits living in a world on fire Oh woah oh, oh woah oh Sing it for the people like us, the people like us
in that case you're not the only one , i find it extremely emotional too....one of those things when u love something so much that u cry out of happiness )
@@MoniMaYT u don't have to feel bad , u don't have control over what someones emotional response may be , music can create those type of feelings , well that's what it's there for , to make you feel gees bumps , especially with those kind of lyrics . I'm a straight guy but the phylosophy in those words is immense...It's an absolute masterpiece in terms of lifting spirit . maybe personally that's why i did actualy cried coz i'm going through a lot of bad time and this song has absolutely reminded me no matter what and who said whatever just carry on , just sometimes we need music to tune that freqency inside of us to get us back on a positive note =)
Push the IP holders on twitter and stuff. It feels too produced for them to not be aiming to drop it officially on streaming services, they just need encouragement.
Remember the episode of The Flash (Season 3, Episode 17) where Barry (Grant Gustin) sings "Running Home to You"? Well, I'd say if someone got Matt Bomer and Grant Gustin in a crowded auditorium and gave them microphones, the resulting duet might not bring about world peace, but it would transport everyone there to a higher plane of existence.
Amazing scene, amazing show keeps getting better! Haven’t heard the original but this is a banger of a tune I love matts voice and negative man is my fav character tied with cliff. Can’t stress enough how amazing this show and song is ❤️🤙🏻
I have to sign in to RU-vid just to say only one thing: For god-damn-sake! Please make a MV of this song verion DOOM PATROL please! Gosh! It is sooooo damn good!
damn scene and song is so inspiring and motivational that i almost cried. being free and happy from all sadness and depression, even for just a moment. never heard of this song before but fell in love with the voice and lyrics. "Keep your head up, nothing lasts forever." :')
Doom Patrol best show right now 😍 every Friday I get excited lol cause it going to be a home run ! And this is so much better than Kelly Clarkson like has a bad day this made my day lol 😅
iTunes, Spotify, etc.. I'm not sure the producers of Doom Patrol would know how good this song would turn out.. So yeah.. Release a real version. But what a damn good version (No offence to Kelly Clarkson).
I can see Larry singing this in Doom Manor while everyone else dances in their seperate rooms lol also I wonder why the girl from titans isnt mentioned or seen on the show lol
@@litishanaidoo1840 oh I didn't know that I assumed it was same universe as titans. I thought it was weird they never mention gar. Thanks for the heads up.
Somehow this is rlly good. I rlly hate the flash/superhero musical thing and I’m not a CW fan but as far as superheroes shows go this is the best around and this is also the best musical number in 1 that actually served the service of the story.
kato robles no DC UNIVERSE did it’s a streaming service in America with just DC stuff on there. But in countries not in US it’ll come on Netflix after the series has stopped airing in America.
Doom patrol is now my favourite superhero show and maybe my favourite show of the year and it’s not finished yet. Even including the living street in its first season and it wasn’t out of place. This show makes up for the disaster that was titans. Quick question do they share the same universe because doom patrol is in titans but with different actors?
This is all from the new DC streaming service.. So yes, they share the same universe.. But hey, it is live DC show. So they have plenty of time to screw it up.
Lost Freq 8\15 episodes. Yeah they do have time to mess up but normal cracks start to show mid series. So far even though it has potential to fail with the ending. the characters are more interesting than the story by this point. Even If the story ending missed the mark at least the characters make the show good and worth watching.
@@MoniMaYT 'is this nerdy?' depends on what you class as nerdy. streaming shows based on comics books? why stay up till 4 then try reading comments and then leave a comment saying you cant read? were talking about the show and how dc has a tendency to mess up there properties. i.e. titans, batman v superman, justice leag. and how doom patrol seems different.
Woah Woh-Ohhh! Big Doom Patrol fan and saw this on Danny The Street's Peepin' Tom's Perpetual Cabaret, w Negative Man & Lt. Morris aka Mora-Lee Kerropt, sing this sublime Anthem (however) Interrupted/incomplete. Didn't know the song People Like Us orig. performed by K Clarkson (U guessed it, girlz & bois; Ah live under a rock), checked it out and it's good, powerful, but it's mostly due to the Song itself being pretty darn transcendent. Iow, despite being cut off b4 the end, this is the best version of the song by far. Just sayin', on my own lil' lon-sum, just a misfit speaking in a world on fire...;-/ So a big shout out & large XO XO thank you to The Doom Patrol team, in front & behind the camera, for creating & giving this incredible song its just due via this version. All misfiits singalong, for People Like Us! ;-P
seriously, they need to gather up all the singing awards and just immediately hand them over to matt and then they need to gather up all the emmys and immediately hand them over to doom patrol
If this wasn't a Kelly Clarkson song, it would make a great entry song for the USA (performed by Matt Bomer and Alan Mingo Jr. if it ever gets into the Eurovision Song Contest (unlikely, but look at Australia). It would finish in the Top 5 at least.
Man. I LOVE Kelly Clarkson's voice, but there is just so much more emotion in this version. I would love to hear her vocals overlap this version, like singing another verse. I can't edit though. Lol
