I agree Charles Darwin is very considerate and humble in his writing - in the Origin of Species, he never claimed he was right about something, he is just stating his observation. He’s my favorite scientist. And a true definition of scientific thinking. I wonder what he would think of CRISPR

Currently reading On the Origin of Species by Darwin for the first time. Darwin was the quintessential scientist. "Enormously considerate" (as David Attenborough beautifully puts it), but also an ingenious critical thinker very much ahead of his time.

@sjobang
@sjobang 6 лет назад
There is a striking connection in nature that I have never heard mentioned before, between two characteristics among animals. All big brained animals (the big whales, the big primates, the elephants etc.) has a very slow reproductional rate, spending years at nurturing (usually) just one offspring at a time. Birds normally have bigger brains than equally sized reptiles, and spend more time nurturing a fewer number of offspring than reptiles do (who usually don't nurture their offspring at all). Mammals normally have bigger brains than equally sized birds. They/we spend more time nurturing (often) a fewer number of offspring than birds do, and there seems to be a clear connection in nature, between brain size and the investment in each offspring. This investment comes in the form of care and if there is a major driving force, behind the evolution of increasingly bigger brains, I belive it is care. As the brains grew the ability to care for the offspring also grew, and to me it seems plausible that it has caused a self strengthening effect - among many different groups of animals.
@dielaughing73
@dielaughing73 8 дней назад
It's also a matter of necessity. The reason human babies are so helpless is because their brains are *far* from fully-formed, because a bigger head can't fit through the birth canal. Simple as that. But the investment this imposes on the baby's parents and extended family is outweighed by the benefit of that brain once it's grown.

We are not Worthy!
@venkateshbabu5623
@venkateshbabu5623 6 лет назад
You have to write a paper titled " Forensics of the Cosmos ' . First let us define things. Cosmos are the entirety of the known and unknown of the place we live or exist. Superficial definition though to understandable level. Everyone knows what is a point. A point is something like a dot. To represent something we need a point. A group of points sequentially aligned is called a line. Alignments can be in any form. And names are given to each type as straight line curved lines and others depending on the kind of patterns they follow. And so on..
@venkateshbabu5623
@venkateshbabu5623 6 лет назад
Patterns create complexity depending on orientation though assuming continuity and non continuity. These patterns when they are visible makes contours and if they are invisible they seize to exist. The mix between the visible and the invisible appears to be moving or not moving on how they overlay. Something like a picture when you see them from different angels. When you differ the angle or the orientations from zero to one full circle we get a frame. Now moving along a sphere we get a movie. This is the three dimensional hologram. Now if we go to the next level of the circle or the contours are different over the surface of the angle we might see a different hologram. The same illusions can be created when we see the objects of the hologram from a point inside the hologram and vary the angels of the point. This is what we observe in the place around us. So if we take a complete map. .. So the cosmos is a hologram and that is what we see and understand. That is the first step towards understanding the cosmos. Now other definitions comes into play like what is a black hole in this pattern. Then what is a universe and what is a multi verse. Then what are galaxies. Each represented as a part of the holograms and the specific patterns they create.
@venkateshbabu5623
@venkateshbabu5623 6 лет назад
Then we introduce the concept of time. Then mass and energy.
@venkateshbabu5623
@venkateshbabu5623 6 лет назад
Time is the concept of switch between sequential frame or angle of variations.
@venkateshbabu5623
@venkateshbabu5623 6 лет назад
Mass is a full cycle of vedio.
@venkateshbabu5623
@venkateshbabu5623 6 лет назад
Energy is a full vedio of sphere on a specific path.

@MoA-Reload... 6 лет назад
The interview you're talking about they were talking about a river in the Amazon and a guy that sits around waiting for a tidal wave that he surfs up the river. Holly asked "How often does it come?" NOT what causes the wave as you suggest. He answered explaining that it happens when the Sun and the Moon are aligned and he said he thought it was around once every couple of months...so he not only answered the question, he gave more detail than was asked for. I'd suggest you either clear your ears out or fix that selective hearing issue you seem to have.
