I'm turning 40 years old and I'm still a failure. Been years narin. I'm currently employed but I'm not stable. Yun mga colleagues ko, they're already established. Underrated, undervalued, overlooked. Mahirap din maging late bloomer. I don't believe in late bloomers. I wasted a lot of years and years at ngayon, wala parin progress. Nakakahiya sa nanay ko tinutulungan pa ako ng ilang taon na. Tapos ako pa yun panganay. Nakakahiya. So pathetic. Only God knows the future pero mahirap lang talaga maging late bloomer, o baka it's either you make it early or none at all.

I am a Salutatorian. I am a straight quiz bee champion for years. I have my medals but I failed the CPA licensure exams 3 times and passed on my 4th. It was 4 long years of review including the pandemic. I totally agree with introspection. I tried all the techniques and opinions of other people but I always fail. It was when I learn to know myself is when I started to grow. I was also dwelling in my past experiences that I believe caused my failures. I dwell in the past that I forgot I should drive my life with accountability. You are the driver of your life. No one can do it for you. You have to own yourself. Most of all, I let God and His will be done.

@@winelov833 Honestly, big factor for me is my lack of enthusiasm to really study the subjects with all my might on my undergrad. Hindi sa di ako ako nag-aral pero nashock ako sa dapat inaral ko pala talaga ng undergrad. Yung best ko pala dapat lagi. Hindi Pwedeng Pwede na. Naunahan ako ng lahat ng takot ko and all the past/sunk costs na binuhay ko nung 3 attempts ko. Laging sa araw ng exams di ako panatag. I think on my 4th mas naging buhay ako at inenjoy ko ang review at mabuhay.

Bcause the world is already a fast-paced environment, nakakafrustrate makita yung sarili mo na naleleft behind and thinking na hindi ka nakakausad kaysa sa iba. Watching this video while eating in my dorm room alone. I didn't expect na iiyak ako habang inuulam ko yung siomai. Im 25 yrs old and stuck in college for almost 6 yrs and was working for many years to provide for myself. I feel so left behind. Lahat na ata ng batchmates and friends of my age are already graduates and working on their respective careers. Thank you for this video. For the longest time that I felt numb, I feel better crying out those disappointment on myself. I hope that I could finish this architecture journey, and hoping I'll graduate this year.

I'm so proud of you po for not giving up and making it this far. I know how hard architecture is and kung gano sya nakakaubos, I'm just in my first year but I decided to drop out and I feel like a failure for giving up my dream just like that, and I have my regrets. What I experienced is nothing to what you experienced for 6 years, and I respect you and I envy you at the same time kase you're so srong po for not giving up. I hope you get that diploma Architect! 30yrs old here, failed in life. Unemployed for 3 years. Ang hirap hanapin yung value mo at purpose sa buhay kung wala ka ng makitang hope from everything that happened. Sigh. Hugs to everyone

idk if this might help, but you can try some other things and other workarounds to keep you going and search for your purpose. idk what you're coming from pero sa hirap ng life as of today, we need to move forward and atleast earn as much as we can to provide atleast our basic needs. As someone who was once considered as "the best student" and a former achiever, this moved me to tears. I'm falling behind because I have to balance work and school simultaneously to not become a burden to my parents, and I still do not know how to figure things out on my own. 21 years old here. I can relate to kuya Colin na my friends will graduate first while I'll be delayed for 2 years instead of 1. Feels wrong too na Pati mga Tao who've made your life hellish, makakagraduate cla on time and I can just notice and compare that their life is much vibrant than mine.

as someone who used to be a top student from kindergarten to junior high school to barely passing in college, this episode hits close to home. i don't know what dimmed my light and why i no longer shine as bright as i did before. the past months have been unbearably hard. i'm clinging to that tiny hope that one day, i will figure things out din. everything will be okay and i'll be just fine.

When I was in college, I always failed my Mathematics subject. Dahil Math doesn't interest me, I did not put in the effort to learn it. But it doesn't make me define who I am. Now, I can confidently say na isa ako sa mga guro that excels in my workplace. I've been handling a special science class for more than a decade, won in the competitions, got recognitions in the field of Science, and soon to teach in the USA. It's a matter of perspective - kung paano mo haharapin at tatanggapin ang failures sa buhay. In my case, ginamit ko ito to better myself. Looking back, without those failures, I am not who I am today.

"Take personal responsibility for your life. Be responsible for your life to the point that you will refuse to give up because you've taken your life so far." Thank you Lord for showing this to me at the moment i need it the most. Honestly made me tear up kasi narealize ko na ilang beses ko na rin iginapang sarili ko before and made me realize how long I've been holding on and trying to be strong. This truly made me cry because i was considered as one of the pioneers "brightest stars and smartest people" in our family, community and school. They were shocked, disappointed and ashamed becausr why a "brightest star" couldn't flick a light anymore, I can't graduate at same time with my circle, I failed at things. I was busy battling a very troubled water just to stay afloat. I was prioritizing my mental because i was diagnosed with major depressive disorder for 2 years and counting. They didn't know that I became like this because my father whom I considered as one of my two pillars of hope, died. He was my biggest supporter, made me came out of closet and accepted me, helped me in my financial problems back then. And unfortunately, pandemic hits, and tatay took it harder, and he is now with God. And because of that unfortunate event, it took a toll on me, I couldn't do things, I failed subjects to subjects, I was devoid the motivation, I lack "will and life". And right now i am taking one step at a time to accept things. Slowly regaining my "will and life". Gently to go back to school, again.

Hello there, I've had the somewhat the same experience with you. The word 'smart' was already attached to my name even when I was a child. But to be honest I don't think that adjective fits me, I've just managed to become an achiever because I was diligent in school. I became the class valedictorian in elementary, achiever until high school (I even delivered the closing remarks), became a DOST scholar and dean's lister taking up BS in MedTech. As time goes by, the lack of sleep, stress, internal pressure and even financial issues caught up to me. With constant worries troubling my mind, I have not been able to sleep for more than a month while still finishing my final exams. I just cried all day while trying to comprehend everything that I have to study. Negative thoughts then lingered at the back of my mind. "What if I fail?" "What will my classmates and other people say?" "I need to find another university in case I fail." "I don't think I am smart enough to finish this course." "I was never intelligent, masipag lang ako." All of those thoughts came spiraling and paralyzed me. After first year of collegeI still wasn't okay. And then summer class is coming up. My mother suggested that I'll just take a break from school but I was hesistant because of my scholarship and what would other people think of me. That I was always at the top of the class and now I can't handle college. I started having suicidal thoughts so my mother brought me to a hospital and at the age of 18, I was diagnose with major depressive disorder. I still enrolled for my summer class. But I became overwhelmed with all of the homeworks coming up and I am still in distress. So I finally agreed to take a break from all that. I remember calling my mom saying, "Ma, wala na yung pangarap ko" while crying in my room. And then now, my friends and classmates are now set graduate this year. Most of them are graduating from different respected schools (UP, UST, ADMU) as magna cum laude, cum laude, and have distinctive awards. I am indeed proud of what they all achieved, but I would be lying if I say that there's no hint of jealousy in my part. I am still under medications and I recently started psychotherapy due to recent episodes. At the present, I actually don't know what steps to take. I don't even know if I can still get back at the old me- the achiever, now that even surviving a day is now a feat for me.

I just want to share my experience rn at sana makahelp sayo to look forward at dika nag iisa sa nararamdaman mo and your feelings is valid. We will get through this. Copy paste nalang tong comment ko dahil napost kona baka dimo mabasa Thank you for appearing sa show nato mga ate's and kuya's. Grabe nakakarelate ako sainyo especially sa kay kuya TJ at kay kuya naka black. This sy incoming 3rd year irregular po ako BS Pharmacy course ko and the rest na mga friends ko is regular. For me this is my biggest failure sa sarili ko totally naka relate ako sa sinabi mo na mapapaisip ka nalang bakit yung iba kaya nilang ipasa yung mga subjects tas while ako I give my best but not good enough to be there. This course and college humbled my life because ever since elementary I was an achiever at pagtungtong ko ng college 1st year second sem may nabagsak ako na dalawang subject which is my pre requisite na next sy. Hindi ko alam ano gagawin ko that time at diko alam paano ako makacope up, nalilito na ako if mag shishift naba ako pero humingi ako ng sign para sa buhay ko na if I am still happy pursuing this path despite of what happened, papatuloy ko itong course na ito. Nakikita ko pa sarili ko as future pharmacist that's why di na ako nagshift. Di pa din alam ng parents ko na yung anak nilang kumikinang dati failure na ngayon, Di ko alam paano ko sasabihin sakanila especially papasok na ako as 3rd year irregular. Yung pressure at insecurities ko sumasabay since parents ko is very supportive saakin ang gawin ko nalang mag aral ng mabuti but yet I still failed a certain subjects. Grabe yung relate ko sa sinabi mo kuya na napapaisip ka nalang bat iba kaya nilang ipasa yung mga subjects. I am doing okay na and I keep learning for this ongoing path I am taking right now pero minsan di lng talaga maiwasan ang mga why's and what ifs sa buhay katulad ngayon I am watching this because I am not okay. hindi ko nga magawa maapreciate sarili ko napasa ko lahat mga subs ko now at graudate na ako sa dalawang subs na retake ko. I feel like I am left behind especially mga kaibigan ko regular silang papasok sa 3rd year at ibang friends ko na isa lang na subject bagsak nila may makuha sila na subs na diko pa makuha ksi dalawa yung nabagsak ko dati which is pre requisite niya yun. Right now I am not okay bumabalik nanaman mga bangungot ko yung mga expectations and etc. I know maayos kodin ito sadyang sobrang pressure lang ako ngayon. Tama si kuya TJ na when you learned something, minsan alam mona sa buhay mo if magfafail ka or hindi thats why naka cope up ako napasa ko lahat subs ko now pero again diko magawang ma appeciate dahil pinangungunahan ako ng anxiety ko nanaman. Naiisip ko nanaman na I am a big failure na talaga diko alam if may big future paba ako. sana more content pa na ganito recreate naappreciate ko to sobra. Namotivate ako to keep going huhu

Para sa maraming tao kapag nabibigo sila, susubok ulit sila kahit mahirap. Sa akin naman ang mahirap ay ‘yung paulit ulit na pagbangon at paibaiba ng diskarte pero pumapalya pa rin 😂 Resilience was never the issue but acceptance of my limitations.

Hindi ka nag-iisa. Ako din. Marami ako na gustong gawin pero hindi ko nagagawa dahil sa limitation. The good news is....self-aware ka. Alam mo ano ang kaya mo gawin. Alam mo rin ang dapat matutunan mo. Cliche as it sounds, go pa rin ng go. Ang ginawa ko lang ay inniiba ang mindset ko. Imbes na iisipin na nasa karera ako at kailangan kong bilisan; innisip ko na halaman lang ako. Unti-unti ko inaalagan ang mga kinkailangan ko. Mabagal. Pero slowly and surely may magbabago pa rin. So keep going friend. Maabot mo rin yan.

Wow naiiyak ako habang pinapanood ko to like really hmm kase ako 27 na no work at umaasa lang sa parents ko. Achiever ako dati gang HS then nung college nabully ako nadepress at nagka anxiety at now lalong lumalala anxiety ko nagpatong patong na now meron na din akong social anxiety di ako lumalabas sa bahay di rin ako makapag work kase wala akong confidence lalo na at eto nga anxious ako sobra di ako makalayo sa bahay nang di ako nagpapanic attack feel ko wala na akong kwenta daig ko pa inutil hmm samantalang mga batch mates ko may sari sarili nang career hay dear god i trust you kung eto kelangan kong pagdaanan titiisin ko hopefully lang sana mag end na soon pakitaan mo naman ako kahit konting liwanag mafeel ko lang na may chance pa ko

I feel like failure, disappointment and rejection is often glossed over on social media. Achievements and competition instead, is highly glamorized that it disorients our view towards "trying" in life. Thank you for this video! through experiences we gain wisdom.

Thanks for this. I didn't think hearing someone with a similar plight as mine would be helpful and reflective. We are soldiers of failure, it was part of our life but we feel that it became our badge and armour of experience. I hope we all get through our struggles regardless of time and history. I have a similar struggle. 9yrs in college, job hopping around 10yrs, online freelancing due to pandemic, and now taking a chance in changing careers through law school entrance exams. I dunno where this journey will lean me to at age 35. But hey, lets do this!

I was struggling and failing as well, but I don’t give up and I won’t give up. As Enrique Razon said, “Kung takong kang matalo, talagang talo kana.” I’m trying to practice that and I’m surprised that I’m doing well. Unlike before, when there was an opportunity, I was afraid to take it because I was nervous until the opportunity completely disappeared. I failed a lot, but one success covered a multitude of failures.

Having support is crucial, lalo na real friends. Sa iba, easier yun. However, there are some na wala talagang support from friends and family. Some would say na "Dapat humingi ka ng tulong." Yun nga lang, there are those who do not know how and do now know where to ask for help dahil sa dami ng taong na 'fail' sila. Be kind to others most especially those who are struggling. Check on your family and friends. Thank you for sharing this! It is worth watching and sharing!

I cried so much bcs of this episode I just realized I'm still not fully healed from failing my licensure exam. I always say na "okay lang siguro hindi ko pa time" "baka hindi para sakin" and I remembered congratulating all my friends passing the licensure exam while i was crying alone inside my room that night. Ang sakit pa rin. I hope someday when I looked back hindi ko na iyakan yung nangyari na yon.

I can relate to colin and tj. As someone na nadelay sa college + nag fail during the board exam and atm Im doubting myself if kakayain ko ba o mag bbounce back ba ako to get my license. Your content made me realize that i need to fight and keep trying and going to reach my goal and to move forward on the path that Im taking. Thank you.

Yung best student talaga super tumatak sa akin. Back then sa class namin ako almost always nagtop 1 and everyone around me expected lang na ipagpapatuloy ko yun with added pressure pa. And when I graduated salutatorian, dami ma disappoint sa akin that even I felt disappointed sa a sarili ko and it's when I started na to not take my studies seriously. From salutatorian to just being happy na hindi bumagsak.

Thank you for this video. Story ni AJ hit me hard, cguro dahil nararanasan ko siya now. Naka depende lahat ng tao sa bahay sakin. Di ko mapakita na pa ubos nako. I am physically and mentally drain pero kinakaya. I was once yung top ng class sa college, pero lahat ng nakasama ko uma angat while me here na stranded.

lumabas to sa recommendation ko and i instantly click it. I've been a failure all of my life I struggle to even wake up or put myself together. never bothered talking to anyone else because they live a better life than i am. I'm in my stage of life na puro pagsisisi I was the only one in our batch who didn't passed the board exam, I've graduated in college after 10 years i was total loser if you say so. I mean wala akong skills to offer my times na gusto kong sumuko na lang kasi sobrang pagsisisi ko sa ginawa ko gusto ko na lang siguro sumuko just to find a way out. I just broke and ask myself why am I doing this? pakiramdam ko I should have done more over the time I had. I just hope na in the future i will stand back again and starting to explore and navigate my life, and I will use this testament to still keep strive hard and work my way on the things I started.

30 years old and been a failure since it took me 8 years before I returned to studies. Just graduated in 2022 as a Student Leadership Service Awardee being the Student Council Chair, but I still consider myself a failure during my term due to the transition from new normal in COVID-19. I also considered myself also a failure after graduation since it took me almost a year before I have a job as a call center agent. Thank you Rec•Create for reminding that failures are normal and need to rise up from those failures.

relate na relate ako kay colin!! i felt what he felt during my first year of college, pero super thankful pa rin ako sa set of friends ko dahil di nila ako iniwan during those times (though may mga conflicts na nabuo pero naresolve naman haha) pero im here na, in my fifth year of college, about to defend my thesis na parang dati lang naiinggit ako kasi sila pagraduate na, ako naghihirap pa rin haha! the lessons learned when you failed is the one that will made you as a person ❤️

never was the best by any means. pero when you and peers all start at the same time, and they graduate college after 4 years (20/21 years old) then ako it took me 8 years to finish university at the age of 30. parang sa pakiramdam ko is talagang napag-iwanan na ako in life. SIla they have built their dream lives na started a family with kids. And then there was me, applying for jobs, fresh out of university at age 30.

Thank you re-create that I stumbled to this video tbh hindi ako nakapasok ngayon sa online week ko sa college due to the fact that I nagkaroon ako ng mental breakdown because of festival dance (because dancing is challenging for me because I'm not a dancer) and because of that although I know in myself na hindi ako magaling sa field na yung I think when you go through with overwhelm feeling insecurities triggered you. I was once consistent honor student in SHS, became a class vice president but after I graduated everything changes people left especially the friends you thought you'll be there no matter what, the Guy who broke my heart and etc. my life in college became rollercoaster I became irreg student and shifter and almost dean's Lister. I took the first college course that I've always wanted but my enthusiasm was lost in tourism. (Since I was a kid I love geography and my parents and some friends saw that as a talent). I won't get in to more detail but I described my college life is barely survive I still get decent grades but i easily overwhelm and my self esteem becomes low. Being irreg student is challenging for me but I surpass. But when you're forcing to do something na hanggang doon lang ang limit mo nagiging cause pa rin pala. Anyway ang dami ko nang Hanash but thank you re-create for this video ah. I hope I can bounce back pa rin after all since I'm down to the finals na.
