No other people, barely any lights. He turned off the car and turned to me. It got real quiet. He leaned in real close and said: what would you do if i decided to take advantage of you right now?. Opposite of the prompt, I got a story that actually turned out well. As a hobby in college I would write adventure/comedy kpop fanfiction. I often replied to comments from my readers on the website and sometimes chatted back and forth becoming online friends, this was the case with one reader I'll call Spiral. At the end of my multichaptered comedy, Spiral reached out to me, to gush about my story. I managed to get along with Spiral and we talked about bands we both liked and other stories in my queue. I eventually asked Spiral to beta-read my newest story so I could work out the kinks before releasing it. About 5 months into the new story, a huge kpop festival was happening a few states away and despite being in vastly distant states, Spiral and I both bought tickets and flew out to the festival. Neither of us had met anyone in person who we met online first and were nervous AF. We met at the entrance gate for the festival, looked at each other and said nothing. Two nervous socially awkward young adults who only talked through a kpop fanfiction website, now face to face. Thankfully my partner was with me at the time and asked, "so are you gonna talk about the next chapter or what?" We both managed to laugh and instantly clicked. It's like every conversation we had online melded into in person conversations. We eventually found out we had more in common than just kpop, and bonded over so much more. We eventually made it a point to meet up at the festival every year. We still chat online, neither of us anle to afford the festival anymore but we collaborate on other creative projects outside of fanfiction, we're actually both artists, and they're one of my all time best friends both IRL and online.

Opposite of the prompt, 16 years ago I joined a random raid in WoW. And I immediately loved this cooky fun bunch of people, especially their guild leader. We would talk alot and eventually developed a relationship. Flew out to Vegas to visit for her birthday. Had a blast. I met this girl on a forum many years ago and we were close friends for a long time and always talked about meeting up in person one day because we lived in the same state. But we never did manage to meet up because it was a three hour drive betwen us and there were transportation issues for both of us. However, I recently discovered some things about her that make me glad we never met up. She was dating someone else on the forum who confided in me after their breakup saying that she was emotionally abusive to them and talked shit about me behind my back. I had an online friend who was very friendly at first and we became really good friends. we videochatted sometimes and I knew kinda a lot about her. Never met her in person tho. She was depressive, and I tried to help her as much as I could. She ended up claiming me and manipulating me by saying "if you leave me, I'll kill myself". I became depressive myself because I put all time I could in this friendship to get hate back because I wasn't online during classes in school. I don't regret meeting them, quite the opposite actually, but I was on an online RP game with dragons and stuff, and I went to the throne room to ask someone a random question. How many armpits does a dragon have? My friend, Cabbagemaster, responded by starting a conversation that lasted two hours or so. We first debated whether they had two or four and settled on four after a long argument about genetic possibilities and relations. Next, we debated if dragons could exist, if they were insects, reptiles, or quadrupedal mammals like a platypus. Eventually, we wandered into whether they were the offspring of Echidna, the mother of all monsters in Greek mythology and wrapped up the conversation at our original topic due to the implausibility of fire breathe, and because I had to leave. Actually, I think the conversation went on from 4 pm or so to 7. I had to leave for dinner. This was three years ago and the best online friend I ever made. We don't talk much anymore, but definitely my most memorable friendship.

Last summer, May 2022, I met the guy I had been dating for 2 and 1/2 years at that point. I traveled from my home to fly out of Canada, flew into England, took the train to his town. The whole time I traveled I kept having to bring my heart rate down because I worried about what he could end up being like, if he even showed up at all. Or if I got lost and had no way to contact him or worse things. Even though I had plenty of people who knew where I was and how to help me, I was worried that he could turn out to be the complete opposite of the man I knew. I had ups and downs of regretting the whole trip but when I got off the train and he and I saw each other, we hugged as tight as we could; I found out later that he was about ready to fall backwards from my hug but didn't care; no regrets after that and I can't wait to go back.

Ohoho, I met one of my online friends before. We became fast friends. About six months into our friendship, he said he wanted to travel to my state and meet up with me. I wanted you to cook something.” I was a bit stunned and told him, no, that’s not going to happen right now, sorry. He says he’s going to stay at a five-star hotel and he got it for both of us to stay. I tell him that’s not happening, either. He definitely wanted to get frisky. Nope. 🙅‍♀️ I was firm that he was visiting as a friend. I left downstairs to do something. Then I came back up and caught him rummaging through my bathroom drawers and medicine cabinet. He unabashedly told me, “I tried opening your jewelry stand, but it was locked.” Damn right it was, glad I had the foresight to lock it. (It is a beautiful mirror stand that when you open it reveals a compartment for jewlerly.) At this point, I was creeped out. He already overstayed his welcome. Before he left for his hotel, I told him I had a gift for him. In retrospect, I should have just kept it. I give him the gift and he said, “Ah” and put it back in the bag without thanking me, or showing me any signs of gratitude. (He left the gift behind. He either forgot it, or he didn’t want it.) The next day, I show him around town. I’m already uneasy but I try giving him another chance. I realized that he is a very social awkward person who doesn’t know how to talk properly. He behaves more confidently in front of a computer than he does people. So anyway when I take him to the mall, we look around, grab a coffee, and then when I comment on how something looks, he said, “Bet you want me to get that for you, huh.” I’m like… no… you really don’t have to… 😬 Then next day we go visit the zoo in a major city. It’s 106 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most of the animals were put away due to the heat, but my friend really wanted to go. I was burning up and I can tell he was getting annoyed that I was seriously hot and needed water. We bought a pack of water and I drank most of it because I was overheating. He didn’t seem to care at all. When he drove me back, I told him I wasn’t pleased and we shouldn’t have gone, it was too freaking hot. We didn’t see each other after that but he did stop by on the last day to say goodbye. My mom told him, “Thanks for visiting!” and he said, “I’m glad you feel that way.” We we’re both taken aback by that comment. Anyway, he left. I didn’t talk to him after that. The meetup was too awkward and I think he felt the same. Only thing I didn’t appreciate is that he started slandering me online to his friends. Saying I turned him off because of my ADD and the fact I wimped out in the heat. Needless to say, I’m not doing that again. There’s very few online friends and decent human beings I’ve met years ago and whom I adore, but that one… oof. I’ll never forget that horrible experience.

Ive had great online friends but the worst is always when they end so quickly. You find someone you click with really well on the surface level but once you get to know them better, you realize that youre too different and just drift apart. i have an online friend i met almost 5 years ago, on a Discord server. we met up this past September, they took me to the local county fair, we chilled at their house and drew stuff together afterwards, and overall we had a blast. the worst thing about meeting up the first time was having to endure the wait until we could meet up again!

I pretty much experienced the opposite. I met a girl who I had been friends with for about two years and she was visiting my country by chance, so we decided to meet up. I was a bit worried because she was 8 years older than me and thought that the age and cultural differences might make things a bit awkward. Turns out I was worried for nothing. We instantly clicked and had an amazing day together. It was honestly hard to say goodbye that day and I hope we can do it again soon.

So when I was in training for the army, I saw this crackhead tomboy who was very cute on my instagram feed. I added her, thinking she was in a different training company. We never spoke about army things and just shot the crap about random IRL people things. One day I am venting about a drill, and she's like "wait, that drill?" "I WAS IN THE SAME FORMATION 🤣" Oh no... xD I flirted with her constantly, but I hadn't seen her due to my inactively in the schoolhouse, status, aka an Inact. I met an online friend once. I had extra tickets to a theme park, and he happened to be near my area at the time so I invited him to meet up. The meeting went fine for the most part. However, I later learned this guy secretly hated my guts and was just pretending nothing was wrong to my face. He talked shit to our other mutual online friends behind my back, but his facade eventually broke when he decided he hated me so much he couldn't hide it anymore. This messed me up for a while. I wondered if my other friends secretly hated me, if I'm just an unlikeable person and anyone who shows me kindness is doing it begrudgingly. Rationally, I know it was his fault for not communicating his issues. He got upset over things I had no clue about, so without him telling me, how was I ever going to change? He also lied often; when I'd ask if anything was wrong, he'd pretend it was fine. It was all completely his fault. But still, it made me so insecure for months. Who else lied about liking me? He knew how much it hurt me, and outright said he didn't care. In hindsight, I guess he was just using me for the theme park tickets that one time we met. But it is a happy ending, I suppose. We've blocked each other on everything, so good riddance.

That first story hits hard. Not an online friend, but a couple years ago a girl I was super into and going out with at the time invited me out to meet her best friend. I knew it was really the other way around but I went and the friend was hungry, so I invited them to hop in the car to go find something. It was late, most places were closed and busy, I wanting to impress the friend of the girl I liked took them to four different places because "the lines were too long". The friend spent the entire night bitching and literally pretentending I didn't exist, at one point, even talking about another dude she'd rather see my date with. It was BS. I've never met a more crass person in my life. Of course shortly after that, the girl faded me and started hanging with that other guy.

I have some friends on Discord that I have never met but most of them live in New Zealand. We started talking about what we would do if we met up because of a dream I had (nothing serious, mostly jokes). I did say that I wouldn’t feel comfortable meeting them up in real life. They understood and we still chat, they are the reason why I want to go to New Zealand one day as I’d never thought about going before.

I didn't exactly regret meeting this person irl bit I regret being their friend AT ALL. He was like 8 years older, keeping in mind I was like 16-17 at the time. We had been sporadically talking for 3 years in a friend chat group. He was already not the most likable person, he was a chronic people pleaser and a "nice guy" and took pride in that instead of recognizing it was a problem, but other than that he seemed ok. Knew a girl online for about 4 years at the time. I am a christian and met my friend i knew from Hypixel Skyblock. He was also a tsrong christian and his dad was even a pastor OF THE SAME KIND OF CHURCH WE WENT TO. He was the coolest person ever and we still hang out. One of the best days of my life My mom drove me to where he lives, which is pretty far away, and my mom got along with his parents very well. *my dad couldnt come cus work, no, my parents aren't divorced.

Well, mine were actually good experiences. I have those two friends that I met online. We're like a trio, we're all really close. I met one of them, a guy, a few months ago. We first saw eachother in public places. It was absolutely incredible, made me so happy, and we just clicked as much as online. The second time we met, I went to his place. I was more nervous because I was going to sleep there, and I only informed my best friend of my location. I was in a city I didn't know at all, in complete darkness, with nobody in the streets. I had to walk like that for 45 minutes before arriving to his place. I also was scared that one of his friend would be there, someone who he told us about. And from what I heard, I didn't really trust him. But he wasn't there. And it all was super cool. We became so high, he didn't force to smoke more than I wanted, which I appreciated. We talked a lot and listened to music. And he let me sleep in one of his room. I love this man. Just, don't do like me. Say to people you trust your location. And inform them. Because shit can be really dangerous. I was just lucky.

I had a relationship with some friends I met on a community server for a rhythm game and got close to them after playing every week for almost a year. Eventually they started not inviting me to play and when I would join they wouldn’t pay me any attention. Eventually I just stopped joining to see if they would reach out and they never did. I left the discord group and not one of them reached out to me which had me in a state of insecurity and desperation for some kind of support. After a while I met some people at school and to this day I’ve became the best I’ve ever been. Surrounded by caring friends, good emotional health and good body health which. Honestly sometimes things turn for the worst for a good cause, never give up and always seek greatness.

I try to never bring my online friends into my real life, as I think it's easy to see i am an incredibly boring person normally, but i can be super toxic when things earn my ire... The amount of times i've imagined hurting people that earned my ire and badmouthed them is staggering. Granted, the people i hate are jerks that spread misery, but its still not going to make me fun to chat with over a meal or a beer. Also... my other social skills are piss poor! I have a hard time being understood some of the time, and it ticks me off to no end... i sometimes snap when i have to repeat myself and clarify what i mean until i am understood.

I'm gonna leave a comment here to share my own experience, but also as a reminder for myself to look back to in a few years i guess; (This is not gonna be a creepy story, just a bit bittersweet) I've had an online friend for 5 years (going for 6 with this year). We came to know eachother accidentally because a friend we have in common put us in a group together, just to share a meme. I live in the north of Italy, he lives all the way down to the south. I was 17 at the time, he was 21; we both bonded over liking a particular singer, our fondness of cooking/baking bread, and liking videogames. It takes me a bit of time to get close to people and open up, but in the matter of a few months he became a very good friend to me. As the years passed, i got to understand him better and see also some of his defects aside from the good stuff. Just human, normal stuff, like being extra stubborn on some opinions, and sometimes interpreting my words and reaching his own conclusions on how i felt about some things, instead of listening to the conclusions i gave. Despite this, we never actually fought, just had some days in which we were both grumpy at each other, but then quickly resolved it by explaining ourselves. So the friendship only got stronger. I'll admit that during the second year of it, i developed a little crush. But by talking to our friend in common, i confirmed that he didn't like me that way, and we agreed that i still didn't know him THAT well anyway (for example, having never met eachother, i couldn't see how he was/acted around his family and other people, and that usually tells a lot about a person) So i was able to get over the crush quickly, and we both changed a bit through the next years, but our friendship stayed solid and secure. So, we ended up meeting in person for the first time in November 2022; I had time, since i wasn't studying nor working, and it was like a sudden impulse came over me. I wanted to do my first flight alone, and to meet him before the end of the year. I was afraid that if i waited more, then i wouldn't have the guts to do it or other stuff could get in the way. So after planning a bit together, and making sure he was available to spend a week basically babysitting me around his hometown, i finally met him. At first we were both a bit awkward, and despite the strong hugs we gave eachother, we both admitted to feeling like we were in a dream, and it was all very surreal. This feeling started to pass as i met his parents and his younger brother, and we had lunch together; they were very welcoming fortunately. And so, we spent a week together, just eating local specialties, visiting both the beach and mountains, and watching movies in the comfort of the little guest room he provided me with. We cuddled a lot, as we wanted to give eachother all the hugs we couldn't give in 5 years. Then came the last day. We planned that he would take me to the bus station early in the morning, since i had to get the very first bus to avoid missing my flight. So he asked if i was ok with sharing the bed with him, as he didn't feel like leaving me alone that night. I felt the same, so i agreed. We both set our alarms on the phones, and then just hugged eachother and almost never moved. We managed to fall asleep despite the sadness. In the morning i cried a lot (I'm a crybaby anyway, so i expected it) he waved at me after i got on the bus, and the waterfalls started right away in my eyes. He was worried and called me 5 minutes later to ask if i was ok and keep me company until i reached the airport. And so i arrived back home, safe and sound. So, in the last few months since then, he gradually started expressing more affection over texts and calls, and i replied in kind. We reached a point, in which i can say with 99% accuracy that we both have a crush on eachother. We met again for just one day in Venice, at the start of April, because he was traveling with family to go visit his older brother, and would be staying there for a short rest of 2 days, before going farther away. Since I don't live that far from Venice, we agreed to meet there, together with our friends in common. It was the best day of this year so far. I got lots of hugs and kisses on the cheeks. Both our friends told me it's kind of obvious that we like eachother. Despite that, we still didn't confess it between us. Frustrating, i know, but i do have a reason other than shyness. The thing that makes me scared to tell him, is that aside from the long distance difficulties, i do know we also have different plans for the future: he wants to have a marriage and kids. I don't want either of those... especially the kids. Those are just too important and life-changing things, and I never wanted to be a mother, and haven't changed idea so far. I'm not willing to give up on this decision for love, as i do put my well being and happiness over it as a priority. So i know that, as soon as we confirm our feelings, we will need to have this talk. And I'm pretty sure that we'll end up hurt, but agreeing that our wishes for the future are too conflicting to risk starting a relationship now, only to end it in a few months/years because of our different needs, and worse, maybe even with grudge/resentment. I do feel love for him, but there is still that complicit friendship there, that i value so much and that is dear to me. I don't want to lose it, or ruin it. That's why i fear the moment of a confession. In the best of cases, maybe we will take some time apart from eachother and later reconnect and stay friends. In the worst case, things might change in an irreparable way. So, in a way, i do regret at least a bit meeting him, because I'm pretty sure that was the moment that jumpstarted these feelings for both of us. It's bittersweet, knowing those feelings are reciprocated, and also that they have the power to destroy or partially ruin something so precious as our friendship. I shall leave this here, hopefully in the future i can update this with a somewhat positive ending to it all🌻

So, about a year ago one of my online friends and I became friends when a mutual had introduced us to each other. We became friends quickly, even dating for a bit. I found out that I was going on a vacation to the island she lives on. We met at the place the boat arrived, we hung out for an hour, even going shopping, all because my family and I missed a bus because I got lost in conversation. Met an online friend I knew for several months who was vacationing in my city about 30 minutes away from my own house. Our parents decided to have us meetup at an arcade. We are both socially awkward and since we didn't actually know that much about each other and decided to meet on a whim, we had virtually nothing to speak about other than the one thing we both had in common, a video game, which is how we met. Throughout the night I constantly made jokes related to that video game, essentially speaking how I would online irl. It was like I was on a default setting since I was already running off of no sleep, and it turned out to be very cringe. Everything I ended up saying was so cringe. I constantly think about it and it makes me want to shrivel up and die every time. A lot of other things about that night ended up putting me in awkward positions, especially the fact that we decided to go bowling, and I'm a horrible bowler, I hate going bowling because standing up in front of a group of people and bowling makes me very nervous for some reason. Long story short, my friends little brother beat everyone at bowling, and then we ate for a bit and left. I wish I could redo that night or poof it from existence.

Turns out there was an online friend who was throwing insults and threats at her on Discord, and my friend helped soothe her sister as she cut off contacts with the horrible online friend.

I met my best friend in the world on xbox live in 2019. In 2021, i moved across the country, but JUST SO HAPPENED to be driving straight through his town. We met up and I didn’t regret it at all. Had a steak dinner, we had a game night, played Halo via splitscreen for the first time like we had always fantasized about, had a little party with music and some of his friends over, then i crashed on his couch and we parted ways in the morning. We’ve both been super busy with life and work since then but we’re planning our second meeting for this summer

One of the first internet friends I met was the coolest person ever, until my narcissistic best friend at the time lied about me and tore us apart. Not friends with either of them anymore, sadly she gets treated pretty poorly by that narcissistic friend, bad karma. Luckily though I didn't end up spending years with them, I had other friends I had made. Even one I met 10 years ago and we're still friends to this day! We call about twice a week. It's a hit or miss, just like meeting people face to face.

I spent something like 3 years in VRChat hanging out with this guy. He was a little nerdy and slightly perverted. He could rant for hours about cars and electronics and technology.. All different manner of comparing Engine types.. to explaining how certain power batteries work.. To how to build a PC from scratch... I enjoyed his company for a while. Then one day i had to move from home, and i figured it would be perfect to move in with my friend from VRChat. I spent so much time being his friend that i figured i would enjoy his company.. Day 1 of living with him, i learn that he's Transphobic as well as being someone who thinks Genderfluid people are just abusing privilages of males or females as it pleases them.. Then that night i learned that he ALSO could never shut up. He talked constantly, and when he isnt talking directly to someone he is talking to himself and constantly rehearsing saying things on a regular basis. You can always hear his whispers. And when he decided to get into VRC that night, he would be up until 4 AM ERPing with his friends.. And my bed was 6 feet away from him as his place was a studio apartment.. I begged and pleaded for him to go to bed so i could sleep to which he ignored and kept on anyways.. I was stuck living with him for give or take.. 6-8 months.. I had to learn how to sleep with headphones on and music blaring in my ears to get any sleep.. A trait i still use to this day due to unfortunate circumstances.

I met 3 of my online friends on separate occasions and they don't know each other but know of each other. 1 of them I got married to 1 of them took me to a concert when he visited my city 1 of them I met their immediate family, got to spend christmas with them and we're basically like brother/sister and their siblings are like my siblings, their mom is like my god mom, and I could walk into their house at any time and stay as long as I want whenever I want. We also have the same birthday and celebrated it together the first time we met in person.

I met my fiance in Rec Room actually. It was crazy. Long story short, the second I saw him at the airport walking over, I knew he was the one, neither of us having doubts. It's been about 4 years, but he's still the same wonderful person I met in a cringe video game ❤️😂

Hell I met most of all of my friends online lol, met them in real life and made them meet each others and we’re all friends for over a decade now

So. Met a girl in wow. She seemed alright, though kind of competitive. She had a rough life at home, with abusive parents, and i decided to invite her to stay for a week, maybe she would want to stay. We made plans, and such, and then finally happened. It was... Awful. She barely engaged in conversation, mostly complained about everything, only wanted junk food, spent more time playing on her phone than doing stuff together... I was kind of relieved when she gone back home. And pissed, since i tried to be welcoming and give a good experience, and all i got in return was a bratty woman with attitude issues. She contacted me last year to ask for some things from my home country, yet she wanted me to just give them rather than pay for it.

I feel bad for the guy on the first one, the girl he's marrying doesn't deserve him

Idk why anyone is talking about it but I seriously feel sorry for the person at Story #1 like she really lied and tore up a great friendship, and the person can’t even seen their best friend anymore due to the jealousy of a girlfriend, it’s crazy

I met someone online by the nickname of Fraulien. It was fun at first, but after she realized I was never going to go see her over in Carolina, she started making threats. I had to block her change my phone number and I'm glad I never told her exactly where I lived. She only knew about where I lived within a 50 mile radius.

Story 5: OP got lucky. That woman wasn't just obsessed.. she was a predator. Who knows what she would've done had OP brought her kid along.. instant red flag.

story #2 is actually quite wholesome

Got invited to a nice restaurant to meet up since we lived close to each other. Knew each other for about a year. Voice chatted. Wife and husband. Walked in and they're sitting at a bench waiting to be seated still. I'm excited to see them and say "Hey! What's up?" As Friendly as I can muster. Wife looks me in the soul and says "Aren't you going to introduce yourself? It's rude to not introduce yourself." Extremely sternly. The meal was awkward after that. They were very professional and not friendly at all like in voice calls or chats. Never saw them again.

Story number 8 is really less of a 'regret meeting an online friend' story and more of a 'regret being an idiot' story.

I don't regret meeting any of my online friends. One is my best friend and asked me to be one of his groomsmen, The other I'm very close with and visit her in Seattle a lot. She took me to Kurt Cobain's home town for my birthday. And my FF14 FC had a meet up and we all rented out an Airbnb and went to Universal and Disney.

She tried to use me to get free theater tickets to my plays, dance numbers, and magic show performances. I had set aside tickets for her at Will Call, but told her under NO circumstances would they be “free”. She threw a tantrum that she had to “pay” for the tickets (or that the tickets were sold to someone else when she was late one time). We aren’t friends anymore and I’ve blocked her.

Story 11 just baffles me. Sounds a lot like that person was looking at that guy through rose tinted glasses for a long time before reality finally slapped her in the face. Never befriend someone like that, you aren't responsible for another person's emotional baggage.

TLDR; some friends showed me a new friend online, after a few years, found him in an English class, then scoped being friends with them, not I don’t trust people and have very few friends. The long story; No quite instantly but, some of my friends (whom I’m no longer friends with for other but related reasons) introduced to someone online, he was a bit… off didn’t and still don’t know why. After awhile, we started a new grade, and for the first 2 weeks we didn’t know that we where in the same English class, and irl he was nice, but while being nice irl, he became very toxic online, as well as all of the friend group, most of whom I had met irl, let’s just some it up and say that, after 2 “wars” in a discord that led all of them 3 bans, I figured out that they are not good friends and I haven’t really made friends since.

Met two of my best friends online. The one we went to's house turned out to be racist and got in with a VERY bad crowd so I cut them off... The other we parted due to growing apart... Still kind of regret it since I really cared about those two and a few months after I just realised I spent all that money to fly us out for nothing... Great trip though! Very greatful to the family of the one who I cut off. They were wonderful!

No regrets what so ever. Met her playing COD and after about 8 months playing a few different online games together took my vacation to go visit was the first time I’ve ever flown and one of the best vacations I’ve ever been on. I cant wait to go back every year now

Opposite of the prompt, but, I have this friend who lives in America, I live in Europe, so we're quite far away from each other. My friend is a few years younger and we met about 4 years ago on a minecraft server. After 2 years of talking we start using video calls more often, and we hang out quite a bit with each other and some mutual friends I met through him. His parents and siblings really like me whenever we chat and we start discussing me coming over to meet all of them. When I got there it felt natural to hang out, my friend showed me around the city, we cooked dinner together, his siblings would often come to try and get my attention because they wanted to hang out with me too. I made them food that was native to my country, they bombarded me treats from theirs. He and his family had made a list of treats and drinks I had to try before I got home, do not think I have ever eaten so much in my life before or since. The two weeks I spend with them were awesome and we want to meet up again next year :).

I have a friend that met some friends on COD from Philly (first mistake is meeting people from Philly) he use to grow and sell weed at that time and took 3k worth with his laptop and a couple of other things in his backpack. He met them and they were nice, he met some of their friends at a party they went and the two main friends he knew on COD left the party. Long story short they stole his backpack and he had to drive from Philly to Boston without a license, he lost about $6k in stuff that night. He’s stopped selling weed and stopped playing cod after that

I agree with some comments I see here where online friends stay online and in person friends stay in person friends. The difference between the two is you see the true personality of the in person whereas the online friend tend to be a catfish or they tend to take a personality of a TV, animal, cartoon, video game character as their own.

This reminds me of my old (IRL) bestie.. I miss her a lot, I moved away from her a few years ago and I still wish we’d kept in contact.. This also reminds me of my two online besties, who’s names I won’t share, the three of us haven’t talked in god knows how long, and even when I try to talk to them, I get no reply, but it’s alright, it’s not like they hate me, it’s just their probably really busy with their own lives

I had a pretty good discord friend, we talked a lot despite not sharing much interests except pokemon. And one day he went full nazi, started saying the germans should have won because it would be a better world, sent me bunch of "world war 2 nazi edits" (yeah) and on a fantasy roleplay we had he changed his character to basically a hitler. I obviously sayed that he was maniac and stopped communicating whit him. Some months later i found him again and he surprisingly changed, he regreted what he sayed and we talked a bit sometimes. I changed my discord account since i was hacked and lost all communication whit him, probably still chilling somewhere. Glad he could regret all those things

I don’t regret anything… EXCEPT… being in the same room with them when they’re making sexual jokes towards each other, because my friend group consists of 2 couples, and me being the only single person, and my body had some weird thing happen where I didn’t feel sexually attracted to anyone at the time, so to be in the same room with them, and they’re making these jokes and my libido to be gone, and being single, it was hard.

I met my best friend while I had discord we became friends in it I revealed my age and he straight up changed his attitude. We roasted and became angry every single day until this year I had a friend group who would roast him back and it worked at some point.

These stories remind me of this guy my best friend and I knew on Minecraft My friend met him through a hypixel game and then I happened to join their world while they were chatting. We weren't really close with this guy or anything, but we were friends. We thought he was SO cool, like, he knew how to use command blocks, and cheats, and he always made super cool redstone stuff Then one time we were chatting and my friend and I randomly mentioned our ages, we were 11 (I think) at the time, and this guy tells us that he was 16. My friend and I had been on a voice call and we kind of just whispered like "whaaaat??? This super cool nice guy, HAS BEEN 16 THIS ENTIRE TIME??" As 11-year-olds, all teens just seemed really scary, mean and loud to us, so when we found out that this guy was 16, we were so surprised lmao But then there was a completely opposite time when my friend invited this other dude they met on hypixel onto our fully built-out world. And I mean fully built-out, like we had our own mansions, farms, shops, soooo many pets, and in general it was an awesome world (it was a creative world but it had taken us ages still) But then _this_ guy came along. As soon as we finished touring him around, he got out lava buckets and poured them over our homes. He blew up our farms with TNT, killed our pets, blew up our shops as well, and just left. It was horrible, my friend and I were crying over the call.

It’s kinda sad on how on the internet you can risk everything on that website. I still have good friends on the internet and don’t give out private information (don’t give your address, social security number, etc), but still socialize which friendly questions (fav color, birthday maybe if you know them well, etc). Never judge a person by its cover but be cautious as well
