My Dad played this on his guitar, an Ibanez.......He did not make a will and when he died of a heart attack in 1970, all of his guitars were given away or sold by his truly miserable second wife who was more interested in money than anything else you can think of. Whoever got all of his guitars certainly has wonderful instruments and I know they are well cared for. PLEASE make a will if you have precious things to leave to somebody. PLEASE support music and all the arts in schools. The first grade is not too young. Happy 2023
As a slide guitarist I understand your feelings and I sincerely respect your values related to music. We must take great care of our musical instruments for they are the source of greatest joy in our life.
My grandpa borrowed and accordeon today and played La Paloma to my grandma at the hospital. It's their love song, you should see the way they were smiling to each other...
I would just like to take a moment to say how kindhearted and wonderful everyone in the comments section is. Thank you all for the kind words and reassurance that everything will be okay. I am on the autism spectrum, and often mask how I feel, so listening to music like this really helps me process these feelings, and oftentimes cry because of it. Like I’m free to be myself and not try to conform for others’ comfort. In a world with so many harsh sounds, something about music that is so gentle to the ear just makes me cry.
La Paloma is one of the most beautiful melodies ever! And Maestro Romero is my favorite Classical Guitarist of all-time. I also play this Song on my Guitar.
I must have listened to this 100 times. I can't figure out why this is so good. It sounds so simple, but it really is not. It is just so beautifully arranged and performed. Amazing. I wish one day I can play like this.
I think the same, could it be because it is an expression of love in all its simplicity: so kind, warm and gentle? It's not trying to impress or boast like many other artistic expressions common today. That could be enough, although I tend to go a step further as a Christian, and also claim that it is an expression of our deepest relationship with God, of His forgiveness and love, which we secretly long for in this forsaken world?
He’s one of the greats. Can you imagine following his fathers footsteps by playing classical guitar? In this song, he has such a soft touch, it’s amazing! I try to copy what he does but it’s beyond my skill to make La Paloma sound as great as it was written. Beautiful homage to his father. He would be proud.
I never tire of hearing this magnificent piece and Senor Romero brings it as close to absolute perfection as I've ever heard. Sebastian Yradier must have been inspired by something mystical when he created this wonderful music. When properly played, every note touches the soul.
Listening to Pepe Romero play is a joy, but seeing him smile after he finishes, says one thing to me. He is joyful in himself, his kind nature shines out through him, and that is his gift to the audience. He smiles because his gift has been received with joy. Thank you for your gift Pepe!
He is an amazing gentle kind beautiful soul his daughter was my best friend growing up, I loved to go to their house, full of music and happiness & dancing and art it was my sanctuary. Thank you second Father!❤
@@thepauldinglightchannelmel7567 I would love to meet him one day. His approach to music and life are the same in my view. Thank you for your response. Best.
Pepe Romero! He came from a family of outstanding classical guitarists, starting with his magnificent father. What else is there to say, except "Bravo Maestro!!!".
My late father used to play on his guitar this so beautifully, sounded exactly the same x I wish you could have played together ... thank you for the beautiful memories x
Pepe is an amazing man, he was like a father to me, i heard him play this in the living room at his home in Del Mar what a beautiful environment it was.
What I noticed in Romero's presentation is that when he plays this, the subtle nuances of the music tell the " story" of La Paloma and the piece takes on a life of its own.
The guitar is an addiction, stronger than most realize. Been hooked on it for nearly 50 years and still a mediocre player, but play I do, and that matters to me. Keep playing my friend. You and the world will be better for it.
Beautiful piece. I first heard it when I was a child: my grandfather loved it. Exquisite interpretation: you let us enjoy every single note and delightful nuance. Bravo!!!
Sir, this also is one of my favorite pieces, and you certainly make your father proud, for it sounds like an expression of love rather than a performance. Bravo Sir!
Oblivion is where we came from and where we are all going eventually. We can only hope that wherever we end up there is real music like this or at least the essence of whatever it is that makes music effect us. There is a connection between music, the cosmos, and our soul, for lack of a better word. How else could 100 yr old songs make us feel what we feel, seems to me that music is something we have not yet seen it's true depth..
¡qué belleza!, hace gala del arte musical, de transmitir emoción, de tocar el corazón...Dios nos regaló el DON del oído, y el talento para ejecutar un instrumento musical de esta manera!. ¡felicidades!
From a master we can hear the trills, vibrato, dynamics, slides, 2, or 3 strings strummed simultaneously. Brilliant. The rhythm comes from Cuba or the Caribbean Islands. It is named "habanera". You hear this beat Bizet's Carmen. Bizet recognized its Caribbean roots, and internationalized the beat, a simple one. The composer, Sebastian Yradier. The lyric is dazzlingly serene and romantic. A lover’s plea, an ode. Musically it is deceptively simple, but contains evocative triplets which give the song its own lyrical signature, accentuated by many a romantic singer.
Splendida esecuzione, emozionante, complimenti. Era la canzone preferita di mia Madre ed è diventata un po' anche la mia perché ogni volta che ho bisogno di sentirla vicino,la ascolto. Grazie Maestro
Real emotion and sensitivity come out in this one. His technique is clean and delicate here which just happen to be perfect for this piece. Marvelous...
