Oh wow! So cool, Victoria! I have a plant shopping video from Family Tree too - if you haven't seen it yet, you need to run to my Plant Shopping playlist! I wish I lived closer to KC (I'm 2 hrs away!) so I could go there every day! Heck, I'd probably choose to work there 😂 They have such a great mood! I just love it! I just happened upon your channel today seeking help with my dark mystery! Now I’m sad because I wish I would’ve found this video sooner before I tossed my peperomia 🥲I literally cried!I don’t have a green thumb at all but I’ve been so in love with plants starting last year( maybe because of Covid? Shelter in place?) I ordered from Etsy the peperomia, Chinese money plant, baby necklace, and a black rose. So far only the Chinese money plant is thriving! The petals have fallen off my black rose, my baby necklace I believe had root rot I’ve since then repotted and now praying I can save them, and my peperomia is gone. Do you have any tips on any of the others I’ve named? I am in love with your monstera that and a snake plant are on my wish list. You have gotten a new subscriber!!

hi, this is Catherine...... i love your video. Please indicate if you have to be changing the water regularly during the propagation and also how long it takes for the roots to grow and be ready for soil planting
@GrowingRoots
@GrowingRoots 3 года назад
Hi Catherine - thanks so much for connecting! Most people will say that you should change out water every 3-4 days, or twice a week, but I'm going to be so honest with you - I switch it out a few times the first few weeks and then usually just top it off when it starts evaporating Lol And when algae starts to grow, then I'll give it a good clean and refresh lol Most plants aren't nearly as sensitive as we tend to think they are! I'd say most of my peperomias sit in water for about 8-10 weeks. A good rule of thumb is to plant in soil when roots are about 2 inches long. Have you started propagating already??

This is a bit hard to describe but my frost peperomia is growing a little funky (maybe?). It’s original stems are nice and long and there’s TONS of new growth from the middle. The middle has stayed really really short though so it looks uneven… Tall around the outside and short inside. Is this normal? I’ve had it for 2 months or so and the middle just doesn’t seem to be gaining any height!! Thank you!!! Love your videos :)

I've had a peperomia caperata (like the darker plant on the right) for less than 2 weeks now and the stems are starting to droop, and the leaves are folding. I don't think it is neither underwatered nor overwatered. Have you ever had this happen? Thanks!
@GrowingRoots
@GrowingRoots 4 года назад
Interesting! I feel like mine get droopy if I wait too long between waterings or if I over water. If you think your watering is spot-on, I'd recommend trying to get a bit more light. My peperomia's tolerate lower light quite well, but they really love to soak up the rays!
@jessiegagne
@jessiegagne 4 года назад
Growing Roots thanks for the reply, will do! Do you ever prune yours or take out the long, drooping stems? I’m wondering if I need to clear those up to make room for the new growths (which are flowering!). Thank you again!
@GrowingRoots
@GrowingRoots 4 года назад
@@jessiegagne Awww so glad you are blooming! Yes, I usually clean the droopy leaves out, if I can tell that they are dying for sure. No sense letting your plant expend energy on leaves/stems that won't persist!

@haroldjones9321

Don't Peperomia plants roots grow mostly in the top layer of soil? So perhaps the plant needs a shallow & wide pot for best results. Peperomia are also used as a ground cover plant in the landscape.

I saw a Watermelon Pepperomi at a Lowe’s quite a ways from me yesterday. I think they are adorable. It was $18.98 for a 6 inch pot. Is that reasonable and how hard are they to grow?
