Thank you for negotiating the PrimeCare requirement for Synergy. I'm super interested in expanding to a 5G device in addition to my Max Transit Duo, but can't see paying 300-400 a year for an enterprise style support plan.
Too funny. I checked for firmware updates yesterday just to see if there were any new updates "none found". This update is EXACTLY everything I've been looking for, and can't wait to update later today!
**PEPLINK ADDED A FEATURE I REQUESTED** 😁👍 - Use one of the WAN ports as a LAN Port on the BR2 pro. This is HUGE, because only the WAN ports are 2.5gbe ethernet. So if you're bonding 2x 5g connections AND Starlink (like I am), it's possible that the 1gbe LAN ports could become the bottleneck. But now we can connect to the router at 2.5gbe! I already have a 10gbe switch in my van and am SO EXCITED.
Peplink routers have always had the feature of assigning a WAN port to be a LAN port instead. I don’t think anything has changed here - but it is a great feature.
In love with the synergy feature, but unfortunately haven't been able to get my BR1 Pro 5g to act as the synergy controller, only the synergy device. Was hoping to route my Balance20x as the SD and my Br1 Pro as the SC to utilize wifi6 :( but right now I can only seem to get synergy working with the 20x acting as the controller.
2:36 I never really understood this part. if I am using 1) starlink granted me decent 100-150 speeds and I use a 5g T-Mobile home internet as failover, and 2) I am past the data cap for peplink, surely I am not bottlenecked by speed fusion connect protect even if starlink is working perfectly fine ( during times when failover doesn't need to occur ) ? pls clarify.
If you are just using failover, you are probably not using SpeedFusion data at all. SpeedFusion is when you combine multiple connections simultaneously by routing your traffic over both connections to a SpeedFusion server. That server has its own data limits.
We've been running multiple 5G connections of Synergy for a while .. not sure there's been results shared anywhere. But feel free to ask in the forums, I'm sure Chris might answer. But so much depends on location and local conditions.
