@@treycopeland1368so, he first held it to where the longer 13" side of the pan was horizontal, and said that was 13" by 9". He turns it so that now the shorter 9" side is horizontal, and he flips the numbers as now the shorter side is the horizontal one, so he called it 9" by 13" Basically because he swapped which side was horizontal, he also swapped the numbers There's not much to the joke, just a silly dumb joke, I'm a fan of stupid jokes like this Does this help?
Having hemorrhaged once before I’d say that’s more of a “hard no” than an ick (although it is icky as well) it’s the wrappers for me, smaller they are the worse it is, garlic, small candies etc. and if the wrapper sticks to my fingers? Forget about it!
...am I one of the odd ones? As I have very little difficulty unwrapping those suckers? Or is the Circle of Hell just being forced to watch people like me unwrap them with ease, and then handed one and told to do the same? 😂
I got my grandma into watching your videos, she loves the humor and remembering recipes from her childhood along with learning new ones. Thank you so much for starting this, it gives us something fun to talk about when u get the chance to go over. (I’m actually getting her your cookbook for Christmas, I know she’s going to love it!) Keep at it! Have a happy holiday!
Could someone have made it for him? It looks like it's got a few of his favorite ingredients on it! I can't read them all, but I definitely saw nilla, eggies, and moo (I'm assuming juice is somewhere on there too)!
His peppermint patties video will still be my all time favorite. The joy on his face when he ate those is still the best. That being said that peppermint bark looks awesome!
i got your book for christmas and was so overjoyed that i stopped thinking, so i immediately turned to my nana and told her "now i can bake things from back in YOUR day!" before realising what i had just said and instantly regretting it. thank you, dylan, for helping me nearly ruin christmas!
Dylan!! I finally got your cook book!! I have wanted it for ages and missed 2 busses and drove 45 minutes to get to the shops and get the last one, I love it so much you are amazing and you did a fantastic job with your book ❤❤❤
Can I use dark chocolate chips instead of the semi-sweet chocolate chips? Can I use those melt in your mouth peppermint candies as the crushed peppermint used in this recipe?
oh man, I work in custom framing and I've had to explain to people that a [for example] 9x13 is the same as a 13x9- ALSO I SAW YOUR BOOK FOR SALE AT WORK ❤❤❤
Potentially stupid question, I dont have any frames but surely the brackets will be placed different? Like wouldnt portrait have brackets near the top of the shorter side and landscape the longer side?
I work in HVAC and at least when it comes to ventilation grilles and registers, 9x13 and 13x9 are actually different. The first number is the width at the 'base' and indicates the orientation of the louvers.
@@pooeyyeoop1 well yes (not a stupid question) but our frames have brackets positioned both ways, and also that's not what this particular customer was asking 😭😭😭
Oh my God! I remember seeing that home cooking book in my grandparents house as a kid, which is hilarious because they didn't really cook American food. But it was always on the counter next to the stove.
I bought the book for myself and my Mom for Christmas. I had a HUGE collection of old cookbooks - everything from the small Betty Crocker, Better Homes and Gardens, local cookbooks from the 50s-90s and lost them in a bad storm (leak, my storage wasn't waterproof). Finding Dylan has been the breath of fresh air I needed!
Dylan crooning "Blue Christmas" from The Year Without a Santa Claus while bashing the candy canes is absolutely everything. Now I'm putting one foot in front of the other to watch every Rankin/Bass Xmas video I can find -- after i finish watching this another twenty times😂
Yelling "FIRE!" when lighting the stove, I love it! 😂 I'll never have that joy as I am stuck with a convection cook top. Have to roast marshmallows over a candle... Well, maybe I'll yell it next time I light a candle. 😊
I got this book for my birthday, which is 3 months before Christmas day. Too bad it's not a video book. That would be awesome!!! I already watch these shorts on a loop, as I never get tired of his voice and humor!!
I adore peppermint bark and I think I have a shopping list to make now because buying it premade is too expensive now lol. Whoever designed candy cane wrappers is laughing at us from hell as well.
In my own recipe, I add a little peppermint extract in the chocolate, too! 💗❄ I love your book!! (I bought so many copies to give as Christmas gifts.) Dylan, we need more videos! I hope you had a Happy Christmas. Hoping to see more of you in the new year.
I’ve always ❤loved your videos. Your extremely talented, hilarious and I suspect very kind. Thanks for adding a smile to otherwise serious life. Peace☮️🐈⬛Cat
So excited to give my 6 year old your cookbook for Christmas. She loves your videos so much. She slways imitates your EGGIEs and floof powder when cooking. 😅
That sweater is Chef's Kiss, and you look seasonally wholesome, young sir. I own that particular cookbook, and the peppermint bark is really perfect for the holidays
You can use any combo of choc. Dark and light or caramel and dark. Yes the white is the most festive but I just use milk on the bottom and dark on top to show up the candy canes. The family don't like white and they still love Xmas bark after all these years 💜 (caramel and mint is weird to me but some want it 🤪)
And the best Zinger.... Goes to: Trees (tree huggers) and Dogs (redneck bro's dobermann) Have a hella bunch in common. Neither can file taxes. But we the people CAN! We must. Ugghh. "" "" "" "" " Can't we all just get along??? And beyond "Christmas." NOT "holidays!" bc Dylan says so!!! ❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤💚
The cookbook is AMAZING. I definitely recommend it for anyone who likes old fashioned baking. Clear instructions and some of your humor mixed in. I made the Dutch apple cake yesterday and my family has already polished it off.
The way my mom and I do it is Dove chocolate bars laid out on a baking sheet melted slightly in the oven and then spread into one mass, some pre-crushed peppermint because it saves time, and walnuts, put in the fridge like you do here - we don't cut it either, we just break it up with our hands, so the pieces are all different
