I didn’t know that they did this, but I definitely remember it. I used to wash down meatball subs from my local video store with these. It was supposed to be berry-flavored, but it mostly just tasted like cotton candy to me.
@@SeanOrange It depends on how you define “cola”, I guess. The flavors typically associated with cola are actually citrus, not so much the kola nuts that the drink gets its name from. Pepsi Blue definitely has citrus flavor in it, even more so than regular Pepsi if memory serves. If they still put actual kola in Pepsi, it can’t be that much because it’s not listed with the ingredients. Even if we’re to assume that the “natural flavors” is or includes kola, it’s not very high on the list. The higher an ingredient is on a list, the more of it is in there. Coca-Cola doesn’t have it all anymore. So… can Pepsi Blue be considered a cola? From a flavor standpoint, not really, but it has most of the same ingredients, including the citric acid that gives traditional colas most of their taste. It definitely has a citrusy flavor, just not the same one. It’s a lot tangier, my guess is they use more lemon flavor than cola’s traditional lime/orange. Even the typical brown color of cola usually comes from dye or caramel rather than the kola nut or any of the natural ingredients that used to go into it, so the fact that Pepsi Blue is blue isn’t a great argument against it being a cola either.
